Good support, and this product well-suited to our size of environment
We use these rack servers for terminal operating systems The initial setup could be easier. I have been working with Cisco UCS C-Series Rack Servers for five years. This is a stable product. For our use case, this product is scalable up to 16 blades, including two sites. I don't know how well…

Supports business apps and VDI with reliable compute
The solution is all about compute. The solutions are easy to handle, priced correctly, reliable, and dependable. Cisco is similar but more complex to configure and usually more expensive. My team supports a lot of Dell, focusing on hybrid environments like Azure Stack, splitting workloads between high compute needs in databases, which are expensive in the cloud, and other workloads in the cloud.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is very nice and stable with an easy administration GUI."
"The technical support from Cisco is fine."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is performance."
"The product doesn't take up too much space on the rack and I like that."
"The product's stability is good. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine to ten out of ten."
"The server can be configured easily."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the expansion and replacement of parts."
"It is very stable and easy to use. It integrates easily with Cisco's cloud-based UC solutions. There are tools for management that make the management a bit easier, but we don't use them. We don't use what you would term as power users."
"The scalability of the solution met our needs."
"I like the feature that allows for a backup and that is suitable for me."
"Technical support has been helpful."
"PowerEdge C is the best server I have worked with. I like that it's user-friendly. PowerEdge C performs very well."
"PowerEdge servers have high CPU processing power, and the support is also good."
"The scalability of the product is good since it offers high performance and capacity."
"The product's initial setup phase was easy."
"The most significant benefits, in my experience, are the configuration, reliability of the equipment, and the support of Dell."

Cons

"Cisco UCS C-Series Rack Servers could improve by adding a wider portfolio because they only have two main categories, the C-220 and 240. There is no wide range of options as other solutions have, such as Dell. Additionally, if it was more flexible with the configuration it would be good."
"The C-Series is not designed to be as scalable. They are designed to have enough RAM and enough CPU on their own side. If you want scalability, it's better to choose the B-Series— the Blade Servers — because those are much more scalable with Fabric Interconnect."
"The solution can be improved by adjusting the cost."
"Definitely the support area needs improving. Especially the time response in case of hardware failure."
"Cisco UCS C-Series Rack could improve by selling storage. Cisco doesn't sell storage, which is a problem because some customers ask for storage. There are several brands in the market, such as HPE, and Dell EMC. However, Cisco doesn't have any storage. This is where the tension comes from buying this solution."
"The improvement should be done as per customer requirements."
"Some customers have complained about delivery time. So, the main weakness is the lead time."
"Its accessibility and manageability can be improved. Currently, we have to visit the office to manage it. It should be manageable outside our network. I would like it to be on the cloud."
"An area where the product lacks and needs to consider improvement is by allowing it to integrate with some AI tool for monitoring."
"The pricing of PowerEdge solutions is very high nowadays."
"For improvements, the iDRAC application isn't very intuitive to handle."
"There has been an increase in quality issues."
"The reliability needs improvement."
"There could be some more ports added in the future."
"It should be improved in terms of future expansion. We should be able to have additional free slots for future extensions in terms of memory."
"The product’s cost needs improvement."
