Stable and reliable with the potential to scale
Pros and Cons
  • "The stability and reliability are great."
  • "There are sometimes problems with incompatibility issues with other types of software."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is primarily used for a variety of tasks, from meetings and documents to file sharing.

What is most valuable?

The solution is very scalable.

The stability and reliability are great.

What needs improvement?

Sometimes, the solution can be more scalable. Sometimes the app crashes in between calls and sometimes it hangs.

There are other kinds of problems with incompatibility issues with other types of software.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for five years. It's been a while.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. However, we have had issues with it crashing and hanging in some cases, however, that might have to do with its general scalability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is typically very scalable. It's a cloud-based solution. Therefore, it can be scaled to any number of employees. However, we have had issues with it hanging or crashing, and we're not sure if this is based on the scaling or not.

We have hundreds of thousands of people in our organization. Pretty much everyone uses it.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have never asked for any tech support, as we have our internal support team for Office 365, then most of the time, they are able to resolve anything. If they are not able to resolve it, we are not aware of that.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have used some Google applications and other conferencing platforms, such as Skype.

How was the initial setup?

I'm not really aware of the installation process, as we are at the end-user side, however, the services of the cloud are separate in the way that it is installed. We get our client software installed in our office machine, and therefore, we are not aware of the installation part as well. It's just on the machines and ready to go for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The company purchases bulk licenses. However, I'm not sure how much they are. I don't deal with buying or negotiating the pricing.

What other advice do I have?

I'm a customer and I use it for business purposes.

We are always on the latest version of the solution, as we are on the cloud, which is continuously and automatically updated.

I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

I'd recommend the solution to other companies, and most organizations are already using it. However, it depends upon the company, and how the security policy is, and whether they want to use a public cloud-based solution or not.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

A stable, scalable and easily installable solution with good technical support
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is scalable."
  • "My main pain point concerns the licensing price, which could be lower."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for emails, OneDrive, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.

What needs improvement?

When it comes to security features, the package is important. The high 11 packages offer security.

While I don't consider this to be an issue, I believe Microsoft 365 Business to have better internal integration then it does with outside solutions.

My main pain point concerns the licensing price, which could be lower.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft 365 Business for two or three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

I feel that technical support is pretty good, although we have not had much occasion to make use of it.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to using the solution, we made use of Microsoft Exchange's on-premises version. We use Office 365, which is basically the cloud-based version of Microsoft Exchange.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is simple, although I do not know how long it took, as I was not responsible for this.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay a monthly subscription fee for the license. It could be lower.

What other advice do I have?

The solution is cloud-based.

Microsoft dominates the market. Though there are other solutions available, almost everyone is using it, as it offers ease-of-use.

Our organization has 300 users who are utilizing the solution.

While I would recommend the solution to others who are contemplating its implementation, I believe that doing so would be superfluous, as it already dominates the market.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business as a nine out of ten.

Comprehensive package, easy collaboration, and highly stable
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution allows for easy collaboration. You are able to use, for example, Excel and go online to the cloud and save your documents offline rather than on a personal hard drive. In my organization, we promote collaboration when possible and this solution does a good job at providing this functionality. The solution is always updated and we receive the latest features. Additionally, they offer many other services we do not use very much but are available, such as Power BI."

What is our primary use case?

We use Microsoft 365 Business for email, SharePoint, and OneDrive. In the Office suite, we use many of the old applications, such as Excel. We use extensively SharePoint to share files, OneDrive to take backups on regular basis, and email.

    What is most valuable?

The solution allows for easy collaboration. You are able to use, for example, Excel and go online to the cloud and save your documents offline rather than on a personal hard drive. In my organization, we promote collaboration when possible and this solution does a good job at providing this functionality. The solution is always updated and we receive the latest features. Additionally, they offer many other services we do not use very much but are available, such as Power BI.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for approximately three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have found the solution very stable. We have not had any issues in the three years operating any of the products.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. We are using Office 365 Business in all three operations we are currently involved with.

How are customer service and technical support?

