Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable features are query optimization and the single language independence from the sources we're using to catch data.""The data abstraction is the most valuable feature.""Denodo is lightweight in terms of how it leads you to combine your discrete data systems at one spot.""Denodo's best features are its performance, easy data transformation, and the job scheduler.""In PL/SQL, first you need to gather all the data and then start writing the file, but in Denodo you fetch the data and write the data simultaneously. So, for example, if you have 1 million or 2 million records, you don't have to wait to fetch all of the 2 million; you can keep on fetching and writing in the file simultaneously.""It is easy to virtualize data using the solution.""It can support a number of data sources, and it can pull flat files, from cloud-based databases or from those on-premises. Denodo can pull from any data source and interface with the view. Then, we can publish the view.""The most valuable features are data lineage and the concept of a semantic layer."

"Oracle Data Integrator helps us build tables and data marts and allows us to schedule them daily, for nearly real-time data warehousing.""The solution is easy to manage and offers good integration. You can run all the tasks one by one which is really helpful, and pick the day and time to do so.""Having a single vendor supporting the entire suite of applications.""The data is stored in the cloud, making it easy to download data simultaneously into multiple smaller servers, effectively downsizing the process.""The most valuable thing to me is its simplicity. A person with zero knowledge can also develop the integration without having extensive technology knowledgebase. They can also work on creating their own integration.""Oracle integration cloud has got the adapters for all their products, which makes integration faster.""It's on the cloud, so it's scalable and quite easy to work with."

Cons
"Performance management could be improved.""Denodo's training documentation could be improved by providing more material. From an administrative standpoint, I've found that only Denodo websites provide the usual tutorials. It may be because it's a bit of a restricted tool, but it results in trouble with learning. Normally, I can find help and solutions from other sources, but I haven't been able to find any for Denodo. Other that, it's fine and it performs well. I only have six months of experience, so I can't accurately suggest improvements.""Denodo can improve usage management-related aspects. If you deal with the mini views, it gets stuck. The performance is very slow when we go with a large number of views and high volume.""It would be good if the solution provided a much-needed cellular platform.""I would like it if we could pull the data model or export the data model because Denodo has, based on how you build, something called associations. The data model gets very confusing when you go look at it. It depends on how you define it, but it's really huge. I wish there was a way to export it into Visio. It could be that they already have a way to do it, and I don't know, but it would be much easier for the architects and even for the developers to look at it than scrunching it into the screen and expanding every small portion of it. If there was an easy way to export the Denodo model into another modeling tool and view it, it would be great.""There have been some issues when you are at a table. Currently, Denodo exports data sets for a tabular model. When you are finished modeling your database or data warehouse they export a link to be used in Tableau. They should support other tools like Power BI.""There are a couple of areas that can be improved in Denodo. From a stability point of view, sometimes we see issues in the data management functionality. This only happens now and then, however, and usually takes place when we add in our own customization.""Documentation needs to be improved"

More Denodo Cons →

"The pricing could be more competitive.""It can be made much easier for users. They should be allowed to easily monitor the data extraction and flow, allowing them to observe real-time data flow within the software, making the process straightforward.""I've found technical support not very effective. They should work to improve their services.""This is an expensive solution compared to other products on the market.""I would like to see different cloud adapters or connectors in case of integration. When you have Oracle to Oracle, they are good. They have really good connectors, but if it is a different ERP, like Obsidian, that is where they are faced with problems in OIC.""It's lacking a lot of mapping features that Oracle OSB and SOA have. It needs to evolve a lot.""Bulk uploading can be a problem when you hit the upper limit."

  • "I don't know the actual cost, but it's tens of thousands of dollars per month."
  • "The licensing charges for this solution are payable annually."
  • "The pricing is pretty good, and I would rate it at four out of five."
  • "Cost wise, on a scale from one to five, with one being the cheapest and five being the most expensive, Denodo would be at three. We get all the features in a bundle."
