Microsoft Teams Valuable Features

Project Manager at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees

Project teams may notice last-minute information updates and keep track of actions using the same project document and its revisions. In the field of technology, several progress updates may be necessary to achieve a status report.

Microsoft Teams can facilitate the broadcast of information and distribution of tasks through a single platform. The integration for team collaboration can expedite decision-making and enhance alignment towards the same project goal among the right people, at the right place, and at the right time.

Microsoft Teams can help overcome potential barriers and delays in achieving project objectives, marking the era of instant messaging demands.

The solution's most valuable features are robust security and communication within teams or channels. One of the other key features is its ability to allow a seamless transition from chat to a video call. Additionally, we can record the conversation and obtain a transcript as well.

Its sharing screens and collaborative note-taking during meetings feature works best. It proved valuable for a hybrid work environment, where individuals had to work from different locations due to factors like COVID-19. It helped bring people together, ensuring productivity and engagement.

I put the live captions up when I am on a call and want to mute it. I like that feature. The recording of scripts and the playback of videos are good features. If I have to write the minutes for a call, I'll just take the script output and copy and paste it.

The recording function, the transcript function, the chat function, the live caption function, and the setting up of groups to share documents are useful features of Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams' features that I find most valuable include the presentation feature, project planning tools, and the integration of OneNote. All the data we discuss during our meetings is loaded into the whiteboards and collectively stored in the same Microsoft Teams channel. This includes recordings and other relevant information. This is particularly helpful for those who may have missed a Teams meeting; they can easily catch up by accessing the channel and listening to the recording. It allows them to navigate through all the details and review stored notes.

The tool's integration with OneNote and Power BI is good. The current version of Microsoft Teams is significantly more user-friendly compared to previous versions. I find it easy to handle any user needs and provide assistance. The device installation process is straightforward, and configuring it for users is not complicated. This seamless and user-friendly experience makes it easy to connect with everyone.

It offers seamless Microsoft 365 integration. With Teams integration, you can quickly create teams within a group, bring deleted groups back, edit the group email alias, and use sensitivity labels.

Chat is one of the key features of Microsoft Teams. Whether it’s just with one person or with a group chat allows you to instantly message team members for quick discussions and feedback.

You’ll have less clutter in your inbox as prompt, quick questions get resolved over Teams chat rather than a potentially long wait for an email reply.

The data IP identification for each message and the ability to organize discussions in separate channels within a team.

Microsoft Teams' video conferencing capabilities are good. The direction is very good, especially since we started using that feature early on.

The experience has gotten a lot better. In the beginning, it was difficult for a lot of people in a video conference. We couldn't see all the participants or it was difficult to move the screens around. But now, it's much more convenient to use.

It's great for meetings and even hybrid classes, for example, where the teacher has students attending in person and online at the same time. It's really convenient for that too, and I like that you can easily share presentations.

Sharing presentations is easy, which is particularly convenient for hybrid classes where the teacher has students both on-site and online.

The most valuable feature of Microsoft Teams is the ability to create Google calendar invites. When I click on that option to create an invite, it will go straight to Google in my web browser, and will creates the meeting placeholder. I believe the chat messaging is a very valuable feature. It's not like Skype or Google Hangouts where you chat and once you're done you'll never find it again. This solution sticks with the chat until it's deleted and it also enables the application of backend retention policies so it can be saved longer. If you need to adhere to any regulation or compliancy regarding data retention you can set policies for that. Within a Teams meeting, you can put in all your meeting notes, whiteboards, all sorts of communication tools that you use. It's a very simple, intuitive platform. The learning curve for clients is minimal.

Microsoft has delivered integrated tools and collaborative capabilities that continue to strengthen and bring great value to Teams.  This positions Teams as the collaborative tool that will soon become the standard in the market for capabilities.  The document and plans/assignment improvements are game changes from a simplicity and functionality perspective.

I really like the video conferencing, and the reason is because of the simplicity of scheduling and using the software. Since I'm using Outlook for my email and calendar management, and it's connected with everything. It's just a click of a button to schedule a meeting, and then, to activate or to start the meeting, it's just another click of a button. Everything is streamlined and simple.

The seamless integration and easy coordination with mobile devices is a wonderful aspect of the solution. It's great that, even if I'm not at my desk, I can still attend the Teams video conference and interact in the same way that I would if I were at my desktop.

There's an option to blur the background or to completely change your background. That's very helpful as we now use the solution to replace stand-up meetings. It removes background distractions for other users and allows participants to have a bit of privacy.

I have a regular meeting with a couple of people on my team, and normally, we would meet at somebody's desk or in an office or in the conference room. With Teams, we can all attend, and all see each other and we can have the same outcome as we would if we were all in the same room. While digital meetings as opposed to in-person meetings takes a bit of time to get used to, the learning curve is short because of the seamless integration.

Business Analyst at a financial services firm with 1-10 employees

The most valuable feature for us was instant messaging. I did like the fact that you could start various teams so that if you wanted to instant message certain individuals, you could have the group chats going on in the background. But again, we were such a small company, we didn't actually use it. I think if it was a large company, fantastic because you've got large multiple groups feeding in. For a small company, no.

I liked the idea of being able to share, but we used Dropbox, so we found that we didn't need to share documents. It would have provided another layer, but our team is not large enough to warrant a group of individuals, multiple locations, all feeding into one document at different times. We didn't actually have a need for that.

In terms of administrating through Office 365, I like the administration panel. The configuration is easy and powerful. Its integration within Microsoft is very good.

There is a new Skype feature in Teams that is excellent.

There are a lot of applications being developed on Microsoft for Teams. They are building out a lot of Office 365 apps and the integration with everything is great.

The call quality has been very good, especially compared to Skype.

We like that you can get a lot of users on one call without the call actually failing or losing quality. Hosts can connect, if I recall correctly, up to 90,000 people. If you need a massive company-wide meeting, you can do it.

The Audio Call feature is its most valuable feature. Through this feature, seamless discussions can take place, files can be shared through one single application and the voice quality is also good. Organizations can also build their org chart and share information through emails and phone calls.

I think what the team likes most is the improvements when it comes to communication. We've been using Skype for business in the past but the audio and visual communication is really good with Microsoft Teams. I also really like the speed of the product and the way that the channels can be leveraged.

The solution is perfect for meeting purposes, which is how we mainly use it.

The product has the capability to allow me to do recordings of any session which is very helpful. When the meetings are happening, I'm also able to text with people as a secondary form of communication.

I can use the calendar aspect with it to track my day and to know what I'm going to do.

For collaboration purposes, it's been very, very handy to use, and it's great for chat purposes. It's nice to not always have to pick up the phone when you can just chat via teams instead.

You can easily integrate with other applications quite easily.

The video calling is as interesting as Skype, but with a lot more functions with better and easier communication.

It is very quick.

It's a complete solution with video calls, calendars, messaging, downloads, and you can publish things. It's connected and is compatible with other Microsoft products. We don't have a lot of conflicts.
