The Whiteboard feature enables meetings in which everyone can join to type, draw, and write
Pros and Cons
  • "Whiteboard is a good feature for having a meeting in which everyone can join to type or draw, and write. If we have a brainstorming-type meeting, we can share our own ideas with the whiteboard."
  • "They should improve the sharing file features from accessing the internal network. If we cannnot share our documents through this meeting, our meeting productivity will decrease dramatically. We need these features."

What is our primary use case?

We use Zoom for our internal meetings and meetings with customers. We also use this platform for our training programs. For internal meetings, we use it through our internal network. For the training, we use the public network. Since we have the COVID-19 situation, we cannot have a meeting or training face to face, so we select this platform instead of Skype for Business which lacks features we expected and has a slow network. Mostly, our meeting size might be 3 to 20, and the training might be 10 to more than 100 people.

How has it helped my organization?

Showing our faces helps this COVID-19 circumstance to feel that we are not alone and we can easily access and communicate with each other. We do not have a limitation for our communication. We can communicte with each other anywhere and anythime. However, we have a security issue and cannot use some of the features from our company network. One example is that we cannot share the internal use only files because the file sharing feature through our network cannot use it. That made us choose another platform.

What is most valuable?

Whiteboard is a good feature for having a meeting in which everyone can join to type or draw, and write. If we have a brainstorming-type meeting, we can share our own ideas with the whiteboard.

Breakout room helps us to set the group discussion during the training. Before this platform, we have to design the multi-network to achieve this situation.

Icon status chat helps if the participants have any questions or any comments the facilitator can see through the features. These features are important because the facilitator cannot see their face directly so we cannot see their expression and never know whether they understand what the facilitator says.

What needs improvement?

Security is the biggest concern issue right now, otherwise, we cannot use this platform in our organization. That situation will affect our meeting and training infrastructure. Our use is not only communication but also sharing useful documents and ideas.

They should improve the sharing file features from accessing the internal network. If we cannnot share our documents through this meeting, our meeting productivity will decrease dramatically. We need these features.

We need features like a dashboard type for the whiteboard. After moving to the breakout room, they can write or create some outputs on the whiteboard. However, after moving back to the main room, they cannot share the outputs. If it is a text, we might paste and copy but it is not user-friendly.

Provides recording functionality but needs to improve the overall stability
Pros and Cons
  • "The product's initial setup phase was easy."
  • "The product's stability is an area of concern where improvements are required since sometimes users get dropped off from meetings."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution for our company's meetings and to hold sessions with our vendors.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of the solution is its recording functionality since it helps my company see the operation sessions for the vendors.

What needs improvement?

The product's stability is an area of concern where improvements are required since sometimes users get dropped off from meetings.

I want to improve the tool's presentation part to be more user-friendly so that users can add notes to the presentations presented via the product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for four years. I use the solution's latest version. I am an end user of the product.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a six out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Over 200 people can join in a single meeting via Zoom.

There are over 100 people in my company who use Zoom.

The product is used twice a week in my company. My company does not plan to expand the use of the solution.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with Microsoft Teams. I started to use Zoom in my company to meet the host requirements.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was easy. I rate the product's setup phase an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one means it is a difficult process and ten means it is an easy process.

The solution is deployed on the cloud services managed by Zoom.

Users can join meetings using Zoom's business account in less than ten minutes.

What other advice do I have?

Speaking about Zoom's impact on our company's team collaboration, I would say that my organization has been holding live meetings rather than virtual meetings. The product is helpful for holding huge meetings with people from different locations. The tool offered flexibility with the meetings.

The breakout room feature hasn't had an impact on our company's meeting experience.

My company doesn't have to maintain the product.

My company has not integrated Zoom with other platforms or tools.

I would suggest others consider their organizations network traffic requirements and bandwidth offered before installing Zoom to avoid stability issues.

I recommend the product to others.

I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.

High quality video, simple to use, and quick setup
Pros and Cons
  • "The standout feature of Zoom is its excellent connectivity, offering high-quality audio and video. Additionally, its familiarity stems from being an early adopter in the field of online communication during the onset of epidemics. Previously, I had used a different system for video conferences in another company, which primarily relied on room-based conferences rather than peer-to-peer video conferencing. However, with the need to communicate directly with peers, Zoom emerged as the first and preferred choice for me. Overall, I consider it the top option and the primary tool I use. Additionally, the solution has all the functionality I need."
  • "In addition to Zoom, I frequently utilize Slack, and I particularly appreciate its huddle functionality. What I find appealing about Slack is the ability to simultaneously chat and have video capabilities. It would be beneficial if Zoom offered similar features integrated with some form of channel system, although I acknowledge that I am not involved in the product management aspect. Personally, I believe this integration would make Zoom even more compelling and engaging for users like myself."

Easy to set up, friendly and helpful support, provides functionality for recording meetings
Pros and Cons
  • "Zoom is very easy to set up. You simply download it and use it."
  • "Zoom meetings can only have 1,000 attendees. For more than 1,000, you must buy the Zoom Webinar product."

What is our primary use case?

We use Zoom in my office for virtual meetings.

We use it to attend meetings while at the office, from home, from the car, or from the hotel. It is a good solution for online meetings and in general, virtual communications.

What is most valuable?

It has a feature that allows you to store the recording of a meeting, which is good.

What needs improvement?

