We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The MN backup for a cluster is most valuable because it has made backing up the GSF as a zero-file system easier. I like its stability a lot. Over the years, I very rarely had a problem with it.""The most valuable feature of the solution is application-aware backups.""We can scale. Today, we have an average backup volume of 100TB a day.""Scalability is pretty much unlimited.""Since the technology is reliable, it simplifies the backup process significantly. Now, our focus can primarily be on managing full backups and creating some offline copies.""Incremental backup is highly valuable as it allows for significant time and cost savings.""All other products contain the same features, but when I'm backing up an IBM Power server I feel more comfortable with IBM Spectrum Protect because it's the same vendor.""The solution is not complex, it's very easy to configure agents or VM backup and restore. Upgrades from one version to another are very fast and the product is very stable."

"The technical support is good.""It's most compatible with VMware. It can restore single files instead of having to restore the whole machine, once again leading to savings for the company.""It is scalable.""The most valuable feature of the solution is its integration with Veeam Backup & Replication console.""It's simple to use.""The ease of use for the graphical interface and the ease of installation are the most valuable features of this solution.""The user interface is good.""The initial setup was straightforward. It's not complicated. It takes around half an hour to implement, but it depends on the performance of the server that you are installing the backup software on."

Cons
"There were scalability issues only in the brand new features which were recently released.""Stability is very good now. It used to be rocky years ago.""Perhaps if they could add replication to a second site or third site from the same console, that would be helpful. Currently, we have to connect to another console.""Needs more support for non-mainstream databases, in particular PostgreSQL, SQL, and MySQL.""In the next version of the solution, I would like to see cloud support.""I am looking forward to new features in the next release. One of the main features is the cloud storage integration, which was one of my main required features. I've had more difficult experiences with other platforms than with this one.""I would love to see something which allows us to do an auto restart of backup jobs.""They are behind on many things, especially security. They are catching up a little bit now, but the competitors are doing better security-wise. There should be malware detection and prevention and higher security."

More IBM Spectrum Protect Cons →

"There isn't much to improve. They just need to follow the trend or the development of other Linux products. Follow in terms of making the product compatible with new versions of Linux. They just need to include as many versions for Linux as possible.""In new releases, I hope they can support Oracle cloud.""The pricing could be lowered if possible.""It's scalable, but it's not scalable on every platform.""There is a compatibility issue with HCI.""The integration needs improvement.""It would be much better if more applications were supported on the Linux side. For example, their agent for Windows not only can back up the Windows machine, but it can also back up Active Directory for granular restore, SQL servers, Exchange, Oracle, SharePoint, etc. When it comes to Linux, only Oracle databases are supported. There are workarounds, though.""I would like to be able to install Veeam directly to Linux instead of having to go through a Windows server."
