Single sign-on has simplified authentication and now reduces login-related support tickets
Pros and Cons
  • "Since implementing OneLogin, I have been seeing a significant reduction in login-related support tickets, approximately a 30% decrease."
  • "Other organizations can use OneLogin, but they can also refer to Okta."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin revolves around application integration and user authentication. I primarily utilize it to implement Single Sign-On across internal and external applications, which significantly simplifies the login process for users.

I use OneLogin for Single Sign-On with an internal project management tool that our team uses alongside a customer relationship management CRM system. Before integrating OneLogin, users had to remember separate login credentials for each application, which was a hassle and often led to frustration. The process has become much smoother with login pages, authentication, and access granted.

What is most valuable?

The best features OneLogin offers are Single Sign-On, multiple Multi-Factor Authentication, and user provisioning.

Multi-Factor Authentication is generally useful for adding an extra layer of security, which is crucial, especially for the sensitive nature of the data we handle.

OneLogin has had several positive impacts on my organization in several key areas. Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication have been beneficial. Additionally, the user authentication has been improved remarkably. Before OneLogin, our team was burdened with managing multiple credentials, but now it is much more efficient.

Since implementing OneLogin, I have been seeing a significant reduction in login-related support tickets, approximately a 30% decrease.

I do utilize Smart Factor Authentication with OneLogin. I find it to be a really valuable feature for balancing security and usability.

What needs improvement?

OneLogin can add more analytics and reporting and integrate with more third-party applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field for a year.

Identity tools have strengthened compliance checks and real-time threat detection
Pros and Cons
  • "OneLogin has positively impacted my organization because it gives me audit logs and compliance, both of which are very important for many of my clients, especially for this oncology hospital."
  • "I think OneLogin is good, but it would be better if it could provide a mobile app that includes specific features, for example, to check logs or compliance."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin is to complete compliance checks, as I use it to detect if there are issues in ISO 27001, SOX, HIPAA, or GDPR.

A few months ago, I had a client that was a hospital for oncologies, and I had to use some AWS services to store data. I needed to check if it was compliant with GDPR.

I also use OneLogin to detect anomalous behaviors in real time.

What is most valuable?

OneLogin offers several best features that include helping me audit who accessed the system, when, and what they did. It helps me detect anomalous behavior, and it also has a single sign-on that allows me to control these features.

Additionally, OneLogin has Vigilance AI and threat detection, which provides real-time threat detection that protects against credential-based attacks.

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization because it gives me audit logs and compliance, both of which are very important for many of my clients, especially for this oncology hospital.

What needs improvement?

I think OneLogin is good, but it would be better if it could provide a mobile app that includes specific features, for example, to check logs or compliance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for around two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

OneLogin is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin's scalability is very easy. I only need to follow a few wizards, and then I can scale up or down at any time I want.

How was the initial setup?

I advise others looking into using OneLogin that it is very easy to use. I can deploy it in minutes, and playing with the functionalities can yield good results.

What was our ROI?

I believe there is time saved because I can generate reports in seconds or minutes, allowing me to detect all users and their devices. I don't have exact return on investment numbers since I don't manage that account directly, but I think my organization needs fewer employees and saves time.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

From what I've heard, pricing is interesting as it's cheaper than other solutions. The setup cost and licensing are also inexpensive because I don't have to spend a lot to access all these functionalities, which would be more expensive with other providers.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I haven't evaluated other options before choosing OneLogin because it was already in use by my client, who explained that they utilized this solution, and I needed to adapt my development around it.

What other advice do I have?

I think the user identity synchronization across directories functionality is very reliable and well-integrated. If I am running modern and cloud-first applications, it's very good, but if I am in a complex hybrid environment, I need to invest a bit more time to configure it.

The integration of phishing-resistant device trust has significantly reduced phishing attacks because I now have all devices registered from my users, requiring users to register new devices and unregister previous ones. I can't control everything, such as users clicking on suspicious emails, but this solution helps mitigate the problem.

I think the solution provides a very user-friendly experience for signing in and authenticating to needed applications. Nowadays, many users are accustomed to logging in with social networks, so they feel familiar with the process through this application.

