Evolved cloud security with active monitoring but needs interface consistency
The user interface needs work. Sometimes, it is a transition from the old tool to the new CNAPP Two that I currently have, and remnants of the old environment can still be detected. I require consistency in the user interface to ensure everything is streamlined into the same look and feel. More work is needed in fine-tuning the threat data towards your CSPM and activity logs, aligning them with business intelligence, which requires a cohesive console interface. My assessment of CloudGuard CDRs in intrusion detection and threat hunting capabilities is that it still needs some work. All the threat data that comes in, you need to fine tune it a bit.

Automating compliance processes with effective data classification
One limitation of Securiti is that it can only classify about 30% to 40% of my data. For the remaining data, even if it is PII, it may not be classified correctly. This could be due to incorrect or missing data in the dataset. Therefore, I still need to do some manual review to complete the exercise. Additionally, it would be beneficial if Securiti had a feature similar to data mesh, allowing users to directly access remote data through the Securiti UI. This would reduce the need for other tools like Snowflake.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It offers a range of features tailored to address the unique security challenges."
"I value the comfort and the ability to receive proper insights almost hands-off."
"This solution helps to keep everything visible, and it also alerts us if something is wrong, such as if someone opened extra ports or services that they are not supposed to. This is a valuable tool for monitoring and maintaining our cloud environment."
"Its monitoring and alerts are triggered by a failure or non-compliance with policies. It helps us to be able to act effectively and quickly."
"On Dome9, you can have reports on compliance, users created, and EAM access to the cloud infrastructure. For example, if some machine is exposed to the Internet, importing and exporting to the Internet when it shouldn't, we get immediate alerts if someone does this type of configuration by mistake. Dome9 is very important because AWS doesn't protect us for this. It is the client's responsibility to make sure that we don't export things to the Internet. This solution helps us ensure that we comply with our security measures."
"We like the GSL Builder feature. When you're running a security operations center, you spend a lot of time monitoring endpoint activity to ensure there is no malicious traffic or anonymous access in the environment. The GSL Builder is helpful for deep investigations of a particular reason for an incident. You can use it to get more information."
"Dome9 wraps our FTP infrastructure with its network security configurations, and this also gives us the ability to monitor FTP activity."
"All of the features are very useful in today's market."
"The process mapping is a good tool. We have a nice view of their data."
"Their data discovery is a fantastic product."
"It's very scalable. I would rate it ten out of ten for scalability."
"Data discovery is a fantastic product."
"Technical support for Securiti is good."
"Overall, I would rate Securiti a nine out of ten."
"I would recommend Securiti to others with challenges like obtaining human resources for timely classification."
"The initial setup is easy."

Cons

"The security of Check Point CloudGuard Posture Management could improve. There are always new security issues coming out."
"For businesses with varied IT ecosystems, increasing the integration capabilities with additional third-party products and services would increase flexibility and user-friendliness."
"I am not a technical person, but generically, the user interface can be a little more intuitive. Our staff has trained network security and cloud security professionals, and they get it, but when you are trying to get to the customers to be able to pick it up and maintain it, it can be a bit difficult."
"We were demotivated by the lack of native automation modules for the Terraform and Ansible tools."
"The biggest thing is the documentation aspect of Dome9 is a little lacking. They were purchased by Check Point about a year and a half to two years ago. When they integrated into Check Point's support system, a lot of the documentation that they had previously got mangled in the transition, e.g., linking to stuff on the Dome9 website that no longer exists. There are still a lot of spaces with incomplete links and stuff that is not as fully explained as it could be."
"The setup can be better. With every other Check Point product, the setup is scripted. You just approve versions, and then you are off. The setup for this solution is still very much manual. I would like to see that transition to more of a scripted setup."
"We want to be able to customize the solution more in order to meet the needs of our company."
"I don't have any notes for improvements."
"With the formation and education, specifically the security education, they could update the educational video more often."
"Fraud prevention could be improved. If a criminal accesses my system and obtains my information, they might commit fraud."
"I would like their workflows and assessment automation to be more advanced compared to their competitors, especially under the pro core privacy module."
"While the software is functionally robust and intuitive, there is a challenging learning curve."
"It's not very fast, and it's difficult to get an answer."
"I would like their workflows and assessment automation to be more advanced compared to their competitors, especially under the pro core privacy module."
"One limitation of Securiti is that it can only classify about 30% to 40% of my data."
"Technical support needs enhancement. It would be helpful to have better documentation and more accessible support, especially when raising support tickets."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution’s pricing is a little bit high."
"It is difficult to contextualize the pricing because we are used to Indian pricing and licensing."
"Right now, we have licenses on 500 machines, and they are not cheap."
"The pricing is tremendous and super cheap. It is shockingly cheap for what you get out of it. I am happy with that. I hope that doesn't get reported back and they increase the prices. I love the pricing and the licensing makes sense. It is just assets: The more stuff that you have, the more you pay."
"We have the enterprise-level license and we renew it annually because it is worth the cost."
"In the beginning, the price of Dome9 was cheap, whereas now it is not."
"Check Point CloudGuard Posture Management is always known as a good solution but an expensive one. When you're using Cisco, Check Point, or Palo Alto, you know that you will pay more, but you know that it will work."
"I suggest that you pay attention to the product pricing because while there are no tricks, and the licensing model is transparent, the final numbers may surprise you."
