SubhajitAich - PeerSpot reviewer
A stable solution that can be used for infrastructure vulnerability scanning and web application scanning
Qualys Web Application Scanning is very complex to use, and its graphical interface is not very user-friendly. Compared to other solutions like Tenable and Rapid7, you need to navigate a lot to get the actual results out of Qualys Web Application Scanning. If I have to search for one thing within the entire console, I have to look for it randomly. It's not very easy and very comfortable to find something. Overall, it's a very good solution, but it will be very good if the tool is more user-friendly.

Test assurance improves compliance and products with good performance
The user interface could be improved to facilitate easier navigation. The most significant issue I encounter with the solution is the user interface. It would be beneficial if I could remain on one screen most of the time. Even if the system navigates me to another screen, it should effectively return me to the main screen.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool links vulnerabilities with DDIs and gives a complete overview of the application. The continuous monitoring capability is good."
"The feature that I have found most valuable is the progressive scan. It is good. It's done in 24 hours."
"It is a very stable solution."
"Licensing is the most valuable. Qualys provides the best licensing for companies. It is the best product for the development purposes of web applications. The product has a lot of integrations."
"Qualys WAS' most valuable features are the navigation flow of the UI and the option for a different layer of security (identification and operation through email and mobile)."
"With our vulnerabilities under control, it's putting our services in compliance and minimizing our risk for exposure."
"It is easy to use."
"It is a good product for website penetration testing to detect vulnerabilities."
"The testing compliance feature is particularly impressive."
"The feature I find most valuable is the traffic generator."
"CyberFlood is flexible."
"CyberFlood's best features are its user-friendliness and scheduling function."
"Our customers use it to check for unauthorized file transfer."
"The testing compliance feature is particularly impressive."

Cons

"I would like it to be cheaper because it is a bit expensive compared to competitors like Tenable Nessus."
"We procured around 110 licenses for Web Application Scanning, but we have issues running concurrent scans. I don't currently have the option to trigger scans for all 100-plus websites. The default limit is around 10 conference scans. It's not very scalable, to be honest, because of the limitation that they put on concurrent scans."
"The authenticated scanning feature could be improved by adding support for real-time scanning tokens and authorization tokens."
"The product's pricing could be better."
"The product should allow users to upload their payloads."
"Qualys Web Application Scanning is very complex to use, and its graphical interface is not very user-friendly."
"Deployment can be complicated."
"In terms of the Policy Compliance model which they currently have, not all the platforms are being covered. If they could improve on the Policy Compliance model, since there are policies which are benchmarked against it, this will be helpful for us."
"The user interface could be improved to facilitate easier navigation."
"Sometimes, when you configure parameters the hardware can't run, it will get stuck at those points without telling you what happened. It would be helpful if the error reporting provided more details about why the test setting is not running. It would be nice if there were a space in the hardware module for you to add some external hardware for more rigorous testing."
"CyberFlood's accessibility and support for multiple browsers could be better."
"The initial setup is not straightforward and can be quite challenging."
"The solution needs more ports, more speed, and more gigabytes."
"I would also like to see updates on a more frequent schedule."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pricing was reasonable and competitive. It was not too far above the other products."
"We normally purchase an annual license."
"There are different options available with respect to licensing."
"Licensing was based on the number of assets that you want to scan on your network. You can also do licensing on subscription. On subscription, it is easier and more flexible. You tell Qualys that you want to move from the 1000 to 2000 band or the 3000 or 5000 band, then they will give you the quotation for it. Once you pay for it, applying the licensing is quite easy and effective."
"Qualys WAS' pricing is competitive."
"We are on an annual license for the solution and the pricing could be more affordable."
"Qualys Web Application Scanning's pricing is a bit expensive compared to other solutions available in the market."
"It is best to be an institutional buyer and directly contact the sales team, as they can provide over-the-top discounts for bulk orders."
"CyberFlood is reasonably priced."
