  • "User management needs improvement."
  • "User management needs improvement. It's difficult to determine what information is private. It's a bit complicated for me."

What is our primary use case?

I use Notion for project management, wikis, and note-taking. I create my own systems, including a content management system to manage content creation, approval with clients, and more.

What is most valuable?

Notion is a very flexible and customizable platform, allowing users to create whatever they need. The most impactful feature for project management is the ability to invite multiple client stakeholders without complication.

Once I understand the basics, it's easy to use despite an initial learning curve. It also significantly improves team collaboration through customized views and visualizations of data.

What needs improvement?

User management needs improvement. It's difficult to determine what information is private. It's a bit complicated for me.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion for more than two years now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I encountered a problem once when there was an outage for a couple of days. Otherwise, it is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Notion is highly scalable. It's beneficial as it can be used for small projects or by larger teams.

How are customer service and support?

I have never had to contact customer service, which indicates the product is quite stable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Notion, I used a mix of solutions like Asana and Google Drive. Notion replaced several tools for me by combining their functions.

How was the initial setup?

When you know how to use it, the initial setup is easy. However, my first impression was that it was complicated, rating it a three out of ten initially.

What about the implementation team?

I did the deployment on my own. Notion is versatile enough to be used by an individual or a large team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For my use, the pricing is reasonable. I pay around $100 per year. However, inviting additional users can become costly.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have considered other similar products like COVA or Nucleo but preferred to stick with Notion.

What other advice do I have?

Be patient with Notion during the initial days, and invest time in learning and understanding it through videos and studies. The tool becomes indispensable once you are used to it.

I rate Notion a ten out of ten.

Collaborating on shared templates has streamlined intern reports but still needs richer presets
Pros and Cons
  • "It is helpful for collecting resources and managing them on the same page, and I can share my templates with other teammates or other employees, and they can easily access and edit those templates."
  • "Notion could offer more independence in customization or have pre-built templates and more templates that help others."

What is our primary use case?

I use Notion for scheduling, note taking, and resource managing. I collect links, all interns' resumes, their offer letters, and some other paperwork reports of interns. It is helpful for collecting resources and managing them on the same page. I can share my templates with other teammates or other employees, and they can easily access and edit those templates.

When I need someone to share their reports on the platform, I share my Notion template with my teammates. They open it and add their reports to my Notion template, along with any work-related links or any tasks they have signed up for the next week. They can edit freely. I find this very useful because I do not have to ask them. They simply go to the Notion template link that I share, and every week they send their report and task list of the tasks they have completed or when the activity has finished.

What is most valuable?

I can use any templates from any influencer who has used Notion. I can use their templates freely and customize my own template as well. This is a very helpful feature.

I can access free templates on Notion and find a student resource management or timetable template. I can click and customize it according to my needs. It is helpful for collecting resources and managing them on the same page. I can share my templates with other teammates or other employees, and they can easily access and edit those templates.

When I need someone to share their reports on the platform, I share my Notion template with my teammates. I find this very useful because I do not have to ask them. They simply go to the Notion template link that I share, and every week they send their report and task list of the tasks they have completed or when the activity has finished.

What needs improvement?

Notion could offer more independence in customization or have pre-built templates and more templates that help others. Using a blank sheet and customizing your own template takes a lot of time for a user and sometimes becomes hectic.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion since my school days. It has been two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not experienced any crashes and downtime.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I am working on a small project that basically needs team leaders, maybe two to four. I do not think I have ever experienced any scalability issues with Notion. I handle small projects, so I do not have any knowledge of Notion's scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I have never needed to reach out to the team support or customer support for any resources or anything.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am using the free version of Notion. I do not think I have any price setup and licensing costs.

What other advice do I have?

I think Notion is a good app and it is very useful for students and employees, including organization employees, so they can use it freely. I would rate this product a 7 out of 10.

Arranging several subsections within a section is easy by left-clicking and moving them around with the mouse. I can organize the interface the way I want, and everything I get is adaptable.

What needs improvement?

For how long have I used the solution?

I have used Notion for project management over the past year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I tried using another solution, however, I didn't like its UI feature. Compared to Notion, it required too many clicks, so I left it alone.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's affordable and offers community support if I get stuck. I can find help through community forums like Google, where people share insights on navigating problems. Many people understand it, offering useful feedback from various HITRID.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I don't use alternate solutions.

What other advice do I have?

The decision to use this tool was solely mine. I appreciate its friendly UI and monochrome colors, which avoid excessive color mixing. This feature and the ease of navigation have kept me committed. I can understand it quickly compared to other tools.

I rate the overall solution eight out of ten; it is a basket of convenience.

