Comprehensive solution but too complicated, especially for ordinary users
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is how much you can do with this solution."
  • "The most valuable feature is how much you can do with this solution."
  • "Power Automate is too complicated - it forces you to go through extra tasks instead of streamlining your workflow."
  • "Power Automate is too complicated - it forces you to go through extra tasks instead of streamlining your workflow."

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is how much you can do with this solution.

What needs improvement?

Power Automate is too complicated - it forces you to go through extra tasks instead of streamlining your workflow. In the next release, I would like InfoPath to be re-included.

How are customer service and support?

Tech support is hit and miss.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is complex - it's confusing for IT workers, let alone ordinary users.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Power Automate is a separate license, so make sure that if you implement it, you have the appropriate license for all the users who will use it.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution as seven out of ten.

An intuitive and easy-to-use solution
Pros and Cons
  • "Microsoft Power Automate is very easy to use."
  • "Microsoft Power Automate is very easy to use, very complete with a lot of activities available, intuitive, and it seems very stable."

What is our primary use case?

I'm using it for internal purposes at the moment. We are a consulting company and we are exploring goals with the option of implementing automation for our clients.

Currently, I am assessing Microsoft Power Automate, comparing it with UiPath to see if it's good enough for our clients and for our purpose.

We plan to use this solution for getting information from one application to another, for producing sheets and text files for Power BI, and also for integration and displaying dashboards and business intelligence for the business. It will also be used for invoicing and notifications — mainly business processes in general.

    What is most valuable?

Microsoft Power Automate is very easy to use. It's very complete with a lot of activities available. It's intuitive and it seems very stable.

For how long have I used the solution?

I was using this solution when it was called Microsoft Flow. Currently, I've been evaluating it for the last two weeks.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    This solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I can't comment on the scalability yet as I haven't tried to scale it yet. Still, I know it will be scalable because it's in the DNA of the project.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't had to contact technical support as of yet.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very straightforward. It only took five to ten minutes to get it up and running.

    What about the implementation team?

I installed this solution by myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Microsoft Power Automate is expensive. The full license is quite expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I would absolutely recommend this solution to others. At this point in time, I would give it a rating of eight out of ten.

Scalable and useful for triggering custom web services and routines, but the infrastructure part must be open for customers
    Pros and Cons
    • "It is a very useful solution. You don't need to create an infrastructure in your environment just for triggers or executions. You don't need to invest in the infrastructure. With Power Automate, we can call or trigger custom web services and routines. We are also using the flow for gathering data from Microsoft Dynamics."

    • "Sometimes, Microsoft changes the game rules, and the free tools are no longer free, which makes it too hard to explain to customers. It is a SaaS service, so the cost is calculated based on the execution hours. However, we don't know the background of this cost because we cannot touch the infrastructure. They can be more open to developers or customers about this. The infrastructure part must be open for the customers."
    • "Sometimes, Microsoft changes the game rules, and the free tools are no longer free, which makes it too hard to explain to customers."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it to trigger web service calls and gather data. There are some companies in Turkey and Sweden that are using Power Automate.

    What is most valuable?

It is a very useful solution. You don't need to create an infrastructure in your environment just for triggers or executions. You don't need to invest in the infrastructure.

With Power Automate, we can call or trigger custom web services and routines. We are also using the flow for gathering data from Microsoft Dynamics.

    What needs improvement?

Sometimes, Microsoft changes the game rules, and the free tools are no longer free, which makes it too hard to explain to customers. It is a SaaS service, so the cost is calculated based on the execution hours. However, we don't know the background of this cost because we cannot touch the infrastructure. They can be more open to developers or customers about this. The infrastructure part must be open for the customers.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using this solution for two years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    It is scalable.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support depends on the type of partner agreement. We have a premium agreement with Microsoft, so there is no problem with support operations. For support for any Microsoft product, such as Dynamics, Azure, or Power Automate, we can easily talk to their support.

    How was the initial setup?

It is very easy to install. It took just one day.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Microsoft Power Automate a seven out of ten.

Good templates with zero implementation required but there are stability issues
    Pros and Cons
    • "The templates on offer are very good."
    • "Although the solution is still new to me, from what I have experienced, I would recommend the solution to other organizations."
    • "I've had some issues with the stability."
    • "The stability is not very reliable."

