Scalable and flexible platform with significant challenges related to complexity, cost management, and the need for skilled personnel
There are a couple of significant challenges we're currently facing. First, our production team can't make use of the production planning features, as they require a Professional license and we only have access to the Logistics license, which is limiting our capabilities. The majority of the reports we generate are intended for managerial purposes. While most reports are straightforward to comprehend, there are a few exceptions that can be quite complex. It would be beneficial to have access to real-time data from our machines. This is crucial for monitoring all activities within our manufacturing processes, from software operations to the machinery used.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Certinia ERP is user-friendly and provides comprehensive support for accounting-related tasks."
"It has features like bank reconciliation and the financial report builder which enhance operational efficiency."
"The most valuable feature of SAP Business One is its reporting capability."
"The modules, like the accounting and procurement modules, especially the finance and accounting modules, are quite impressive in the solution."
"The initial setup of the product seems to be good."
"Technical support from SAP is great."
"The way we can make changes in new fields, or make new rules with our IT department, has been very useful."
"As a business technology platform, it is a flexible platform. It enables the customer to do faster integrations, and the solution's functioning requires low cost."
"With the tool, there is no shutdown or breakdown time my company experiences."
"It is well-established and caters to our user base efficiently."

Cons

"The bank statement feature takes a lot of time and can be improved to make reconciliation quicker."
"The customer support takes too long to respond, which could be improved by focusing on reducing the time for issue resolution."
"Not a ten because it's not software for a structured company or something very big. That is my impression."
"There are limitations of SAP Business One. It's a complex topic, and exploring options like SAP HANA is challenging at the moment. Understanding the limitations of ERP requires thorough research. I suggest conducting some preliminary investigations into ERP products before making a decision. We chose SAP Business One as it caters to SMEs like ours, acknowledging and accepting its limitations. While a larger product exists, switching would entail budget considerations due to the ongoing implementations. Therefore, the current situation with SAP Business One is not a matter of concern."
"The solution has a feature that shows you the purchase order that you put on a project and requires you to approve it to be applied to the project, but it doesn't let you move the purchase order to another project. That would be a great feature to have, because if you don't approve it, you have to delete everything and make it again."
"The AI tools, programming languages, and dashboard customization should be easier."
"The technical support from SAP is very restricted to its knowledge base. It does not add much beyond what is already available in the knowledge base."
"The browser access needs to improve, as everybody in the industry knows how limited it is."
"SAP Business One on AWS could improve by adding more functionality to the web client."
"There is some room for improvement with the scalability and the pricing of the product."
