UiPath helps us significantly reduce our on-premises footprint. It provides an automated touchless environment that we use in the administration and finance departments to automate a portion of our business processes.

UiPath's ability to minimize on-premises infrastructure aligns perfectly with the current trend of companies prioritizing digitization to reduce their physical footprint. In other words, UiPath is a key tool for achieving this modern business goal.

UiPath reduces our physical infrastructure needs by eliminating server management, maintenance, and database backups that are handled by the cloud provider. On-premises deployments require a disaster recovery plan for database backups and regular data maintenance to prevent performance issues, which are burdens eliminated by cloud-based UiPath.

Minimizing my on-premises footprint is about migration to the cloud, and we are currently not using the on-premise version of UiPath. We have migrated to the cloud, and the migration process itself was very easy because they have a tool called the Cloud Migration Tool.

We maintain the UiPath Platform in the cloud. We are a cloud-based company. We prefer doing everything cloud instead of on-premises. We have Microsoft Azure as our cloud provider for the UiPath Platform. It is private when it comes to the type of cloud for the UiPath Platform.

With cloud infrastructure, they manage the entire application environment themselves. In contrast, on-premises setups are more complex, as we need to deploy multiple applications that require integration. This approach also comes with certain limitations, particularly regarding the use of large language models (LLMs) and AI technologies. Therefore, deploying solutions on the cloud is generally easier compared to managing them on-premises, which can be a bit more challenging.

The biggest challenge for our company, which is a law firm, is that the data is very sensitive, and we do not want to expose our data on the cloud. Therefore, we have our system set up in an on-prem environment, and while we try to utilize new features, with on-prem, we cannot utilize all the new features such as AI Agent or many functions on the cloud.

The deployment model for UiPath Platform is cloud-based. For Automation Cloud, we use UiPath cloud. Our robots, which are part of the solution that runs on-premises, operate on on-prem servers and are not in the cloud at all.

Initially, we started off with on-prem, and we moved to the cloud after I joined. It was a little challenging. One of the big challenges that I see in migration or deployment is when there are upgrades.

I've been working with UiPath for seven years. I'm currently using all of UiPath Platform Agentic Automation capabilities, including the Agent Builder, Testing, and Autopilot. The only real use case we have implemented with UiPath Platform Agentic Automation is creating synthetic test data; the others are tests in our lab where we are trying out different solutions.

My main use cases for UiPath Platform are traditional RPA and Document Understanding, primarily focused on invoice processing and similar tasks. We've delved into GenAI since last year. I am from the Automation COE team at OMERS, and we are not restricted to just UiPath Platform; we engage in various automation initiatives. Currently, we work with PowerApps, Power Platform, UiPath Platform, and Alteryx, but we appreciate the ecosystem that UiPath Platform has provided us. The capabilities offered by UiPath Platform feel a one-stop shop for automation solutions, especially after migrating from on-prem to cloud, which grants us access to all the latest offerings.

The deployment and maintenance are handled by UiPath Platform. Currently, our Orchestrator and everything is handled by UiPath Platform. We are in the cloud right now using UiPath cloud. They are taking care of it. Previously we used to have this on our own company's servers, so we just had to make sure it runs twenty-four seven.
