Improved our cybersecurity resilience with two-factor authentication.
Duo Security has improved our cybersecurity resilience with two-factor authentication. Duo Security secures our infrastructure from end to end, especially in terms of what our end users are using. We get an alert if there's something unusual, which doesn't happen often, but it allows us to look at and remediate any issues. Fortunately, we haven't had any attacks that I know of, so it has been good. Duo Security does its job in terms of user authentication and device verification for helping to prevent identity-based attacks. Duo Security reduces the risk of breaches. I haven't seen anything that I would switch to. Duo Security seems to work for establishing trust for every access request, no matter where it comes from. That's something that we ask of such solutions. I don't want to have to interact with it very much.

Good authentication options, but the setup can be complex and the user interface should be improved
Many of the users with licenses are not getting their IPs all of the time. It seems that the licenses are not active on the user end. There are multiple errors. At times, when the user is trying to scan and activate the license, it comes up with an error code. The user interface could be improved. The setup could be simplified. The mobile app that is available for Digipass does not scan the QR code to activate the license. Users would like to see more functions and creation options for the user base and the UI console. They are not getting all of the features that are available on the UI Console. The features are the same but they are not able to configure them.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I love Duo Security's push notifications. It's simple, fast, and secure. From the user's perspective, the solution is seamless. The security aspect is great."
"By deploying Duo, we have virtually eliminated the risk of direct deposit redirection as a result of credentials that have been compromised via phishing."
"The administrator tool in the dashboard is the most valuable feature. It's really easy to quickly see if users are locked out from their device, firmware code, or just all the little dashboards and reports I can run to give the security for monthly reports. The dashboard's really good."
"Duo offers dual-factor authentication for our logins. I put in my credentials and hit go. Then I get an alert on my Apple watch, and I approve it. That part is just phenomenal."
"Duo Security improved my organization by helping us secure all access points within the company infrastructure."
"We're working remotely. It helps us keep people more safe. Its adoption has been fine. I like the fact that you can bypass it if you need to because there are situations where the internet doesn't work, etc."
"It's pretty easy for users to figure it out."
"The product is reliable and easy to use."
"OneSpan Digipass is very useful, easy to use and work with."

Cons

"It could be a little bit more intuitive when it comes to the sign-up process. I know they send out an email, but sometimes our users get a little confused. It could be an end-user problem, but Cisco could work on that a little."
"Duo Security should better organize its tile feature to organize applications better."
"We use Yubikey for pushing it to the phones. Yubikeys can get expensive because people tend to lose those for some reason. Fifty dollars a device is pretty high."
"We have had instances where Duo Security stops working on a user's device, which we have fixed by uninstalling and then reinstalling it."
"Technical support could be improved. I don't think all support should have to go through an agreement."
"Most of my colleagues from other companies use the Microsoft MFA solution because it's included in Office 365. Few people are considering Cisco Duo. That's the primary problem in our area. It's a solution mostly adopted by Cisco users."
"From an administrative standpoint, I'd love to see it be a little better at remembering a device and location so that I don't have to continually authenticate. That's pretty much it."
"I wouldn't mind seeing some options for remembering a device for a short period of time or a specific login, particularly for administrative engineering staff, as we may be logging in to four or five different services."
"At times, when the user is trying to scan and activate the license, it comes up with an error code."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Duo Security's pricing is good, fair, and very comparable to today's market."
"From a business perspective, it is a little bit costly. The licensing is on a per-user basis."
"Duo Security is free."
"I rate the product pricing a seven out of ten."
"Cisco has the most expensive products because market leaders tend to charge a lot."
"Price-wise, the solution has been very, very reasonable...Licensing is the last thing I think about Duo Security because it's so easy, and I had no problems with it."
"Our licensing fee is currently on an annual basis."
"I haven't seen it in a while, but it's at par with everything else licensing-wise."