What is our primary use case?

The primary use of the product is for automating business processes.

    What is most valuable?

The templates on offer are very good. It's quite helpful to have them.

The initial setup is fast as there really isn't anything to implement if you use the cloud.

Overall, it's been a positive user experience.

    What needs improvement?

I've had some issues with the stability.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've only been using the solution for a few weeks. I don't have a lot of experience with the solution just yet. It's still quite new to me.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is not very reliable. I've had some issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I can't speak to the scalability of the product. I haven't used it for that long just yet and have not attempted to scale it. Therefore I can't really speak very well to its potential capabilities.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never been in touch with technical support. I cannot speak to how responsive or knowledgeable they are as I have not had an opportunity to communicate directly with them just yet.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did previously use another solution. I've used UiPath in the past.

    How was the initial setup?

Only the desktop version has an installation process. You do not need to install anything if you use the cloud version. It's quite straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

    I'm a student and an end-user. I don't have a business relationship with Microsoft.

I'm writing my thesis about RPA, but I don't have much developing experience.

I'm using the latest version of the solution. I am unsure of the exact version number.

I'm using the trial version of the product.

I have not decided if I will keep using the solution going forward.

Although the solution is still new to me, from what I have experienced, I would recommend the solution to other organizations.

I would rate it at a seven on a scale from one to ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable, Scalable, easy to install and deploy, and good support
    Pros and Cons
    • "The most valuable features of this solution are the automation interface and the RPA automation."
    • "During the last year, there have been many improvements from Microsoft that have taken it to the next level and can compete with UiPath and Automation Anywhere."
    • "The BPM component needs improvement."
    • "The BPM component needs improvement."

What is our primary use case?

We are resellers and sometimes we implement solutions.

    It's a component of Microsoft 365.

We use this solution to match some documents or spreadsheets, to match data from one spreadsheet with another, and to download and load invoices.

We also use it for an approval flow.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of this solution are the automation interface and the RPA automation.

    What needs improvement?

    The BPM component needs improvement.

Microsoft doesn't have certification training for Microsoft Power Automate, like other solutions such as UiPath, Kofax, and Automation Anywhere. All of these products have certification training available.

Power Automate is part of a suite called Power Platform.

Power Automate can integrate into a business intelligence component like Power BI, a flow component like Flow, and a bot component like Virtual Agents.

Power Automate can make that cross to these components for better results of all the data that the client wants to see, and wants to automate.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with this solution for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's very stable, it doesn't have any crashes.

The only issue is when we don't have an internet connection, it crashed because it's a cloud solution and not on-premises.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It has many connectors to other vendors or other components or other programs that make the solution scalable.

It is very easy to deploy with other vendors like Power Automate versus SAP. You can connect SAP with Power Automate very easily and extract information from the SAP environment.

    It's a scalable solution.

Our clients are medium-sized companies. We have anywhere from 16 to 100 users.

How are customer service and technical support?

Microsoft has the team to analyze every incident. In my experience, they have teams that can process incidents for my clients.

I am satisfied with technical support.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was easy and it took a week or two weeks to deploy.

We have a team of two or three people to deploy and maintain this solution.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Our clients also evaluated UiPath and Automation Anywhere.

UiPath and Automation Anywhere are leaders in Gartner Magic Quadrant. Microsoft is the challenger.

Our clients are aware of these evaluations.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others, but first, they should evaluate it. Do a PoC of the tool and evaluate the business purpose. Review the results before making the purchase.

In the beginning, Power Automate was called Flow, and it was very basic to easy to manage. During the last year, there have been many improvements from Microsoft that have taken it to the next level and can compete with UiPath and Automation Anywhere.

I would rate Microsoft Power Automate an eight out of ten.

Stable, easy to use and deploy, but needs a desktop version and better error descriptions and scalability
    Pros and Cons
    • "I like Power Automate because it is very easy to use for users who don't have IT knowledge."
    • "I like Power Automate because it is very easy to use for users who don't have IT knowledge."
    • "They can improve the description of errors and provide more details. Sometimes, when I receive an error, I can't understand what is wrong. It would be useful to have a desktop version to modify or edit workflows. Its scalability can also be better."
    • "They can improve the description of errors and provide more details. Sometimes, when I receive an error, I can't understand what is wrong."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Power Automate to send notifications when working with items in SharePoint. It is used to send notifications when a document is moved or needs to be approved. When a document needs to be approved in SharePoint, we send a notification to the user who needs to approve that document. I also use Power Automate to create a work item in another system, such as Azure DevOps.

