Useful endpoint visibility, high availability, and helpful support
Datto EDR is used for detection and response for endpoints The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints. The solution could improve by having more deployment methods. I have been using Datto Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) for approximately three years. Datto…

Offers advanced filtering features and benefits from improved licensing and performance
There is a licensing issue with Intercept X Endpoint. Their licenses are user-based. Most of our customers use per device licenses, and they need per device licenses because they use one PC for multiple accounts. This creates a problem. There was one customer who complained about the slowness of PCs using Intercept X Endpoint. They use minor performance PCs, which causes their PCs to become slow.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is a perfect product for endpoint security."
"The insight that the solution provides is the most valuable aspect. The security scanning they do is excellent."
"The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints."
"The ease of deployment has been good."
"The base product and the anti-malware feature are most valuable."
"It is stable."
"Everything in Intercept X Endpoints is much centralised which makes it easy for our team to work with. The functions are in a single portal."
"The most effective features of Intercept X Endpoint for threat prevention are ransomware protection, miscellaneous behavior detection, and network threat protection."
"What I have found the most valuable about Sophos Intercept X is the ease of use with management administration and the solution's ability to stop exploits and ransomware."
"I am impressed with the tool's common dashboard feature. The solution is also easy to deploy and manage. Reporting is also easy with the software."
"Offers artificial intelligence, security metrics and a lot of information gathered to make decisions."
"The product efficiently prevents data leakages."

Cons

"The deployment of the solution right now is terrible. We find it to be very bad. It could be improved enormously."
"The solution should allow the automation of playbooks."
"The solution could improve by having more deployment methods."
"The inclusion of web filtering would be good."
"The detection and the AI capabilities should be improved upon."
"Better protection in the endpoint, server, and mobile is needed."
"The majority of our systems are MacBooks and their solution release cycle is slow to endorsing or support the MacBook's latest OS or hardware platform. For example, when Sophos macOS Big Sur version 11 was released, it took them a while to support this version of OS. A similar situation occurred when the MacBook M1 hardware CPU was released. They have not fully supported the native M1 CPU to this day. They need to speed up the solutions release cycle."
"They should keep doing what they're doing. Both of them have entered the EDR/MDR space, and they're keeping up with their competitors. I have a hard time understanding why their capabilities aren't garnering more attention."
"The solution is expensive, and it could be made cheaper."
"The solution can be expensive, although we do see the value in it."
"We had some initial problems with our deployment, and they were more around uninstalling Sophos Basic and installing Sophos Intercept X. We had some challenges with some of the uninstallation scripts. They can improve the deployment of Sophos Intercept X when there is already an existing Sophos version. They can also provide more information in the form of best practices and lessons learned from previous findings. A knowledge base with this type of information would be helpful."
"Features that should be improved in the upgrade involve the excessive consumption of the the solution's processor, RAM and resources."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There is an annual license to use this solution. The price of the solution can be expensive depending on the company."
"Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is not an expensive solution."
"The product is moderately priced."
"There is a yearly payment to be made. For each client, it costs around 15 dollars. There are no additional costs besides the licensing price we pay to use the solution."
"I find the pricing to be a little bit expensive, although it is acceptable, for now."
"The price of the product is okay, in my opinion. The tool's cost per user and per annum basis is around INR 700 to 800."
"We have bought a three-year license."
"When you start going to the EDR technologies and the MTR, it is a little bit expensive. It's a very good technology, and obviously, you're going to pay for it, but the pricing could do a little bit of work."
"The price is pretty good."
"You can pay monthly, but most of our customers choose annual subscriptions because they are less expensive."
