Has out of the box features , which is good for companies that don't want to spend too much time on research
I've noticed a few UI issues. For example, when monitoring services and tasks, sometimes the tasks keep disconnecting. If you open the shell in HashiCorp Nomad using the exit button, it often disconnects, and you have to log in again. Sometimes, when I check the logs in the UI for microservices tasks, I encounter an issue where the logs are not visible. However, if I log in again after some time, refresh the page, or check a different container, the logs usually appear. These logs are being generated, as I can see them being shipped to my LogView. I'm not sure if this is a product issue or something related to our deployment, but I've noticed it.

Centralized cluster deployment has improved remote site operations and supported hybrid application models
The initial setup was not straightforward. It was challenging, but then it was manageable. It is relatively easy, but we do have challenges. Not everything is straightforward. There are things that can be addressed. In a couple of cases, we needed some third-party expertise to ensure that we did it correctly. In most cases, we were able to do it on our own. When hosting something on Azure and connecting with an HTTPS link, there are some dependencies that need to be tweaked on Nutanix. Otherwise, it does not communicate with the on-premises infrastructure. There were a few tweaks that we struggled with for almost a couple of days. That was not part of the original design manual. We needed to make some tweaks within the cluster ourselves to achieve the goal. There were some shortcomings in the design that we had to customize ourselves to achieve, especially integration with Azure Cloud.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"You could get most of HashiCorp Nomad's features from other microservice orchestrators like Kubernetes. The tool's advantage is its ease of use and integration with services like Envoy. With Kubernetes, you must think about many things, like UI integration, which vault to use, and how to discover the service. With the tool, many things come out of the box, making it easy to start. For example, using the Ingress proxy with the tool is quite easy, while it's trickier with Kubernetes."
"If you face an issue with an image during deployment, the solution will automatically revert to the last stable image."
"Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) has very good customer support, the product is very stable and resilient, and I did not find any lags or system failures."
"Compared to Azure or Amazon, Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) is not as secure, but the new edition may improve these functionalities."
"Before working with Nutanix Kubernetes (NKP), I was working on Dockers, which required separate setups for each microservice, application, or web server, but now everything is under one umbrella, allowing us to manage it all without going here and there."
"The platform is stable."
"We have great support from Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) and the experience has been excellent; the relationship maintained with the team in India is particularly strong, and the support directly from Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) itself has been exceptional."
"The stability of Nutanix is exceptional; when operational, it performs flawlessly and demonstrates remarkable resilience."
"Overall, in my opinion, the best features of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) are a unified user experience and a unified platform to manage all Kubernetes clusters."
"It helped me to orchestrate the microservice architecture on Kubernetes easily, without spending a lot of time to implement Kubernetes myself."

Cons

"It would be good to have a UI interface so that developers could receive notifications for jobs in a bad state."

"A significant limitation of the Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) is its requirement for extensive Kubernetes knowledge."
"The reviewer has experience with Cisco and expressed a preference for Cisco over Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP)."
"So it's not user-friendly; it's still not easy for a junior engineer, as it still requires some experienced engineer."
"I was very disappointed with the air gap implementation; it was not fully air-gapped as it should be and you still need to open access to multiple cloud services."
"Regarding the stability and reliability of Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP), I sometimes worry about incidents that occur, but we don't receive a clear explanation of what happened."
"There are some limitations with the non-air gap version as it requires complete internet access, which poses restrictions due to government regulations."
"One drawback was that Nutanix required a higher number of nodes compared to VMware."
