Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

A fairly stable solution that’s highly mature, but has a poor user interface
The solution does not align as modern service solutions do. Seamless integration is no available among the processes. Their service management application needs a lot of work. It’s in a really bad state right now. They brought on a new interface that clumped all the processes and features of the solution into one. Still, it’s not really compatible with other solutions. Because of this, its rating has dropped in Gardner. The solution needs to improve its reporting features. The user interface needs a lot of improvements. The product needs to implement a cloud platform solution, which is lacking so far. Their workflow engine is still segregated. It’s not embedded. If you need to do some workflow approvals, you cannot do them directly on the service desk. You have to go into Outlook and do an approval or you have to go in through another screen to handle the approval because the workflow engine they have is a separate product.

Offers multi-tenancy architecture, both in terms of functionality and reporting, requires minimal configuration and no-code deployment
We're still biased towards our previous, more mature product. 4me still needs to reach that level of maturity. However, for most users, the product will do what they need. It's only when you have mature service management processes and need deeper integrations at the process level that you might encounter some limitations. But for less mature needs, 4me works well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Pulling data from web pages using Object Cloning has been an absolute delight."
"Using this solution has brought a lot of return on investment in terms of saving hours or FTEs, and we are utilizing them in more constructive areas."
"This solution saves time when completing our pharmaceutical processes, which allows things to progress faster to the FDA."
"The ROI is very good because the output is very accurate and the speed is very fast."
"IQ Bot is the most valuable integrated feature of Automation Anywhere."
"It is easy to automate SAP by using Cloning and Metabot."
"I have enjoyed using all the features of this tool, not just one feature, e.g., object cloning, Excel automation, and the web recorder."
"The ease of use and its ability to change the code when something in the main process or core process changes. The ease of use is really good."
"The support is pretty good, the follow up is great; it is 24 hours, so that’s been useful, and it has a good escalation path, which is essential."
"This is the best product for Large Infrastructure companies/organizations to monitor their infrastructures/servers etc."
"Essential service management solution all in one, like 100- for service request, 200- for change request, 300- for incidents, 400- for problems."
"The ability to add Additional Information Screens on the fly."
"It’s provided self-service and automation, notifications, and reporting, and it’s good on a day-to-day and macro perspective."
"It's quite a complete entry into the SaaS ITSM market with a reasonable price point."
"CA Technologies support is excellent."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to easily create service catalogues for our customers, something that we didn't have previously with the other tool we were using, which was SDM."
"I like their request management as well as their project management."
"The solution is highly stable."
"When compared to BMC Helix ITSM, the 4me setup is much simpler and less complicated."
"The multi-tenancy architecture, both in terms of functionality and reporting, is the best feature. It is a really well-thought, designed, and developed part of this product."
"It offers a comprehensive set of features without requiring additional payments for each feature."

Cons

"Automation Anywhere can improve the product in potential areas of improvement with respect to automation and AI."
"I suggest that they add some features in dashboard, where you can say, "These type of features are things that people like more." You want to add those to your project and showcase them to the client so they will be happier. Because you know what features people like if you give a suggestion, that is good for everyone."
"The AI centricity is a bit behind compared to the way we see Microsoft and AWS doing it. This is the feedback that I have also given to them. They need to expand themselves to provide more services than just RPA. Only RPA may not be enough for us, and it would not be our preferred choice for an automation tool."
"New versions keep coming up. The challenge for us is to have the downtime to do the migrations."
"We are at an inflection point where we have automated so much that just keeping the lights on certainly takes 20% to 50% of the time, depending on the time of year. Being able to enable the stakeholders is one of my main focuses. If we are automating their process, I want them to continue owning that as much as possible. We are just expanding on the bot insights. From a security perspective, there have been some challenges for us getting our customers in there from a role-level security perspective and making sure that they have full access to the control room and their automation after it is automated."
"We have in-house, a few variables, which we use from technical perspectives. We don't have them in Automation Anywhere, but they introduced them yesterday."
"I would like to have a command that allows me to add code, like C#. As a developer, this would be helpful."
"I have noticed that after the bots have been delivered to run in a production environment, there are issues in terms of quality and performance."
"It loses points because it’s not GUI enough, too code-y."
"I think they could update some of the interface. It doesn't look as pretty as some of the other ones."
"This is not appropriate for a small or even a medium-sized business. Too much overhead for a small company."
"The solution needs to improve its reporting features. The user interface needs a lot of improvements."
"I would love to see better two-factor authentication as that would really help us and make a big difference."
"Importing data with relations is difficult and could be better."
"We had a lot of issues with non-Windows servers during implementation."
"Actually this product and its limitations reduced the Service Desk effectiveness compared to the product we were using."
"We're still biased towards our previous, more mature product. 4me still needs to reach that level of maturity."
"Asset Discovery is a feature that should be added."
"We would like to be able to customize and brand the solution, or at least the majority of its features and dashboards, particularly those that will be used by a large number of people."
"One area where I believe there's room for improvement in the 4me system is the absence of an asset discovery tool."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Because it reduced the time duration of our processes, our costs went down."
"The setup and licensing cost is affordable, and it is not exaggerated like UiPath."
"We're on a license package with Automation Anywhere (AA), paid yearly. What would be better is for them to have different packages for different types of organization."
"I think it's $5,500 per license."
"Our annual licensing costs for the entire company are $100,000."
"As far as costs, it depends on your use. We started with a basic department pack, which is over 10K. The additional costs depend on the scale of the engagement and how it pans out. We customize to our needs on the go."
"Time-wise: We have saved hundreds of thousands of hours."
"Considering the cost, it is a bit high, but worth the price because the output accuracy is high."
Information not available
"The pricing is expensive."
"The licensing costs on the website are about $60 for pay-as-you-go. And then it decreases based on volume discounts or something."
"It is the most affordable because it is priced per month per user."
"This pricing falls on the lower end of the spectrum, making it a cost-effective option."
