Government Agency Zero Trust Strategy

Scott Scheidt - PeerSpot reviewer

Project Description

Lead a team that developed the Zero Trust Playbook for a US government agency. This included alignment with DoD Zero Trust Strategy and the 2022 update to the National Cybersecurity Strategy. This Zero Trust Playbook will carry the agency forward in its Zero Trust journey at least through the end of 2027.

Lessons Learned

Have more conversations earlier about expectations and priorities of effort. When working on a project for such a large agency there are many leaders with competing priorities in regards to services, products, and department mission timelines that have a great effect on developing an overall strategy. You can not just create an industry best practice and push it into an organization and this high fo scale. It has to be integrated based on the functional needs of organizational departments and the missions or operational tasks they are expected to meet.
