Michael has over 23 years of information technology (IT) experience, with competencies in the public sectors of government, healthcare and law enforcement. Michael’s skill-set spans the IT functional area, from strategic governance to operational management, incorporating proficiencies in project management, IT service management and best practice assurance through COBIT governance.
Michael holds industry standard certifications in risk and information systems control (CRISC), the governance of enterprise IT (CGEIT), management consulting (CMC) and project management (PMP). Committed to the IT professional community, Michael is currently President of the Edmonton Chapter of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), a Director on the Alberta provincial board of the CAMC (Canadian Association of Management Consultants) and a former Vice President of PMINAC (Project Management Institute - Northern Alberta Chapter).
Michael’s current passion is to facilitate the creation, implementation and sustainability of IT governance frameworks for strategic direction in certifying that business objectives are realized, risks are managed and resources are utilized effectively.
