A stable product that ensures better team coordination and better project management in an organization
The product's initial setup phase was straightforward. The solution is deployed on the cloud. The solution is always ready to use since it is available in the cloud, but you need a week or two to get the product working correctly. For the deployment, you mostly create your team and invite people, and you complete the templates and dashboard. The longest part of the deployment is related to the dashboard, as you need to customize the dashboard to your needs. At least two people with technical knowledge are required to take care of the deployment and maintenance of the product, but as it is a user-friendly tool, anyone can manage it.

Great work and resource management with helpful kanban boards
We are able to take up the right work and invest in the highest value ideas. The challenge was that we were doing a lot of work without identifying what work has the highest returns. With Planview, we have that visibility across IT, and all the work that gets entered into Planview is surveyed and prioritized to make sure that we start with the highest valued investments. Not only that, we have visibility of all the resources as to where they are spending their time and how they can be utilized to better meet the vision and business strategies of the organization.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Pretty much everything is customizable and easily editable."
"The scalability is unlimited."
"You can create a group of tasks and can write down sub-tasks under each task."
"The initial setup is easy."
"Our team uses the platform for many different functions, and the ability to have multiple Kanban boards that are integrated into various other platforms our team uses has helped us become more efficient in our content creation strategies."
"The solution is more of a streamlined Slack."
"The number one feature is the ability to automate pretty much everything."
"It has kept all our departments accountable and gives a quick birds-eye to see how projects are progressing."
"The sheer amount of information available in one single interface is valuable. Everything is there. It is also a lot of work to maintain all the information, but generally, you can find everything you need within this one tool."
"We're still in an early stage. Things will change as we use it more. I did program reports that are important and that will provide us with value."
"When it comes to managing project plans, Enterprise One is awesome at enabling us to see what stage work is at. I've always thought it was awesome because it's good whether we're doing a traditional WBS or we're linking in epics into projects that are supporting the programs and the strategies, I've always thought it was an excellent tool."
"Our transparency is increasing a lot. It is helping us to get people together. There are no dark rooms anymore. In some areas or concepts, we want to add more light to every single concept. That's the big impact that the tool is having. It allows conversations between people."
"It maps back to our SDLC process pretty well. I'm able to see the stage of where things are at. We also use Azure DevOps for all of our requirements and our coding."
"We use expenditures quite a bit. We put in forecast expenditures and then we actualize them below the line in the little box in the bottom tray. Being able to track the project with relevant milestones is also valuable. Milestones are valuable because it helps us to keep the project on track. The expenditures are valuable because we need to be able to understand expenses that are beyond the regular resources in the projects."
"We can view a project both at the top level and dig into the particularities. It's given us greater visibility into the work itself."
"Our reporting is much better. There is much more visibility on projects, schedules, tasks, and in our milestones. Now, we have a consistent way of reporting out to the committees and getting all of our schedules and milestones."

Cons

"The solution could use a more streamlined Google Calendar integration."
"Maybe they could improve a bit more on how to connect with other apps - especially for CRMs like Hubspot."
"It would be nice to have a general section at the top of each group."
"We'd like to have the ability to start a screen record or screen grab that a user can initiate from Monday.com."
"Adding more features would be ideal since there are limitations as far as scalability."
"I would love to see better integration with Google Suite."
"It would be beneficial to have the ability to toggle between the traditional Monday.com pulse view and a monthly calendar view."
"It does everything we need it to, so no improvements are necessary."
"We've been using it for a while, so it's about maturity. It's about being able to build out things in Agile groups and teams and some of that. Then really trying to drive into the direction of Lean Portfolio Management and more Agile program management, I think is where we're heading."
"I would like a bit more flexibility, as far as the configuration, and have additional capabilities to configure, making it more flexible for our use."
"The administrative tabs are very confusing, especially in terms of configuring screens and users. It's not very intuitive versus many other applications that I have worked in the past. I have to go to separate sections than I think I have to in order to get to the place that I need to adjust something."
"Visualization and reporting areas could use improvements by having canned reports."
"I would like to be able to copy and paste from Excel into work and assignments along with roles and hours, as opposed to having to type it out one by one."
"I would like to see more documentation pieces. Right now, they do have the content repository. I would like to see more out-of-the-box features with document repository capabilities."
"The resource area needs improvement. The improvements that have been made recently in the later versions have been good improvements, but I think there are some more improvements needed there."
"The UI needs improvement. The UI should have more possibilities for users who are not specialized in using Planview. At the moment, it is more of a technical UI. I would like it to be an open user UI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is not expensive."
"The pricing is totally fair. I don't have any issues with it."
"Fees are paid monthly per user."
"We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"It's quite expensive when it goes to the enterprise license. Other tools like Jira cost 5 a month, and then their enterprise license is 38 a month, which is quite expensive for what we can do. It's £500 for a tool on a large enterprise. I'd have hoped that enterprise costs go down, not up. The pro license is £14, and then everything else is much more expensive, which is another barrier for us to adopt because other comparable tools are much more affordable when you have such a high multiplier as well."
"The enterprise plan looks expensive because we don't understand the value as monday.com users. The pro level and other packages seem reasonable."
"I am using the tool's free version."
"We are on the Flex licenses."
"We have several hundred licenses. It costs us several hundred thousand dollars a year."
"I think all in we are at $33,000 a year and that includes Projectplace and Planview. We used to have the integration to JIRA, but we don't pay for that anymore."
"The licensing part is a bit costly in comparison with the other available PPM tools."
"When we went through that process, I believe it is competitive with others on the market. However, there are less expensive options available. It's a more premium offering at a higher price."
"Our licensing fees are approximately $50,000 USD annually."
"The cost of other pieces and integrating them in needs improvement."
"We have portfolio managers, resource managers, project managers, and time reporting licenses. These are the licenses that we have."