I have used SmartFactor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real time based on the risk score associated with the login attempt, and I find it very helpful. I first identify all the users entering the system, then I check all the devices, and then I start creating an entry system without rules, progressively adding more rules as I learn the user behavior.

I have not used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI, but I have seen a demo. The challenge I face is that I don't have access to a client that has implemented this. However, I heard it's spectacular because it shows real-time detection of spikes, regular behavior, and suspicious behavior, offering insights on how to control or mitigate risk.

HR-driven identity management plays a special role in streamlining employee identity handling in my organization because it helps identify all users and devices. Nowadays, users can have multiple devices such as smartwatches, iPods, iPads, and more.

My overall review rating for OneLogin is ten out of ten.

Single sign-on has streamlined secure access with adaptive multifactor for all applications
Pros and Cons
  • "OneLogin delivers a very good user experience with true single sign-on that minimizes authentication overhead and allows consistent access across applications."

What is our primary use case?

As an engineer, I primarily use OneLogin to implement single sign-on and manage authentication for different applications, which has significantly helped us connect Active Directory with cloud apps and control user access. This makes user management easier for both the IT team and end users.

When a user logs in from the office network, they gain direct access to apps without additional steps. However, if the same user logs in from a new device, multifactor authentication is triggered, ensuring smooth access for employees.

I use SmartFactor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real-time based on the risk score associated with the login attempt. Each login attempt is evaluated in real-time based on several parameters including the user's real-time location, device trustworthiness, IP reputation, and behavior patterns. The risk score determines whether to allow the application, trigger MFA, or enforce strict verification.

I use the adaptive login flow for Vigilance AI, which has greatly impacted our risk detection and control over authentication.

    What is most valuable?

OneLogin provides a smooth single sign-on experience for users, along with SmartFactor improving security and usability while significantly reducing password-related support tickets.

Automation is an additional valuable feature that helps us assign applications to users automatically, reducing manual work for the IT team and making onboarding much faster than previously experienced.

The integration of phishing-resistant device trust offers a strong authentication process, significantly enhancing security by preventing phishing-based attacks. Post-adaptation, it makes authentication easier and faster for employee users compared to traditional multifactor authentication.

Based on my hands-on experience with OneLogin, I do not see any features lacking and it provides a full feature set with no immediate need for improvement.

    What needs improvement?

The one area for enhancement I can suggest is the initial setup, which requires considerable planning to execute the deployment. Otherwise, everything else is excellent and I do not see any improvement needed for OneLogin at this time.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for more than two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    OneLogin is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin is outstanding in terms of scalability and I have not faced any challenges as it is highly scalable, especially for growing organizations and enterprise environments.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support team is strong and effective, assisting in troubleshooting challenges related to single sign-on setup, Active Directory sync-up, and multifactor authentication policies.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have been using OneLogin from day one and there was not a different solution prior to this.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup requires considerable planning to execute the deployment. Automation helps us assign applications to users automatically, reducing manual work for the IT team and making onboarding much faster than previously experienced.

    What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with OneLogin in the past few years, evidenced by both time-saving and reduction in challenges.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have not evaluated other options before choosing OneLogin.

What other advice do I have?

OneLogin is a very excellent solution and I highly recommend considering OneLogin for any environment, as it proves beneficial for single sign-on and multifactor authentication, controlling application access based on real-time user behavior. OneLogin delivers a very good user experience with true single sign-on that minimizes authentication overhead and allows consistent access across applications. I rate OneLogin 10 out of 10.

Adaptive authentication has improved onboarding experiences but still needs broader deployment options
      Pros and Cons
      • "SmartFactor Authentication stands out for me because it supports no compromise."
      • "However, the downfall rests with the lack of an on-premises solution or cloud in some areas, which prevents OneLogin from accessing some significant markets. Additionally, the weakness of their CIAM module is a concern."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily used OneLogin for proof of concept to showcase potential customers its use cases. I tried almost all of the use cases that OneLogin supports, from integrating with directories and target systems to using SAML and providing entitlements. I demonstrated the onboarding cycle as a specific use case to a customer with OneLogin.

