Convenience in deployment process with room for code preview improvement
Having a better preview would be helpful. Sometimes, if my Lambda code is too big, it can be inconvenient as I'm unable to see my code when it exceeds a certain size. AWS has a limit, like a three-megabyte limit, beyond which I cannot view or edit the code easily.

Used to manage Kubernetes infrastructure, but it doesn't have support from OCI
Spot Ocean is deployed on the cloud in our organization. I would recommend the solution to other users. You need to have an experience with Kubernetes, or else this product is of no use. It is not difficult to learn to use Spot Ocean. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The support from AWS Lambda is very good, they are responsive."
"It's a serverless solution which is the best feature. It helps us because it offers free aspects. From the infrastructure perspective, it helps us manage costs. There is no overhead of estimating how much infrastructure we're going to need. We can focus on building the business functionality that we want to build."
"It is a scalable solution."
"I like the pay-for-what-you-use feature. This is the main reason why we use AWS Lambda. I don't have to manage servers; I just have to configure Lambda and expose it to an API gateway."
"The solution integrates well with API gateways and S3 events via its AWS ecosystem."
"The most valuable feature of AWS Lambda, from a conceptual point, is its functions. For example, it's mathematical templates into which you can write, and create your solution. You write small pieces of a solution under given parameters."
"Some of the most valuable features are that it's easy to install and use. The performance is also good."
"The utilization of containers is particularly beneficial in overcoming the size limitations imposed on Lambda functions which not only allows us to work around these constraints but also contributes to the improvement and maintenance of our code."
"The solution offers both block access and file access, making it a nice solution for customers."
"The solution helps us to manage and scale automatically whenever there is a limit to the increase in the application workflow."

Cons

"We need to invest time in learning the tool's language variant. We have encountered instances of downtime as well."
"AWS Lambda could be improved with better stability."
"I want to see support for longer applications. I need the 15-minute time-out window to improve."
"AWS Lambda needs to improve its stability."
"If you are setting it up on hybrid solution, there is a lot of work that needs to go in."
"The tool changes its UI every month which is very frustrating for me. I don’t know why AWS keeps changing the UI. They can’t stick to a specific one"
"The user-friendliness of the solution could be improved."
"The metrics and reporting for this solution could be improved."
"There are no particular areas for improvement I can identify."
"The solution doesn't have support from OCI, and it should start working to onboard OCI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Price-wise, AWS Lambda is a five out of ten."
"I would rate the tool’s pricing a nine out of ten. The solution’s pricing works on a pay-as-you-go basis."
"The solution is part of the AWS subscription model that is paid annually."
"You're not paying for a server if you're not using it, which is another reason I like it. So, you're not paying if you're not using it. It scales, and you're charged based on usage. It all depends on the use case. Some can be extremely inexpensive if you have very low volume transaction rates. That way, you don't have to fire up and absorb the cost of the servers just sitting there waiting for a transaction to come through. You're only paying when you use it. So, depending upon the use model, Lambda could be highly efficient relative to an EC2 solution. You don't have to have things reallocated."
"The price of the solution is reasonable and it is a pay-per-use model. It is very good for cost optimization."
"It costs maybe less than $10 per month in my use case."
"Lambda is a good and cheap solution and I would recommend it to those without a huge payload."
"This is a product that is pay-per-use, as opposed to a licensing fee."
