It is recommended that people know what they are starting with. A part of our challenge was we bought and needed to implement it. So by the time we went to implement it, we were running into support issues. Also, make a market comparison to ensure that the product you choose is what you want to end up with. I would give it a six out of ten because restoring from a backup takes longer than usual. It should happen in a matter of hours, not a matter of days. We are yet to have an experience when trying to restore from Acronis that we haven't had to wait at least a couple of days for our server to be available for testing or working.

In our recent experiences, Acronis Cyber Protect proved most valuable during instances of colleagues facing migration challenges due to ransomware impacts. In these situations, where servers and backups were affected, having a backup stored in external drives or other devices within our data centers posed risks. To address this vulnerability, we decided to shift to a cloud backup solution. Acronis CyberProtect has the deduplication feature, reducing server data by approximately sixty percent, which contributes significantly to cost savings. It supports various operating systems such as Linux, Windows 7, Windows 2019, and Windows 2022. It enables backups for file servers, specific applications, and even Gmail accounts, streamlining our backup processes. The tool requires just one or two individuals to manage effectively. Additionally, the day-to-day reporting feature enhances our monitoring capabilities. It sends alerts in case of backup failures, providing timely notifications via email. This eliminates the need to manually check the backup status by logging into the system Its dashboard is easy to navigate for daily operations. The UI simplifies tasks and is accessible on mobile devices. Attaching a machine involves obtaining a code, and entering it during registration. Understanding the functionalities takes about four to five hours. A person with four to five years of IT experience can easily comprehend all the functionalities of the platform within four to five hours, making it a user-friendly platform for administrators.

Acronis Cyber Protect works brilliantly for us with respect to data backup. I'm the primary backup resource. I have one screen specifically for Acronis Cyber Protect that allows me to switch between multiple sites. We do 15 sites at a time. What's nice about the front end is that I could do things and go on and do other similar work and go back to the automated side of it. The system is very smart and intuitive when it comes to that. I can just click and forget that thing. I can go back later, verify, ensure everything is as I expected, and just continue my work. The biggest issue for me is the fact that Acronis Cyber Protect is actually a Windows-based system that's supported by Linux SUSE. Most of the solution's user cases and documentation pertain specifically to Windows. So, I have to take what I can see from the Windows side and apply it to how Windows works versus Linux, and then a lot of my problems are resolved by reading Windows. I also understand that the solution's primary clients are Microsoft-based. It makes sense that most of the solution's documentation will be for Windows because most of its clients run Windows. Finding the right notes for the Linux side has been the only issue. Over the last five years, I've learned what to look for, and then I can take what's written for Windows and work from there. We currently use the solution on a private cloud because it's a closed-network client directive. Within the next 12 to 18 months, we will probably move some of the features directly into the cloud because we are switching many of our hosts to AWS. I would recommend the solution to other clients because it's very easy to install, configure, and maintain. I would recommend any software based on its ease of installation and support. Acronis Cyber Protect is very easy to install and get support. There are several resources, and the engineers are brilliant. If you were to bring in an external resource, the learning curve isn't as intensive as a more problematic or complex system. The front end is very intuitive and easy to learn. I know this because I've trained two different teams to use the solution's front end. The solution is very easy to teach people and to learn. Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.