Strong integration capabilities with seamless updates and collaboration
Pros and Cons
  • "Notion has very strong integration capabilities."
  • "Notion is heavily used in my workflow."
  • "If the internet or Notion's servers are down, I cannot access information. This is a big disadvantage."
  • "Notion has one big downside: the lack of an offline mode. If the internet or Notion's servers are down, I cannot access information. This is a big disadvantage."

What is our primary use case?

Currently, I am not actually using any CRM. I am a writer, so my focus is to write. I mainly cover hosting-focused articles, like V2 Cloud for virtual desktops. When I need to review them, I visit the site, take a trial, and then write the review. Internally, I use Notion to share outlines, and for personal use, I use it for note-taking, task management, and collaboration.

What is most valuable?

The main purposes are note-taking, task management, and collaboration. Notion has very strong integration capabilities. It also automatically updates itself, which adds new features and fixes bugs.

Notion's scalability works fine for our small company. Basically, Notion is used internally for sharing outlines. It is also used for note-taking, task management, and collaboration, which helps internally for our small company.

What needs improvement?

Notion has one big downside: the lack of an offline mode. If the internet or Notion's servers are down, I cannot access information. This is a big disadvantage.

Sometimes, Notion can be slow, especially if there is too much information or during peak times. This is mostly noticeable to technical users. Another issue is that there are cases where people have lost information due to bugs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion for many years and I have been working as a freelancer for the last ten years. Now I have joined the company, however, from my freelancing work, I used Notion pretty on and off. In the last few years, I have been using it very regularly.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes, Notion can be slow, especially if there is too much information or during peak times, but it is mostly noticeable to technical users.

How was the initial setup?

It is not complex to install. For someone technical, it is very easy. For beginners, it should be easy as well.

What other advice do I have?

Notion is heavily used in my workflow. The main concern is the lack of offline mode. Other than that, it is great. My rating for Notion is nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Manages tasks and reports efficiently with comprehensive functionalities
Pros and Cons
  • "Notion is an all-in-one product, allowing us to do many things in a single place."
  • "The main problem with Notion is that it's not flexible enough for all of the use cases we intend to address. For instance, it is challenging to focus on a single KPI as it's mandatory to have a chart for this purpose, complicating some of our use cases."

What is our primary use case?

We use Notion for reports, note-taking, and also for rituals like daily meetings. You can see them in a calendar. We also use it to do business reports, HR reports, and sales reports.

What is most valuable?

Notion is an all-in-one product, allowing us to do many things in a single place. We use databases and charts extensively. The tool is flexible, though not entirely for every use case. Overall, it adds significant value to our project management by organizing our work efficiently. It also contributes positively with its flexibility and comprehensive functionalities.

What needs improvement?

The main problem with Notion is that it's not flexible enough for all of the use cases we intend to address. For instance, it is challenging to focus on a single KPI as it's mandatory to have a chart for this purpose, complicating some of our use cases.

We have been using Notion for two years now, maybe almost three.

Enhancing legal workflows with seamless integration and real-time collaboration
Pros and Cons
  • "It is easy to use and very intuitive compared to Microsoft Project."
  • "It can be difficult to contact the people at Notion."

What is our primary use case?

I am trying to make a program to improve the quality of my lawyer field. I put contacts and dates that we need to remember in Notion, focusing on the people we work with.

How has it helped my organization?

Integration with Notion allows me to manage documents from other tools like Google Drive and Trello without needing to open them separately. I can program emails to clients with Zapier, automating tasks like notifications about contract expiry.

What is most valuable?

It is easy to use and very intuitive compared to Microsoft Project. The collaboration in real-time is beneficial, and there is integration with various tools like Google Drive, Trello, Slack, and Zapier.

What needs improvement?

It can be difficult to contact the people at Notion. They don't provide a formal answer, just tutorials, so their customer service could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion for about two months.

How are customer service and support?

Their customer service is not very helpful as they do not provide formal answers or support, just tutorials.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

I have an experience to know how to use Microsoft Project. I don't use it frequently.

How was the initial setup?

For companies, it's a good price. For a single person or student, it might be a little expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am investigating other software to recommend for my company.

What other advice do I have?

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Versatile productivity tool that requires commitment and a learning curve
Pros and Cons
  • "The ability to structure data is one of the most essential functions of Notion."
  • "Adding more color options to the application would enhance its usability and flexibility, allowing users to better customize their content"

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use it for managing tasks and collaborating with colleagues. When I encounter an issue or have a task to complete, I create a ticket and provide solutions. I also use Notion to schedule my work and coding tasks since it's a versatile tool that helps me stay organized. For instance, when I encounter hiccups in the morning, I can simply refer to my Notion workspace to see what tasks need to be addressed and then review them at the end of the day. Its flexibility allows me to customize the design to my liking, making it user-friendly.

