Replication monitor feature is helpful in that it allows a quick view of the status, errors, and results of the last replication
We appreciate the ease of use in this solution. It looks like File Explorer, where you set up your source and targets. Replications are created simply by using the replication wizard. It also has functionality for scheduling, verification, and alerts. The ability to write code for transformations is very useful. Once the replications are set up it is simple to maintain. The Replication monitor is helpful in that it allows a quick view of the status, errors, and results of the last replication. Replication logs and history files are very useful for determining problematic data issues. The transaction latency tool is also helpful for determining how many connections are required for larger files. The replication types that are available are: Refresh Only, Continuous, and Synchronization. We currently use Refresh Only (scheduled refreshes), and Continuous. The source and target table verification is very helpful for running checks. The Replication Monitor is also a great plus, which shows a quick view of the replication status.

Drag and drop capabilities simplify service development for easy building
It is drag and drop. Drag and drop make it easier to build the service end to end. It is easier to build services with BusinessWorks. When I have an architecture designed to plug in the service itself with BW, it makes things much easier. It is easy to integrate, especially when the architecture is well-designed.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable features are that is easy to install and it is user-friendly."
"DBMoto was very simple to set up and move our tables to the Oracle DB."
"The most valuable part of the solution is the ease-of-use and ease of deployment."
"The ability to link to different technologies is valuable to us."
"It is a very robust system."
"We use the solution to develop applications."
"The tool's most valuable feature is BusinessConnect. It's an older product but still quite useful, especially for transferring files from one location to another."
"I work in operations, so I value BusinessWorks' performance the most."
"It is very valuable for my work, helping me communicate with other branches, parse data, and change data formats to respond to the front channels with the correct format."
"The OSGI console is available to debug different issues and get low level informations on the applications development, like bundle, dependencies, etc."

Cons

"This product would be improved with additional built-in functions for simpler date conversion, as well as for data type transformations."
"Pricing is an area that needs improvement."
"A possible improvement could be to give the capability to use different profiles for each AppNode when an application is deployed on an AppSpace."
"The learning curve takes time compared to webMethods."
"Performance and latency could be enhanced. Additionally, having signaling stack support would be beneficial."
"The challenges I have faced with TIBCO BusinessWorks mostly relate to financial applications that do not come with those adapters, so that requires custom coding."
"There are not many plugins available to integrate the databases. We have to write it in Java and integrate it. The developers should have more knowledge. These are the three main aspects that they could improve."
"This solution's cloud could be improved. I don't know whether it was because we didn't have the internal expertise or if it was the product itself, but since they came later—I think only two or three years into the cloud—after many other iPaaS that had been in the cloud for longer, I feel that maybe they haven't matured in terms of the cloud."
"The cost has room for improvement."
"Could be more user friendly in the development area."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I found the price to be quite reasonable."
"Customers pay a license fee yearly."
"I think BusinessWorks is more expensive compared to other products. We have the ELA, so at least we have some sort of bargain or discount with that. But for a start-up, it's very expensive compared to other ESBs."
"The solution is too expensive. It's one of the most expensive solutions out there, particularly because there are so many open-source competitors on the market. I don't know the exact numbers, however."
"The cost depends on the components required."
"The payments made for service are the only addition to the standard licensing fees that we pay for the solution."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a three out of ten."
"I don't have the prices of the products, but I know that TIBCO is not a cheap solution. I think that this solution is more suitable for large companies because I don't think that small- or medium-sized companies would have the money for this solution. WSO2 has the community version for free, so many of the smaller companies can use it. I'm not sure what the prices are for support, though, so I suppose the support for WSO2 is not cheap either."
"The product is not cheap."
"The license is expensive, and I would rate it one out of ten."