We use the technical support from Microsoft but it was mostly related to the OneDrive. We had a couple of extensions not supported by OneDrive in the beginning, we reached out to the support and they were very quick to respond and resolve the issues. They have an account manager in the Middle East which provides us with an easy way to receive support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We have previously used a cloud storage solution called Egnyte.

    How was the initial setup?

The full implementation took approximately one day and the length of time it took was due to the need for us to migrate from our on-premise Exchange server to Office 365 Business.

    What about the implementation team?

We used consultants for the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is expensive and the price could be lowered. For example, if I want to purchase a personal Office 365 subscription, they have pricing that does not have the flexibility to choose a wide range of storage sizes, you are limited to a lower amount. If you then switch to the Business version to receive the larger storage offering it is too large and expensive. If they would allow customers to choose the storage size on-demand it would be beneficial and a big improvement.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options because we have an Exchange server and thought it would be best to use a Microsoft platform.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others. I do not see any other comparable alternative solution as comprehensive as this one.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to use, highly scalable, and straightforward installation
    Pros and Cons
    • "I would like to use different tools than Microsoft 365 Business but I am working in the IT industry and it is quite easy to use some of the editors. For my wife and sons, it is more comfortable and easier to use Office 365. I encourage them to use some kind of editor directory in the browser."

What is our primary use case?

My son uses Microsoft 365 Business in his school where they do not use books, they work fully online. They are using their laptop on a daily basis where they use applications, such as Word in order to edit, submit, and share documents with the other pupils or teachers.

      What is most valuable?

Office 365 is comfortable and easy to use and sometimes important to share doments with others, it is practically an standard de facto and it is a way to be sure your documents are going to be properly read.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for approximately one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      The stability is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have found scalability good in this solution.

My company is quite Microsoft oriented for our laptops and commodity software. We have over 100,000 employees and many of them are using this solution but I am not sure the exact number.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have needed to use the support for this solution.

      How was the initial setup?

We have a familiar subscription and you only need to share a link with the operating system you want to install it on. Anyone can download and install Microsoft 365 Business with a couple of clicks and it will be ready to use in a short period of time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of the subscription for the solution could be less expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business a nine out of ten.

Excellent for collaborative and team work; document sharing is a valuable feature
      Pros and Cons
      • "Ease of collaboration and sharing documents."
      • "It requires logging out and in again when working for different companies."

What is our primary use case?

Our main use of 365 is for collaboration between teams that are not working from the same space and might be spread all over the world. I'm a business owner and customer of Microsoft.

      What is most valuable?

I like the ease of collaboration and the ability to share documents. These days it's essential that people have the tools to really sync up and work together. It's a perfect fit.

      What needs improvement?

One thing that could be improved is the need to log out and log in again if you need to enter a different work space. It's quite inconvenient and seems to be a problem from the access directory because the different roles can't be separated. I work as a user community liaison and receive many invitations from different workspaces. It's quite frustrating and definitely something that could be improved.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      The solution is stable.

      How was the initial setup?

It doesn't really require installation because it's on the cloud. We have around 40,000 people in our user group and they all use it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is an annual license fee. It could be cheaper but it's a fair price.

What other advice do I have?

I rate this solution an eight out of 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to use and scalable, with lots of new features added regularly
      Pros and Cons
      • "It is easy to use."
      • "If Microsoft could do something about data loss prevention, that would be ideal."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is used heavily at our customer's end. Our businesses involve consulting in a lot of stuff related to accounting and other various business aspects. They are heavy users of Office 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and, of course, Outlook. Outlook is the lifeline of this business. All business communication happens through it.

      What is most valuable?

      It is easy to use.

It's mostly stable. There are no issues.

      Support can be reached easily.

They are constantly adding new features every week or every month or so. They really think about what the customers need and they work to build that into the product.

      The scalability has been good.

      What needs improvement?

We had some hiccups where people would inadvertently send things out to external parties. When they realized, they just blame Outlook for being at fault, however, they do not think of themselves as a problem. They do not try to make changes to the behavior that they follow. That's why we are trying to figure out what other solutions are out there - to see which could probably aid end users. We need something to stop them before they send out an email to an external party. If they're prompted to check before sending, we can prevent data from getting leaked out to external parties. I'm not sure if that's a feature that could possibly be added to Outlook.

