Used to manage Kubernetes infrastructure, but it doesn't have support from OCI
Spot Ocean is deployed on the cloud in our organization. I would recommend the solution to other users. You need to have an experience with Kubernetes, or else this product is of no use. It is not difficult to learn to use Spot Ocean. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution offers both block access and file access, making it a nice solution for customers."
"The solution helps us to manage and scale automatically whenever there is a limit to the increase in the application workflow."
"The virtualization, the remote management user interface, and the web console are most valuable."
"I like the capability of logging into one system, then being able to shift over to another system within that single pane of glass."
"The features that I have found most valuable are the overall good ease of use and the good interface which makes it very easy to migrate from one bare metal to another. These are the two things which I like about it."
"VMotion is the biggest feature. It gives us the ability to move things on the fly."
"The UI is very intuitive, you don't have to spend hours before you figure it out. All in all, compared to other environments, like Hyper-V, we find vSphere a lot more user-friendly and intuitive to use."
"The scalability of the solution is good. You can scale up to maximum levels."
"We use the solution's vMotion feature to migrate VMs from one host to another across different environments and data centers."
"Overall, it is a pretty good solution. We do not have to worry about upgrading the versions that people use for our in-house software. We just create ThinApps, and as soon as they log in, they always get the upgraded version. This part really works well for us."

Cons

"The solution doesn't have support from OCI, and it should start working to onboard OCI."
"There are no particular areas for improvement I can identify."
"Its price can be better. It is very expensive."
"They need to further develop graphics virtualization."
"Higher cost than other similar solutions."
"Monitoring information could always be improved."
"Customers face challenges due to increased costs after VMware's acquisition by Broadcom."
"This solution should have a better backup policy. Furthermore, there should be an ability to expose the universal machine. In the current version, you need to shutdown and use an offline virtual machine to backup."
"It could use a smaller learning curve."
"Archiving, exporting, and backing up need to be improved for this solution, because they're slower than expected."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I'm satisfied with the VMware vSphere price. They have a bundle that is priced well. However, any advantage feature is very costly."
"Our customers incur a yearly licensing fee, one of three or five years, in fact."
"In the past six months, we have saved around 110TBs of storage, which is almost equivalent to $200,000 USD. That is a huge savings."
"We are spending less on buying bigger machines, which are overprovisioned. Thus, the ROI is found in consolidation and cost savings."
"When comparing the price of VMware solutions to other vendors, such as Nutanix, they are costly."
"We pay our licensing fees on a yearly basis."
"It saves us money because we don't have to buy as many physical servers."
