Crowdsourced triage has uncovered critical website vulnerabilities and continuously improves our security posture
Bugcrowd could be improved or enhanced as they seem to have a lot of internal churn at the moment, so they could be more stable and more customer-focused. By customer-focused, I mean they are not very good at communicating what is changing on their side to their customers. I am now on my fourth account manager within one year. My latest call with them was with the fourth account manager saying there have been many changes and apologizing that no one I have spoken to in the past is on this call, but going forwards it will be them. With the fourth account manager in a year, it is hard to trust that message.

Cloud security has strengthened compliance and now protects internet access for our workloads
The best features Check Point CloudGuard Network Security offers are its threat emulation and threat extraction blade as well as bring your own license where you can use the on-prem Check Point CloudGuard and decommission it to use in the cloud. I believe Check Point CloudGuard Network Security has impacted our organization positively because it is one of the stable products that I have used till now, and we do not have to upgrade Check Point CloudGuard Network Security for any sort of CVE or bug in its OS and it is very stable. Check Point CloudGuard Network Security has decreased the organizational risk because it provides compliance with HIPAA as well as PCI DSS by means of its compliance blade. It makes it easier for us to determine if we are compliant or not. It made me more secure because when you talk about security, Check Point CloudGuard Network Security is on top of the list with 99.8 in blocking malware according to the Miercom list. I believe it has had a positive effect and we have not had any incidents.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Bugcrowd's use of crowdsourced hackers has helped in discovering unique vulnerabilities."
"I would rate Bugcrowd a ten out of ten."
"Working on Bugcrowd has made me a better security engineer since it provides a competitive environment to report successful vulnerabilities."
"I believe Bugcrowd is highly stable."
"Bugcrowd has programs that disclose rewards and invite researchers to new programs."
"One of the features I like most about Bugcrowd is the ability to create a report in a very easy way."
"The most valuable aspect of Bugcrowd is that it provides a long list of different websites or web applications where I can report vulnerabilities."
"Bugcrowd's support team is very active and supportive."
"By being able to use real firewalls instead of the cloud's own IP tables/inferior IPS we're able to maintain security across the whole environment (on-premise and cloud)."
"We're very confident in the secure cloud deployments and migrations."
"The installation process doesn't take very long."
"The solution assures protection on cloud and ensures the workload is protected in the same manner when deployed on-premises."
"The most valuable feature is the automation and the APIs, making our life much easier for integration."
"The Identity Awareness blade and dynamic tagging in Azure are valuable because they make access management automatic. Instead of manually setting up access for each new resource, it happens automatically based on the same access policy. This dynamic setup is scalable."
"Scale Set is highly beneficial. It is easy to upgrade and maintain."
"The comprehensiveness of the CloudGuard’s threat prevention security is great, especially once they integrate Dome9 in the whole thing. That really ties the whole thing together, so you can tie your entire cloud environment together into one central location, which is nice. Previously, we had three or four different tools that we were trying to leverage to do the same stuff that we are able to do with CloudGuard."

Cons

"Bugcrowd should provide more access to the reports, similar to HackerOne, allowing for full disclosure once a bug is resolved, so researchers can learn from them."
"The triaging process has slowed down compared to three years ago."
"Bugcrowd should provide more access to the reports, similar to HackerOne, allowing for full disclosure once a bug is resolved, so researchers can learn from them. They should improve the responsibility type and response time of their customer support, especially when the issue is urgent."
"There is room for improvement in Bugcrowd's response time when customer input is needed for resolving tickets."
"Bugcrowd could be improved or enhanced as they seem to have a lot of internal churn at the moment, so they could be more stable and more customer-focused."
"The triaging process has slowed down compared to three years ago. It now takes more time to resolve a reported vulnerability and receive the payout."
"There is room for improvement in Bugcrowd's response time when customer input is needed for resolving tickets. If this time could be minimized, it would be very helpful."
"While today we can manage some scopes, there are still some segments in the OSI layer we cannot manage."
"Check Point Virtual Systems is a complete solution, but pricing can be better."
"For major upgrades, it's still necessary to destroy the VMs and re-create them again. Doing that would mean new public IPs as well."
"Zero touch removes any independence for configuring."
"Ease of management and reporting would be crucial for capacity planning and budgeting. If I see capacity increasing, I want to be able to plan appropriately."
"Stability wise the product is stable but we had issues when we had really old hardware that had a less than stable OS."
"The pricing is too high."
"The solution could improve to have a DLP feature."
