Fair price, responsive support, and everything comes through as we expect
It does what you think it would do in terms of the dashboard, but we are typically migrating a subset of the users, and it always shows us the macro view. If there was a way to scope it down to just the users that are in scope, that would be more useful. It would be more useful if I could scope the dashboard. I would like to be able to scope the users that I want to see to a much smaller list. When I am looking into a tenant with 35,000 accounts, and I am only moving 2,000 of them, I wish that the guys had been smarter about the discovery, and I could have only discovered those accounts, but there is not too much to complain about. They even have a button on the console saying Send An Idea, so it is hard to fault, but I wish they could do discovery through a pop-up dialogue. I would like a drag-and-drop matching of accounts and mailboxes. I would like to be able to map multiple mailboxes from multiple sources to one mailbox.

Simple, easy, automated procedure to migrate on-premise Oracle Databases to the cloud seamlessly
For now, it is supported on the Linux platform with the 11gR2, 12cR1, 12cR2, 18c and 19c Oracle Database versions. Oracle should start supporting other operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and other OS platforms. It should also support migration between different DB versions and platforms to have this solution adopted by more companies. They should provide the interface in GUI along with the CLI. This will simplify configuration and DBAs with little experience could also start using the solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is really stable when it comes to mailbox migration and all of the following work very well: the mail content, the OneDrive for Business content, and migrating all Azure AD objects."
"The solution supports multiple workloads. We've got Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and Azure under the same place. It's really easy to see the progress in each of those areas. It's very important to have everything in one place. Otherwise, we'd have to use different platforms to handle different parts of the migration."
"We can see the issues that may come up during migration. We can handle multiple workloads using this since it connects with Microsoft 365."
"The greatest asset is its nature as a SaaS product, offering exceptional scalability and flexibility, which are invaluable to us."
"We can easily and simply work out the cost for any migration work that is required with the licensing model."
"It's very easy to use. What I like is that if there is an error, for each task, I can find out what actually went wrong."
"Quest allows you to customize your migration. For example, you can opt only to migrate Microsoft Teams and the related data or you can migrate all of Office 365. You can also choose to migrate accounts and mailboxes. Sometimes, we don't want to migrate SharePoint data, or we only want to migrate specific users."
"The data is pretty secure."
"Zero Downtime Migration provides a simple, easy automated solution for on-premise Oracle Database migration to Oracle Cloud and Exadata Cloud at Customer (ExaCC). We have used this approach to migrate a couple of our 12c databases to the cloud and managed to reduce the required downtime significantly. This approach provides pause/restart, monitoring, and auditing capabilities to help the migration process."

Cons

"One significant issue that often elicited complaints during domain migration was the need to set the primary UPN for objects once they were migrated to the target."
"They could provide on-premises to online exchange components for the platform. It would be highly valuable."
"Quest On Demand Migration needs to simplify its migration with Microsoft."
"They should introduce a module for migrating power automation for users."
"It's definitely the Microsoft Teams functionality that has a lot of aspects where improvements are needed. Microsoft 365 Groups are tightly connected to Teams and there are a lot of improvements needed there as well."
"We had some issues with migrating Teams."
"In terms of Microsoft Teams, the only disappointment for us has been how the chats are migrated. They just don't look exactly the same as they would if you were logging on as normal. Obviously, when it comes to the user experience, you want the look and feel of everything to be replicated identically, and chats is the only part of it that doesn't look identical. However, it's not a 'car crash.' It's a slight deviation from what people would expect."
"Their support interface is not so great because you need to go through several links before you can raise the ticket. Sometimes the interface freezes up, and there is some downtime. They give us some notice. It says at the top of the interface that there will be scheduled maintenance in a given region or there is currently an outage. You can see upcoming downtime in the portal and plan accordingly."
"Oracle should start supporting other operating systems, including Windows, Unix, and other OS platforms. It should also support migration between different DB versions and platforms to have this solution adopted by more companies."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I find the pricing to be cost-efficient for what you receive with the Quest product."
"The pricing is in line with other products."
"I thought On Demand Migration would be more expensive. I'm pleased with the cost that was quoted."
"We are fine with the tool's pricing."
"The solution is on the more expensive side, when you compare it not only to BitTitan but to other tools in the cloud market. Of course, you receive things like Quest's support organization."
"The product had reasonable pricing until the beginning of this year. Now, the price is increased by 20%."
"It is quite cheap. Previously, I used to work for a big company, and they get quite a good deal, and now, I'm working for a small company, and even they get quite a good deal. So, its pricing is quite fair."
"It is more than fair for what you get."
"Oracle ZDM comes absolutely free of cost. There is no additional licensing required for use of this software."