    What is most valuable?

I like Power Automate because it is very easy to use for users who don't have IT knowledge.

    What needs improvement?

They can improve the description of errors and provide more details. Sometimes, when I receive an error, I can't understand what is wrong.

It would be useful to have a desktop version to modify or edit workflows. Its scalability can also be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for five months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is scalable, but its scalability can be better. We have 10 to 20 users of this solution.

How are customer service and technical support?

We have a contract with Microsoft for premium support. We have support all the time, and they are good.

    How was the initial setup?

Its initial setup is easy. The deployment duration depends on the complexity of the deployment. It can take a week or a month.

What other advice do I have?

To know about the best practices for this solution and how to make it more secure, I would advise others to read the information on the web.

I would rate Microsoft Power Automate a seven out of ten.

Straightforward setup, good integration, and fine technical support
    Pros and Cons
    • "It is Microsoft. So, you get the integration capability."
    • "We are just at the start of our journey, and we are trying to understand its true capabilities."
    • "The connectors and the integration capability can be improved. Microsoft RPA is a growing platform, and it is not yet particularly mature."
    • "The connectors and the integration capability can be improved. Microsoft RPA is a growing platform, and it is not yet particularly mature."

What is our primary use case?

We are using it for simple invoice management processing. We are using it for just storing documents with some workflows attached.

    What is most valuable?

It is Microsoft. So, you get the integration capability.

    What needs improvement?

The connectors and the integration capability can be improved. Microsoft RPA is a growing platform, and it is not yet particularly mature.

For how long have I used the solution?

We just started to use Microsoft Power Automate. It has been a couple of weeks.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't used it on a major scale at this stage. We're at the start of the journey. We have around 100 users.

How are customer service and technical support?

    Their technical support is okay.

    How was the initial setup?

Its initial setup was straightforward. It is a Microsoft product, so it is as simple as it can get as long as you've got the right licenses and permissions.

    What about the implementation team?

We use a third-party Microsoft partner. We have two developers for its deployment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We are just using the free products at the moment. We are using the ones that come with the license that we have got.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Automation Anywhere as RPA. We chose Microsoft Power Automate because Microsoft is part of our strategic solution. We've just implemented Dynamics, and that's why we started to investigate this solution.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution. We are just at the start of our journey, and we are trying to understand its true capabilities. We plan to keep using this solution. We'll look for use cases.

I would rate Microsoft Power Automate an eight out of ten.

Good learning and simple automation; OCR integrator should be improved
    Pros and Cons
    • "I find WinAutomation's linear approach to the code and function calling valuable."
    • "I find WinAutomation's linear approach to the code and function calling valuable, and I also appreciate the effort they put toward the experience for the user, as learning is good and automation is very simple."
    • "WinAutomation is scalable to a certain extent. I would rate it seven for the scalability, which could be better. Softomotive is better scalable than WinAutomation in this regard."
    • "WinAutomation is scalable to a certain extent. I would rate it seven for the scalability, which could be better."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for WinAutomation is financial. This solution can be used for desktop or front office automation; even the back office operations automations this solution can provide are good.

    What is most valuable?

I find WinAutomation's linear approach to the code and function calling valuable. I also appreciate the effort they put toward the experience for the user; learning is good and automation is very simple.

    What needs improvement?

WinAutomation's OCR integrator should be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We haven't had are issues with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

WinAutomation is scalable to a certain extent. I would rate it seven for the scalability, which could be better. Softomotive is better scalable than WinAutomation in this regard.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've found that they have a limited support team. Issues take longer to be resolved and there usually have to be a couple of followups with their tech support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before switching to WinAutomation, we used other products, including WorkFusion and Jacada. Some were better and some worse than WinAutomation for us. However, WinAutomation's license is cheaper, which is why we ultimately switched. Also, WinAutomation is easier to understand.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very straightforward.

    What about the implementation team?

    I implemented WinAutomation myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As far as pricing goes, WinAutomation's earlier model was good. They were cheap. However, they changed the model. It's per work station now, which is okay.
