Data protection needs are supported through effective cybersecurity features
I have installed Acronis Cyber Cloud for file server backup. The second destination for the file server backup is Acronis Cloud Storage The features I find most effective for cybersecurity include reporting, vulnerability scanning, ransomware protection, and encryption. With these features,…

The ability to maintain multiple restore points is critical because it lets customers choose to restore their data to an hour or a day ago
BDRSuite is better than competing solutions because it can protect, back up, and recover data. A feature called live migration allows you to recover the same data in different environments. For example, I can back up the data from a VMware machine and restore it to a Hyper-V. You can also create repositories and back up environments to a cloud platform like GCP and AWS S3 buckets. BDRSuite allows you to back up virtual machines hosted on an EC3 instance or Microsoft 365 mailboxes, SharePoint, etc. The solution allows us to recover data instantly. We can recover all our data in under 15 minutes. In a virtual environment, we can recover a virtual machine and all its data in under 15 minutes. It's the same for a NAS, SAN, or DAS disk. The ability to boot instantly enables customers to maintain their business operations without interruption. BDRSuite's ability to maintain multiple restore points is critical because it gives customers the option to restore their data to an hour or a day ago. They can choose a full, incremental, or synthetic backup. Incremental backup makes sense if you are backing up the same data daily and you want to save space and network resources. It only backs up the differences or updates in every block. I've worked with lots of backup solutions, and BDRSuite is the easiest to use. It's simple to install and create backup jobs. It doesn't require many tasks to install the solution. You can easily back up and restore from one console

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is a highly scalable solution. Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten."
"The management of Acronis Cyber Cloud is straightforward due to its simplicity in configuration."
"With Acronis Cyber Cloud, I can protect my backups and data from cyber threats."
"The assurance that we are always protected and backed up is a significant benefit."
"The features I find most effective for cybersecurity include reporting, vulnerability scanning, ransomware protection, and encryption."
"I can expand on the fly by just adding space or the number of users."
"I would rate the overall solution as ten out of ten."
"The product is very reliable and works well out of the box; many of our customers are buying it."
"The agentless backups are the big selling point on this, as well as being able to send out across sites so that I can do a restore at either of our two locations."
"It makes it possible for us to back up our Unix machines without installing a host, client, or any client software. It gives us some peace of mind in regards to those servers getting backed up."
"The most valuable feature is the Hyper-V backup - it's just one click. I don't have to worry about it."
"The network solution is the most important feature, because we have our own backup server and are doing file backups for our customers."
"We invest in the backup so the continuity of the data is not affected."
"The main benefit is that it's inexpensive. We get a lot for a little bit of money. I'm very happy with the savings and with the features. It allows me to do everything I need."
"We are now using it 24/7 because it is serving as an online backup, and very soon, the DR will activated on the product."

Cons

"Some improvement is needed in the speed when downloading data from the cloud backups, which requires more bandwidth."
"The interface could be improved, especially the cloud configuration, which currently has many tabs."
"Pricing is still a little high, as other vendors offer better pricing."
"Sandboxing features would be beneficial."
"Support for legacy storage solutions, like tape, could be improved. Acronis Cyber Cloud only supports on-premises solutions, and I wish there were a way to implement this support with the cloud or have another backup location, other than the cloud, instead of tape."
"With respect to support, I feel that sometimes there is a delay."
"If there is any attack on the server, I would like to know whether the backup image will be in a healthy or unhealthy status. Sandboxing features would be beneficial."
"The deduplication could be better. It doesn't give the level of deduplication that I would get with a product that's stored in a more standard file format. I would prefer to be able to use a non-deduplicated store on a third-party deduplicated medium."
"They had a good product and tried to change things by going to a different product. They should have tried to stay with a product that is a proven solution and successful."
"The response time of the support could be improved a little bit. Sometimes, I need to wait for two or three hours to get support. With VMware, we can get urgent support in an hour. Other than that, I'm pretty good with BDRSuite."
"There are some limitation in Vembu that can be improved. When you take the backup from any server, the full incremental backup is limited. For example, if you run a weekly full backup and monthly backup, they cannot be run at the same time. I should not have to create a new job, but in this scenario, I am creating two jobs. The limitation is created because if I select monthly backup, then I cannot select weekly backup."
"The API uses a common data image to store the data for the sets, but unfortunately, it's limited to consecutive sets only. That's the only limitation I have observed so far."
"Vembu software runs on a Windows Server. The Windows Server has to be connected to the internet so it can connect with Vembu’s servers. It has to connect with Vembu. For some reason, if it doesn't connect, it stops working, and I don't know why on earth they do that. They require it to connect to the internet and connect with Vembu for it to continue to function. If the internet is down or if the server can't reach the internet, it stops working after a few days. That's not great because there are some people who want to do backups but they don't want to have their server accessible on the internet."
"The product is co-branded, not white-labeled."
"There's a feature that does syncing with AWS Cloud backup online. It's not that straightforward to get it set up."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The current price for the advanced version is approximately 35,000 Indian rupees."
"For our needs, the price of the backup system is not too much... We checked out Veeam and Acronis but both were very expensive compared to Vembu."
"It helps us deliver an enterprise-level data protection solution and reduce budgets at a price that - and we don't want to encourage them to change their pricing - is a great value."
"It's just the license per host with one CPU, but if I did choose offsite cloud replication, they do charge for the data. They charge per gigabyte, or something like that. They have plans."
"The pricing is fair."
"The only thing with room for improvement, as everybody says, since I'm in a home lab, would be the price for the CPU; the cost... As far as competitors' prices go, Vembu was definitely better than all the competitors I found."
"The product's pricing is of good value. It was much more affordable than the alternative solution to it, which was Veeam. That would be the closest competitor, and between those two, Vembu was much more affordable. It seemed reasonable for what we needed to do."
"The licensing model is quite complicated; it's not simple. An example: If you have a physical server, you have to pay more for that license than you do for a host. It could be running several VMs and that could be a server VM as well. Then, for web station machines, there is no license for those machines and they have no desktop OS - the free version has all this functionality. Their license model needs to be looked at and simplified."
"The license is per unit and is expensive."
