A Stable and Scalable Web Traffic Load Balancer which is Easy- to- Setup and is Secure
We're using it to expose our application but the main purpose is to make use of the web in a location We have increased the security so now our infrastructure is more secure. And  all the inbound traffic is passing through the WAF and not our application because we have some APIs,  based on the…

Provides better protection for our web applications by delaying access to the interface and limiting access to specific web applications
Radware Alteon's integrated application protection is a good choice. It provides better protection for our web applications by delaying access to the interface and limiting access to specific web applications. This centralized and limited access makes it easier to manage our web applications, even if we have multiple users or customers. We have also provided suggestions for a release that includes the customer's recommended modifications and edits. This release is sufficient for cloud-based applications. Radware Alteon's out-of-the-box integration feature is good. The automation script libraries for each orchestrator are of good quality. Our team can apply the updates and configure them. Radware Alteon has improved our organization by providing an interface for connecting 10 Gigabit Ethernet transceivers. This allowed us to increase our network bandwidth and improve the performance of our applications. Radware Alteon Analytics saved us around 15 percent of the time troubleshooting. The dashboard provides a helpful overview of active alerts and warnings, and we can easily investigate and add new ones as needed. This has made it much easier to identify and resolve issues quickly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The simplicity of the solution and its ability to integrate easily with others are its most valuable aspects."
"The production is a valuable feature."
"The solution provides great automation and it is easy to upgrade service."
"I like the tool's stability and performance."
"It has a filter available, although we are not currently using it because it is not part of our requirements. But it is a good option and when it becomes part of our requirements we will definitely use it."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is traffic management."
"Load balancing and web application firewall features are the most valuable."
"The pricing is quite good."
"I found the link load balancer and server load balancer are the most valuable."
"The command line interface is simple and very user-friendly."
"The interface is easy, it's friendly, and has good alerting."
"I like the ADC feature and the global certificate feature."
"The strength of this solution is the application delivery controller."
"The device blocks threats and allows legitimate users to work correctly."
"The integrated application protection provided by Alteon is very good. It really helps to avoid false positives in some cases. It provides important granularity to avoid a situation in which security or cybersecurity scenarios escape us."
"The most valuable feature is the load-balancing reverse proxy."

Cons

"One of the challenges we faced was the solution does not support any other PCP protocols apart from HTTP and HTTPS."
"Implementing and standardizing the solution across the IT landscape in a heterogeneous environment is painful."
"The solution could improve by increasing the performance when doing updates. For example, if I change the certificate it can take 30 minutes. Other vendors do not have this type of problem."
"We have encountered some issues with automatic redirection and cancellation, leading to 502 and 504 gateway errors. So, I experienced some trouble with containers."
"We faced some downtime while validating CNAME."
"The solution is easy to use overall, but the dashboard could be updated with a better layout and graphical design so that we can see the data a bit easier. Microsoft could also add more documentation. The documentation Microsoft provides doesn't tell us about resource requirements. We found that the instances we had weren't sufficient to support the firewall, so we had to increase them."
"It could be more stable, and support could be better. It would also be better if they offered more features. For example, it lacks security features. Before we used another English solution, and we realized that some of the rules were not set up correctly and passed through the Application Gateway's English controllers. But the problem, in this case, is if you send ten rules, for example, six rules hit some issues. IP address blocking could be better. The rules, for example, don't work properly. If you have one issue, one rule or another rule will not work. This sounds like total madness to me."
"Application Gateway’s limitation is that the private and the public endpoint cannot use the same port."
"A feature that I would like to see included in the next version might be a better analysis when working with crypt issues. Right now, it is very manual; you load it into Alteon and it runs. It would be interesting to see a more dynamic process."
"The reverse proxy piece is a little bit complicated. If the reverse proxy were easier to implement, that would help."
"You need to have pretty good internal knowledge of the solution."
"I would like the solution to display and help visualize the reference map more easily. I would also like to better understand where queries come from and know which users are consulting the application, along with which app."
"I would like to see the loading documentation improved."
"We are in the process of updating our version of the solution, so judging what should be improved is difficult. But in some cases, the visualization takes a while, especially for mapping issues."
"The community portal does not have a place to find scripts."
"The service could be improved by better customer support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is an expensive solution. We have an enterprise agreement, it is monthly."
"The tool's pricing model is pay-as-you-go."
"Microsoft Azure Application Gateway is a pretty affordable product. My company needs to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs of the solution. The additional costs apart from the licensing costs of the solution vary."
"The pricing is based on how much you use the solution."
"The solution is cheaper than Imperva. I rate it four to five out of ten."
"The cost is not an issue."
"The solution is reasonably priced compared to other solutions."
"I would rate the pricing a three out of ten, with ten being cheap and one being expensive."
"The pricing seems reasonable to me for what the solution provides. It is within the parameters of this type of solution."
"The cost of Radware Alteon is mid-ranged."
"Alteon's price is excellent compared to other solutions. F5 costs around twice as much. We still have about three years left before this hardware reaches the end of its life. We're migrating to the cloud, and phasing some of this out, but it's nice that they've given us a long window to keep their hardware in place."
"Radware Alteon is less expensive than many of the other competitors."
"It has a good price point and is more reasonable than other comparable products"
"It is the best in the industry. It was better than the competition, and that is what made us go ahead with them."
"We have three-year contract with Radware. It is beneficial to have a longer-term contract because you can obtain more discounts. It seems to be a much cheaper alternative."
"The price conforms to what the tool provides. It is not an inexpensive tool and not all companies can afford an ADC solution such as Alteon. However, it justifies its price with the options it offers."
