Good automation, statistics gathering, and reporting, with helpful technical support
The initial setup is simple. It took a few weeks to set up and test, before going live. There is some maintenance required. We have to allocate the storage often. We have a team within App Ux, the vendor, who supports us, and the engineering team within the F5M security team manages that.

Pros

"Everybody is quite happy with the way that the graphical user interface works."
"The solution is very stable."

"FortiManager offers a full zero-touch provisioning feature that allows us to create a template of our devices and onboard them remotely without visiting the site."
"The solution has the best stability for application control and inspections."
"It can scale well."
"It is easy to deploy to licenses."

Cons

"Anything to do with storage needs improvement."
"FortiManager should improve the integration with third-party platforms."
"Pricing-wise, it could always be less, even though it is less expensive than Palo Alto."
"There may be a communication issue. However, other items may be the culprit, such as network connectivity. It depends on the customer's network."
"When we have a specific configuration pushed it does take some time to be deployed on the actual firewall."
"The GUI could be updated. It's not as good as it could be and is something the solution should improve in an upcoming release."
"Their EDR products could be better. They need to dedicate more R&D to that area."
"The GUI is not ideal."
"There are a lot of bugs that need to be fixed, for example, the ZTP."