How has it helped my organization?

My team often works remotely and Notion has become an integral part of our workflow, and it has greatly improved our productivity. We use it not only for providing services to our clients but also for keeping ourselves organized and on track with our daily tasks. This dual purpose has proven to be a valuable experience for us, both in terms of monitoring our progress and ensuring that we stay on top of our daily responsibilities.

What is most valuable?

I find the table feature in Notion to be incredibly valuable as it allows me to organize and manage data efficiently. The ability to structure data is one of the most essential functions of Notion. Also, the capability to link data between different parts of the business is a standout feature.

What needs improvement?

It would be great if Notion introduced a feature like network logs or simply expanded its color palette. Currently, the available color choices are somewhat limited, and I often receive requests from people for specific colors that are not available. Adding more color options to the application would enhance its usability and flexibility, allowing users to better customize their content.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion for around five months now.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It provides excellent stability capabilities.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It has proven to be highly scalable and capable of accommodating thousands of contacts and extensive data without any issues.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience using both Asana and Notion and when it comes to choosing between the two, I find myself leaning more towards Notion. While Asana is undoubtedly a good tool, I have some reservations about its design and interface. Notion, on the other hand, has a great design and interface. Asana is effective for task management, but I didn't connect with it as much, since I didn't use it extensively. My experience with Notion has been different and I quickly grasped its capabilities and enjoyed the learning process. It encourages a more technical approach with features like formulas and the ability to create customized databases, which I appreciate. It allows users to bring their ideas to life without being limited by pre-defined structures.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing structure is quite reasonable, and the basic plan covers the most essential features. It is ideal for those who simply need to create and manage tasks or to-do lists.

What other advice do I have?

For companies considering adopting Notion as their organizational tool, I would recommend taking the time to thoroughly evaluate it, alongside other options like Asana. Different companies have varying levels of patience when it comes to learning and implementing new features, and Notion's extensive capabilities might make some hesitant. It requires an investment of time and effort because it offers a high degree of technical flexibility, akin to coding in some aspects. Therefore, if your organization is looking for a quick and simple solution to manage databases and CRMs, you might want to explore other product management platforms. If your company is willing to invest the time and effort into learning and implementing Notion effectively, it can greatly enhance productivity as it allows you to create a customized and user-friendly interface, tailored to your specific needs. I would rate it seven out of ten.

A flexible tool that helps individuals and businesses organize their activities while ensuring that its users experience an increase in their productivity
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of the solution is its flexibility...The initial setup of Notion is easy."
  • "The linked view of database, along with the sharing and permission settings, are areas with shortcomings in the solution that need improvement."

What is our primary use case?

I use Notion as a tool to organize my own activities and plans to help me with my productivity part. I help my company's clients to organize their business with Notion.

How has it helped my organization?

I work with many clients and keep juggling from one project to another. I have to use QuickBooks and Keeper for jotting down notes about the cases I encounter. With Notion, I can create different segments and specifically organize the details pertaining to each client. I don't really have to stress about remembering the details of each client separately since I can just organize the details concerning a particular client. All in all, I get to see an overview of everything I handle in Notion, and I can really get into the details, such as the details of my work on a particular day. In Notion, I see what tasks are coming up, along with their deadlines.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of the solution is its flexibility. Notion is a tool that allows you to fit everything in the solution. Notion allows you to build the solution the way you want it.

What needs improvement?

The linked view of database, along with the sharing and permission settings, are areas with shortcomings in the solution that need improvement.

I would like to see Notion with more automation and exchange functionalities that can be used for databases so that I don't have to necessarily use some external integration platform to connect to other databases.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Notion for two to three years. I use the solution's online version without downloading its application.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have noticed that the solution crashes, especially when I was testing a few things, because of which I had to do everything again. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine to ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I won't be able to comment on the solution's technical support since I can gather the information I want from social groups. The technical support is not really there at all.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Notion is easy. The solution helps you with basic things, but you can also use the solution similar to how I use it to deal regularly with complex stuff.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

What was our ROI?

I have experienced a return on investment with Notion since it helped my productivity go through the roof.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution's pricing can seem steep, especially when you work with a lot of people. If you are working on your own or for another business, the solution's price won't affect you much.

What other advice do I have?

Notion shared an update for the database, which allows you to share your database the same way you can do it on monday.com, making it one of the fantastic additions.

I would tell those planning to use the solution that they need not get scared or overwhelmed with what they see online since everybody started with the solution somewhere.

I rate the overall solution an eight out of ten.