      What is most valuable?

I use OneLogin's SmartFactor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real time, and I assess SmartFactor Authentication as very good. It is one of the best tools they created.

SmartFactor Authentication stands out for me because it supports no compromise. Usually, there is either a compromise of user experience for risk or a compromise of risk for user experience. With SmartFactor Authentication, I can balance between them. I can give users an easy and smooth user experience as long as the risk indices are low, but I can implement pretty rigid authentication workflows if the risk gets higher. So it is very good.

My impression of the user identity synchronization across directories functionality in OneLogin is that it is very nice. It is very easy to implement and very easy to use. There is nothing bad about it. The synchronization runs smoothly.

My impression of OneLogin's ability to provide a seamless end-user experience for signing in and authenticating to needed applications is that it is very nice.

      What needs improvement?

The user experience is very nice, which is why I give OneLogin a rating of seven. It is easy to implement and incorporate in any enterprise, and you can define the ROI pretty fast. However, the downfall rests with the lack of an on-premises solution or cloud in some areas, which prevents OneLogin from accessing some significant markets. Additionally, the weakness of their CIAM module is a concern.

There are no other improvements I think are needed for OneLogin.

For how long have I used the solution?

I used OneLogin for around three years, but it was not continuous usage. I conducted several POCs with it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

My experience with OneLogin's stability has been positive.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin's scalability is great in my experience.

How are customer service and support?

I do not have any comments about the customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not switch to OneLogin from a different solution because I used OneLogin initially.

      What was our ROI?

Unfortunately, I do not have any numbers right now regarding whether I have seen a return on investment with OneLogin or any relevant metrics such as time saved, cost reduction, or fewer support tickets.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for OneLogin was very nice.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing OneLogin, I evaluated other options such as PingFederate. It is very resourceful and very good, but the problem is that it is very complex. For very big enterprises, it is one of the best solutions. It has huge diversity in hosting and deployment options. You can deploy it on-premises, in the cloud, or through other methods. It can provide much stronger customization. However, it is much more difficult to onboard in the enterprise. For smaller enterprises that have standard requirements, OneLogin is much better. It is much more efficient and easier to use.

What other advice do I have?

I have used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI, and while I do not remember all of the details, I believe it was a very useful experience. I give OneLogin an overall rating of seven.

      Pros and Cons
      • "I have seen fewer support tickets after implementing OneLogin, which have been reduced by 60 to 70 percent compared to the previous method."

What is our primary use case?

In day-to-day operations, the main use case for OneLogin is to implement single sign-on and unified central authentication for my application. It connects directly to services like Active Directory and SaaS platforms, which helps manage user access from a single point.

OneLogin allows users to authenticate once and access multiple systems using federation protocols such as SAML, which reduces credential management. Additionally, it employs policy-based authentication where authentication rules are defined based on conditions such as user role, device, and location to control how users log in, thereby improving security.

        What is most valuable?

The best features OneLogin offers include SmartFactor Authentication, which is very useful because it adjusts security based on login risk and avoids forcing multifactor authentication for every login. This improves both usability and security.

The authentication feature of OneLogin stands out compared to other solutions I have used because it is very user-friendly, balancing strong security with a smooth user experience.

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization in multiple ways. It has simplified authentication and reduced password-related issues. Users can access multiple applications easily through single sign-on, and security has improved with multifactor authentication and defined policies.

I have seen fewer support tickets after implementing OneLogin, which have been reduced by 60 to 70 percent compared to the previous method. The organization is also noticing a significant improvement in security with less effort, making this a very good example of time-saving for us.

        What needs improvement?

OneLogin is working well for us currently. However, the initial custom integration could be simplified, as it is somewhat complex.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using OneLogin for more than four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

        OneLogin is stable.

Scalability-wise, OneLogin is outstanding and really balances the requirements of the organization based on real-time needs.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support for OneLogin is very interactive, and they are good at their technical aspects, being able to resolve issues and guide us in technical matters.

        What was our ROI?

I have seen a very good return on investment, such as money saved and time saved as a result of using OneLogin.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing for OneLogin has been great with the vendor sales team.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using OneLogin is to consider the login process, plan your identity strategy, and ensure proper integration before deployment. I would rate this review an 8 out of 10.