If Microsoft could do something about data loss prevention, that would be ideal. There needs to be more than just the capability of flagging an end-user.

Of late, the support has been very patchy at Microsoft's end. It's been like this for about one to two years now. From a support perspective, if you want to rank how good the support is, it's probably around seven at this point in time.

There used to be a lot of articles, however, they've dropped off or have gotten removed and therefore there's less available knowledge online. They need to work on building up their documentation again.

The solution could always be a bit more secure.

If there was a way to make the product more intuitive, that would be helpful for the end-users.

For how long have I used the solution?

We've been using the solution from the start - when Microsoft started with 365. At that time, it was Office 365. Prior to that, it was called Exchange Online. I've been there from the start. It would probably be six to seven years plus of experience that I have with 365.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable platform. If any issues come up, Microsoft is able to fix them quite easily. Some issues take time. That depends on the complexity of the product. However, overall, from an enterprise standpoint, we are pretty satisfied with Microsoft.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable. Microsoft is based on a cloud platform. Therefore, anytime we have new users or a new company that is onboarded into our organization, we are able to do it pretty easily. It doesn't take a lot of effort and Microsoft is there to help us out if there are deployment issues.

We have hundreds of thousands of users on the solution.

There are hundreds of people who are in our engineering department and some of them are outsourced. There are more than, I would say, 500 people who are involved in M365. The exact numbers I don't have.

How are customer service and technical support?

Support is okay, however, it could be better. Over the last few years, I have noticed it is not as consistent as it once was. That's an aspect they could improve.

      How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is something I do not deal with. That said, it's a straightforward install for end-users and we have SCCM and Intune that helps in the installation process. Intune is not being used. It's mostly SCCM that is used to deploy applications. Implementation is something that a different group does. I cannot say how good or how bad the experience is. It's my understanding that it just depends.

A couple of years back, before I joined the company as a contractor, they made the switch to Exchange Online. They had a dedicated subscription. There's a public cloud and a private cloud. They have some sort of a private cloud where they have specific servers allocated to this firm. A couple of years back, around three or four years back, the company decided to move out from that into a completely public cloud. Now, the firm is on an entirely public cloud.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product's cost is based on a monthly license per user. We pay a certain amount per month, per year and that's about it. That's all I know from licensing perspective. It is monthly that it is billed.

What other advice do I have?

      I'm a consultant.

Basically, you sign up for the service, you get your email account, and then you get access to something like SharePoint, Teams, and other Microsoft services. It's a complete solution within the cloud.

The product is pretty perfect. I'd rate it at a ten out of ten.

I would say other enterprises should use the solution. A lot of enterprises are using Microsoft 365 because of its strengths and the way new features are released. A lot of customers like us are interested in trying out new products and new features as they come.

Simple to use, makes tasks easier, and scalable
      Pros and Cons
      • "One of the most valuable features is this solution makes a lot of tasks easier, such as storing files and the maintenance of your infrastructure. additionally, the solution is easy to use."
      • "One of the only aspects that I do not like about Microsoft is that they release solutions into the market without testing them and rely on users to test them."

What is our primary use case?

We are moving most of our applications to the cloud with Microsoft 365 Business. We use many of the applications, such as OneDrive, Teams, and add-ons.

      What is most valuable?

One of the most valuable features is this solution makes a lot of tasks easier, such as storing files and the maintenance of your infrastructure. additionally, the solution is easy to use.

      What needs improvement?

One of the only aspects that I do not like about Microsoft is that they release solutions into the market without testing them and rely on users to test them.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for more than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have had no problems with the stability of Microsoft 365 Business.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution in my experience is scalable.

We have approximately 3,500 Active Directory users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft solutions.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

When I started out at the company I work for we were previously using an email solution called Lotus Notes.

      How was the initial setup?

The installation is not my department. However, from what I have heard it seems some of it is easy, while others parts are more difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of this solution is expensive and the price could be reduced. The licensing cost is very high because we are using an E5 license for Microsoft.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend this solution to others.

I rate Microsoft 365 Business an eight out of ten.
