Has enabled secure, centralized file sharing while saving significant time and resources
The best features in GoAnywhere MFT are that it's fast, reliable, and secure. First, the improvement is that we have resolved one of our security points with compliance. So that compliance point we resolved. And also it's a centralized file sharing system. All the users are able to access the file. There is no one-to-one sharing. It's improved about 80 to 85%. It saves about 80 to 90% resources. In terms of time, we can say 90 to 95% time is also saved because it avoids the one-to-one sharing and simply a user can put one centralized directory and all the users are able to access this solution and access the file. So it's 95%.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We like that GoAnywhere helps to centralize the exchange of data among our systems, employees, and customers."
"If it's dealing with SFTP or any kind of secure transfer, we don't hear about it. It's good. Everything works."
"The system is user-friendly and has significantly helped us meet our goals, particularly in file transfer."
"The scheduler automatically encrypts the data and sends it to the corresponding email IDs or the corresponding cloud platforms automatically without any manual intervention."
"GoAnywhere makes it easy to move files around. We have quite a bit of information we have to transfer to around 300 different companies that require us to send data on a regular basis. If we did this manually, it would require several employees."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"We are a review website for enterprise IT, and we perform two main functions: First, we publish these reviews for other people to read, either publicly or anonymously; second, we work directly with vendors who are interested in understanding what users think about their product."
"GoAnywhere centralizes data exchanges, helping to facilitate file transfers between our critical systems."
"The technical support from Thru is great."
"The stability of Thru is very good."

Cons

"The customer support is a bit slow from their end. The time lag they take to respond to our queries is more than expected, so I would give a solid seven out of ten for the customer support."
"On the platform side, I would like to see some improvements in the dashboarding and telemetry data."
"I tried to copy a file from an S3 bucket to another storage class. I don't know if it is a limitation from AWS, not the MFT. If I copy a file from the AWS S3 bucket to that storage class, it can't be transferred. It says that I can't remember the exact error, but it cannot be processed. I want MFT to be more compatible with cloud-based applications or services like AWS."
"One area for improvement in GoAnywhere MFT is that they don't have a real debugger. You have to manually walk through your projects. If you build a big scripting project, you have no way at the beginning to step through; you can't skip straight to a line, nor can you put a breakpoint and say, 'stop here' as in any normal debugging process."
"Recently, Microsoft published an article stating that GoAnywhere MFT can be attacked by ransomware, indicating there was a vulnerability in the product."
"The security features must be updated regularly."
"Security measures still have a long way to go, but since GoAnywhere MFT focuses on IT automation, this enables the company to provide IT staff with more productivity on other aspects of their jobs."
"Sometimes, during the transfer of multiple files, some files may get lost, and we have no clear way of identifying which have moved successfully since the log feature does not provide this information clearly."
"The initial setup of Thru needed an engineer to be involved."
"We purchased the basic solution, only to realize that there is an add-on model that would allow us to manage workflows automatically. However, it was very expensive, so we did not use it."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It would be good for the company to explore a modular approach to selling the product so it could be cheaper and more attractive to users."
"The pricing is decent for mid-sized and small-sized companies. It is good for startups or mid-scale companies."
"Pricing is based on a one-time license."
"The pricing for GoAnywhere MFT seems reasonable when compared to other similar services, especially cloud services. Azure is significantly more expensive."
"The product's pricing is reasonable."
"GoAnywhere's price is justified by its features and the time it saves me."
"It has flexible and affordable pricing because of custom quotes. The prices depend on the modules one needs and the volume of data being transferred. Overall, they offer custom and flexible pricing with an annual subscription, where you pay for specific features and functionality required."
"GoAnywhere was the most attractively priced product that met our needs. In our PoC it really came down to MOVEit and GoAnywhere, and GoAnywhere's pricing was about 30 percent less."
"Overall, the price of the solution is good for what it does, but when you want to add some features it can get expensive."