One of the things we are most proud of about OneLogin is deployment, how we made strong security fields almost invisible to employees. This is an example of operation, and we are able to seamlessly manage user data and user accounts.

The best thing about OneLogin is that the integration was seamless and we have not faced any kind of challenge. It provides audit and compliance preparation, so we are able to meet our audits by gathering the logs from OneLogin. We are able to easily deploy or provision users in OneLogin.

          What is most valuable?

          Pros and Cons
          • "OneLogin has positively impacted my organization by allowing users to securely access multiple applications with a single sign-on, improving user experience, and reducing password-related issues and support tickets."
          • "I believe support response time and troubleshooting for complex integrations could be improved in some cases for OneLogin."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for OneLogin is managing secure user authentication and single sign-on across multiple business applications and for user provisioning, user control, and multi-factor authentication.

A specific example of how I use OneLogin for those purposes in my day-to-day work includes identity and access management, especially for single sign-on and secure user authentication across multiple applications and services.

I do use the solution's Smart Factor Authentication to adjust authentication flows in real-time depending on the risk score associated with the login attempt, and I assess it as very effective from a security perspective because high-risk or unusual login attempts trigger stronger authentication controls. The balance between security and usability is one of the strongest points of Smart Factor Authentication because it improves protection while minimizing friction for the end user in day-to-day operations.

My impression of the user identity synchronization features in OneLogin is very positive; it works well for synchronizing users across different directories such as Active Directory, LDAP, cloud directories, and HR systems.

The integration of phishing-resistant device trust impacts my authentication processes by reducing the risks of phishing-based attacks, credential theft, and unauthorized access because authentication decisions are based not only on passwords but also on device trust and user behavior.

I have not used the adaptive login flows with Vigilance AI.

When employees change departments or leave the organization, access permissions and accounts are automatically updated or revoked, although I do not use HR-driven identity management.

          What is most valuable?

I would like to add that the multi-factor authentication features in OneLogin help improve account security by adding an extra layer of protection beyond just passwords.

The best features OneLogin offers, in my opinion, include centralized identity and access management, a simple and user-friendly dashboard, secure remote access for users working from different locations, and good reporting and monitoring features for security and compliance.

Out of those features, I find myself relying on multi-factor authentication the most because it helps improve account security by adding an extra layer of protection beyond just passwords, and the centralized dashboard and automation features also help reduce manual work related to user provisioning, password management, and access review.

OneLogin has positively impacted my organization by allowing users to securely access multiple applications with a single sign-on, improving user experience, and reducing password-related issues and support tickets.

From a security perspective, features such as MFA and authentication help reduce the risks of unauthorized access and improve visibility into suspicious login activities, which contributes to measurable drops in password-related support tickets and time saved for our IT team after implementing OneLogin.

          What needs improvement?

I believe support response time and troubleshooting for complex integrations could be improved in some cases for OneLogin.

I have noticed that customization of reports and alerts would make daily operations even smoother for security and IT teams.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

OneLogin's scalability is quite stable and works well for growing organizations and enterprise environments; in our case, it handles an increasing number of user applications and authentication requests effectively.

How are customer service and support?

          Customer support is good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before implementing OneLogin, we were mainly using traditional Active Directory-based authentication, and we switched to OneLogin to get centralized identity and access management, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication.

          How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for OneLogin has been generally positive. The initial setup required proper planning, especially for integrating Active Directory, and we also saw value from reduced password-related support tickets.

          What about the implementation team?

OneLogin was implemented through the organization's standards licensing and procurement process, and not purchased through the Azure Marketplace.

          What was our ROI?

We have seen a good return on investment after implementing OneLogin, with the biggest improvements being reduced support efforts, faster user management, and stronger security controls.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing for OneLogin has been generally positive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated a few other IAM and SSO solutions such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID before choosing OneLogin.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise organizations considering OneLogin to first understand their application environment, user access requirements, and user provisioning needs, as this helps make the implementation smoother and more effective. I would rate this review as a 9.
