Allows the development Microsoft products on Linux with good plugins and integrations
One of the most important things to improve is the consumption of resources, mainly memory. You also need a very powerful computer compared to Visual Studio Code or Visual Studio Enterprise. An important improvement would be the case of having more than one instance open. It is common to have more than one instance because of developing linked microservices or frontend/backend at the same time. Memory usage in this case should be optimized. The debugging of objects and their manipulation is also not optimal. Sometimes it is difficult to observe variables or very complex objects. There are also memory overflows that sometimes cause debugging to stop.

Improved efficiency and access control enhance data management while room for improvement exists in query debugging and user interface
Oracle SQL Developer has disadvantages, such as the inability to execute or debug a query in a stored procedure, which is something we had in TOAD, a licensed tool with a richer feature set. So, we're dealing with the limitations of Oracle SQL Developer. Other than the debugging feature, I wish Oracle SQL Developer had better connectivity similar to TOAD, where we could simply input the DNS name without repeatedly entering passwords. Although there is a save option in Oracle SQL Developer, TOAD had a more developer-friendly interface, which I miss. The debugging functionality was much more convenient and smooth in TOAD compared to Oracle SQL Developer. I find Oracle SQL Developer less interactive and less developer-friendly, particularly when it comes to debugging, which was easier in TOAD.

Pros

"Good support for refactoring."
"Having the complete development environment in Linux in the same way as in Windows is already the best."
"The most valuable features of Oracle SQL Developer that I use. However, I do not use all of them"
"I like it because it's very similar in output to SQL *Plus, and it has many convenience features that make it easier to read the data and use the basic reporting features it provides."
"I have a lot of flexibility with it."
"Using execution plan, I am able to do lots of query tuning."
"The newer version has a lot of new features. It generates output and scripts for your Ultrix. It can generate JSON, XML, etc."
"It allows us to implement a form of test driven development (TDD) for database-resident code."
"You can install it on every platform. It just works. The other thing is that it's free. And Oracle is committed to the development of the tool, so it has been improving."
"You do not have to install it, just dump it on the OS, then use it."

Cons

"One of the most important things to improve is the consumption of resources, mainly memory."

"The competing products have more features."
"It would be nice to have the ability to access DBs than Oracle."

"Oracle SQL Developer could improve the speed, it is a bit slow."
"If they had something on the Web then you wouldn't need to install it, just query, like Enterprise Manager."