Zoom meetings can only have 1,000 attendees. For more than 1,000, you must buy the Zoom Webinar product.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for approximately one year.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is a scalable product, although a Zoom meeting can only have 1,000 attendees. We have approximately 400 people that use it.

We have to evaluate it further before deciding whether we will increase our usage.

How are customer service and support?

I have been in contact with technical support and it is good. They are very friendly.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used another video conferencing solution for approximately two months.

How was the initial setup?

Zoom is very easy to set up. You simply download it and use it.

If you have any confusion, you can get information about setting it up from YouTube or Google. It's very easy.

What about the implementation team?

I deployed it myself. No technical team is needed for deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay a yearly licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, this is a good product and I recommend it.

I would rate this solution a ten out of ten.

Easy to set up, simple to use, and very intuitive
Pros and Cons
  • "The setup is rather simple and straightforward."
  • "It's not really the fault of the product, however, the internet connectivity can sometimes be an issue."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for meeting with clients.

What is most valuable?

Zoom is very familiar. It's intuitive. It has all of the features you would expect from the other popular conferencing options.

It's easy to use.

The setup is rather simple and straightforward.

What needs improvement?

It's not really the fault of the product, however, the internet connectivity can sometimes be an issue.

The splitting of the speaker can be frustrating. When you're talking to folks from the presentation, being able to move them around to different screens would be useful. With Zoom, everyone stays on one screen.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've used the solution for a while.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

While we only have about 20 people that use Zoom, we have clients that have tens of thousands of users on the product.

The solution seems to be scalable. We haven't had any issues with scaling as needed. You can add or remove people easily.

How are customer service and support?

I've never personally used technical support. I cannot say if they are helpful or responsive, having never spoken to them.

How was the initial setup?

There are no issues with the initial setup. It's very easy. I wouldn't describe it as difficult or complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't even know what it costs. Someone takes care of that for us.

What other advice do I have?

We're customers and end-users. We don't have a partnership with Zoom.

We are using the most up-to-date version of the solution.

I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. It works well for us and we never have any issues. There are no complaints.

Easier to use than Microsoft but slows down when too many people log in at once
Pros and Cons
  • "I rate Zoom as a seven out of ten. This is because it is much easier to use than Microsoft Teams."
  • "The video side should be improved, especially if too many people log in at once."

What needs improvement?

The video side should be improved, especially if too many people log in at once. While they say that the solution can support up to 100 connections simultaneously, it slows down once 20 or 25 people join. So too, the quality of the audio decreases and this is in spite of one being in a good internet area with good network speed.

For the moment, Zoom only allows one to schedule, so it would be nice if it offered the option of creating channels, such as Slack does. The latter solution allows everyone to be on the same call with just a click.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for two-and-a-half years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Zoom comprises our main mode of video communication. We have slowly started incorporating Microsoft Teams, since the company, our employees and the back office use this. Consequently, it is sometimes easier for us to simply conduct a quick call.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I rate Zoom as a seven out of ten. This is because it is much easier to use than Microsoft Teams, but both of these solutions face similar issues when too many people log in at the same time. In fact, Zoom rates slightly lower than Microsoft Teams in terms of video and audio quality when too many people, 20 or 25, log in at once.

Zoom only allows for scheduling at the moment, so it would be nice if it offered the option of creating channels, such as with Slack. The latter solution allows everyone to be on the same call with just a click.

What other advice do I have?

I believe we deploy the solution on the cloud.

Half of our organization makes use of Microsoft Teams and the rest use Zoom.

I rate Zoom as a seven out of ten.

Simple to use, and many people can join meetings without degrading performance. I prefer it over Skype for Business.
Pros and Cons
  • "Compared to any other platform, Zoom has been very stable for meetings and conference calls."
  • "I would like to see support for transferring files."

What is our primary use case?

I use Zoom for internal meetings.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is stability. Compared to any other platform, Zoom has been very stable for meetings and conference calls.

Zoom can be used for video calls where you are sharing the screens and giving control to the other participants, which is something that I really like about it.

This tool is not complicated and simple to use.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see support for transferring files. Sometimes we discuss things in a meeting and once the meeting ends, I would like to be able to consult my electronic notes and then send a file later on. This happens when I am not in the office when a meeting takes place and I would like to send a file to one or more of the participants later on in the day.

If the web conference is a training session then it would be helpful if the instructor could send materials to the other participants in the meeting.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Zoom for almost a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is great. As we scale up in terms of meeting size, it keeps its reliability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have not had very large meetings yet, but with respect to scalability, our meetings with between 10 and 20 people have been great. There were no issues and everyone was able to speak.

How are customer service and technical support?

We have not had to contact technical support. Also, I have seen a lot of training links sent out from Zoom to help people learn how to use it. I don't think that there should be many issues on the technical side.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other products but the stability and reliability of Zoom keep it on top of them.

Skype for Business is one solution that I have used, and I would say that Zoom is far superior to it. Specifically, when it comes to reliability, but also ease of use and scalability. I don't know if Skype for Business breaks at a certain point, but the quality of calls is reduced as more participants join the meeting. In fact, from what I can tell, meeting quality is generally lesser in Skype for Business. Screen sharing is also more convenient in Zoom.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

In the basic version, there is a 40-minute time limit on group meetings. This is something that I like and I don't think that it should change.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
