Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"I like the firewall features, Snort, and the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).""The feature set is fine and is rarely a problem.""The customer service/technical support is very good with this solution.""The most valuable features of this solution are the integrations and IPS throughput.""You do not have to do everything through a command line which makes it a lot easier to apply rules.""The most valuable feature is the access control list (ACL).""The most valuable feature that Cisco Firepower NGFW provides for us is the Intrusion policy.""The Adversity Malware Protection (AMP) feature is the most valuable. It is also very easy to use. Every technical user can operate this solution without any difficulty. The dashboard of Cisco Firepower has every tool that a security operator needs. You can find every resource that you need to operate through this dashboard."

"I had no difficulty using the Huawei NGFW.""The support for the solution has been excellent. If we ever had an issue they would send an engineer to help us with our problem.""We make use of the new data center, specifically the containerized data center which is built and reviewed by Huawei, including all the device's infrastructure.""Huawei was able to assist us in the installation of their product. The installation was very fast.""The security is good. It's as effective as anything else on the market.""The user interface is very, very good.""I like that the initial setup is straighforward. It's also a scalable solution.""The mapping features and traffic logging are good."

"Great reporting feature and great customer support.""I like the dashboard, the interface, the management console, and the remote login.""The most valuable feature I have found to be the reporting function.""Sophos CG is cost-effective, which makes it really suitable for SMB. If you want basic security and more embedded features, go with Sophos XG.""They really work scalability into the solution at the outset.""Definitely, its usability is very good, and it's a very robust firewall.""The most valuable feature is the central dashboard""Great interface and in-built help is very intuitive."

Cons
"The visibility for VPN is one big part. The policy administration could be improved in terms of customizations and flexibility for changing it to our needs.""The initial setup can be a bit complex for those unfamiliar with the solution.""Web filtering needs improvement because sometimes the URL is miscategorized.""It would be great if some of the load times were faster.""FirePOWER does a good job when it comes to providing us with visibility into threats, but I would like to see a more proactive stance to it.""Its interface is sometimes is a little bit slow, and it can be improved. When you need to put your appliance in failover mode, it is a little difficult to do it remotely because you need to turn off the appliance in Cisco mode. In terms of new features, it would be good to have AnyConnect VPN with Firepower. I am not sure if it is available at the moment.""My team tells me that other solutions such as Fortinet and Palo Alto are easier to implement.""The performance should be improved."

"With the Huawei firewall, none of the features comes at the top. We found out later that customer support is really not good. For this firewall, because of our customers' routine, for example, every six months they'll do a penetration test to find weaknesses. So whenever they came up with VAPT reports, they are looking to Huawei for help. I think that's basically because it's a different culture. Chinese culture and our culture is different. They have always tried to help find some excuses or say some other things that cannot help you solve the problem immediately.""The documentation needs to be improved. When they retire old models, they also retire the documentation. However, if you are still using an older model, you still need access to that documentation. And yet, they go ahead and removed it. It's gone. You are therefore stuck with a device with no documentation and technical support that isn't very helpful as they also remove support assistance as well.""The solution is scalable but it is difficult because you need to purchase new systems, it is not just one click.""The solution doesn't seem to be very mature. Our networking team says they are experiencing a lot of issues in the firewalls and some routers.""Wi-Fi scanning and Wi-Fi analysis would be useful features to include in the future.""The solution could be more secure and have better integration.""The solution requires a more interactive dashboard. That would make it easier than playing with configurations the way we have to now.""I would like to see an antivirus solution included with the product."

More Huawei NGFW Cons →

"I need to open the email to see what it contains and the value of it before I know whether to access it or not.""Sophos XG could improve the policies, they are a bit confusing when creating them. There are many options that make it confusing and it could be simplified.""We are not very happy with the customer support they provide — it's quite slow.""Sophos XG's user interface has some room for improvement.""The reporting could be improved in this solution by adding more details.""The user interface could be better.""I do prefer when updates come out a bit quicker.""The management console could be improved and the solution lacks good technical support."
