I primarily use Microsoft Teams as a communication tool for online meetings. Over the past year and a half, I’ve started using it more extensively to access other parts of my information system, such as OneDrive and Calendar. I also use it to invite people to meetings and manage various functions from the menu.

Works as a communication tool for online meetings but needs to be more intuitive
Pros and Cons
- "For me, Microsoft Teams' most valuable features are online meetings, calls, and chat. While I also use it to access OneDrive and my calendar, the core functions I rely on are meetings and calls."
- "One challenge I've encountered with the tool is that it's not as intuitive as it could be. For example, when making invitations or initiating calls, it often takes two or three clicks to get started, which feels less efficient compared to other tools like Zoom. The interface seems to have too much functionality packed into one environment."

What needs improvement?
One challenge I've encountered with the tool is that it's not as intuitive as it could be. For example, when making invitations or initiating calls, it often takes two or three clicks to get started, which feels less efficient compared to other tools like Zoom. The interface seems to have too much functionality packed into one environment.
I’d recommend adding shortcuts for frequently used activities to improve it. For example, having quick access to OneDrive or creating fast calls to contacts could save time.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the product for four to five years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the solution's scalability an eight out of ten. It is possible to add different teams.
How are customer service and support?
I contact my internal support and have no experience with the solution's direct support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I’ve used Zoom regularly, primarily for online meetings and direct calls. I find Zoom to be more intuitive and user-friendly than Microsoft Teams.
What other advice do I have?
If you’re considering using Microsoft Teams, my advice would be this: If you only need basic functions for online meetings and nothing more for personal use, I would recommend sticking with Zoom’s free version. However, for corporate use or if you already use Microsoft 365 or other Microsoft tools, Microsoft Teams is a better choice due to its integration with the Microsoft ecosystem. Other options like Google Meet or Zoom might be more suitable for those not connected to Microsoft tools.
I rate the overall solution a seven out of ten.

We encountered occasional outages, which occurred a couple of times last year while using the product. These disruptions, affecting various Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Teams, might have been attributed to server issues on Microsoft's end.
There could be a feature allowing users to respond to specific messages or comments within a group chat. They could support GIFs and emojis similar to the features available in Slack. How was the initial setup?
We have a team of 100 executives for the product’s maintenance.
What other advice do I have?
The "Together Mode" feature in Microsoft Teams has been particularly valuable for our team's productivity and overall collaboration. This feature is especially beneficial during group video calls, as it creates a virtual environment where team members appear together in a shared space. This has proven useful for capturing group photos and fostering a sense of connection, especially in a remote work environment. Additionally, during virtual celebrations and events, the ability to click pictures seamlessly in Teams adds a fun and engaging element, enhancing the overall team experience. The feature for video conferencing capability works efficiently for remote meetings.

Senior Advisor at a recruiting/HR firm with 11-50 employees
Easy-to-use solution for chat and video conferencing, but lacks stability and scalability
Pros and Cons
- "We like it because it makes it easy to communicate, chat, make video calls, and schedule meetings with people."
- "There could be performance spikes and better reliability. We saw a lot of stability issues."
What is our primary use case?
We use it for many things, including chat, video conferencing, meeting rooms, and file storage. We've got lots of apps loaded in it. We're quite heavy users of it.
What is most valuable?
We like it because it makes it easy to communicate, chat, make video calls, and schedule meetings with people. It is a hell of a lot easier than the business used to be.
What needs improvement?
There could be performance spikes and better reliability. We saw a lot of stability issues.
Microsoft Teams rooms and their updates are highly unreliable. They don't release enough notes about it. They're very buggy, which we find highly frustrating.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft Team for a long period.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
There are a lot of bugs. The app they release is often buggy and frequently experiences downtime.
We have many users on Mac, and Teams for Mac App often crashes. There are still some bugs until you raise a ticket, they fix them, and then they release an update, and it will break again. It's not reliable.
I rate the solution’s stability probably six or seven out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
If you want to include other people, it's so complex. Sometimes, if you want to add guests, they appear as external. You can add individuals as external or guests; they are quite different.
Additionally, the licensing process for adding people can be really complicated; it can take hours to show up. Sometimes, we create a user, and it may take 24 hours before they gain access to what they need. So, it's definitely not easy to scale.
I rate the solution’s scalability a six out of ten.
We have at least 300 people, including all of our external or guest, using the solution.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service is terrible. We've joined a group of 17 other companies with a joint ticket raised with Microsoft for issues with logging people out because of some issues. A big accounting firm was also part of the group, and big law firms were with us. Microsoft has done nothing. It's been three months, and they've not done anything.
How was the initial setup?
My initial response would be to describe the setup as highly complex.
I rate the initial setup a five out of ten, it wasn't simple, it wasn't complex. It fell somewhere in the middle, especially when compared to Zoom. We have extensively used Zoom before, and Zoom is genuinely easy to use, while Microsoft Teams is comparatively more challenging.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Microsoft Teams’s pricing is low.
I rate the pricing four out of ten, where one is low and ten is high.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I’ve used Zoom before.
What other advice do I have?
I better recommend Zoom to other users.
Overall, I rate the solution a six out of ten.
