Microsoft Dynamics AX Pricing
Microsoft Dynamics AX provides benefits like saving time because it is very easy to use and it offers strong processes to implement full business processes, mapping them with customer business for full control. However, the prices are a little high, especially after going to the cloud, costing around 210 to 212 dollars per user per month, which is costly for an enterprise company with 50 users.
I think it would be great if Microsoft made the price model flexible per company and per country, considering that some countries face different economic situations which makes Microsoft pricing seem very high. This could increase Microsoft profit through more sales.

The pricing for Microsoft Dynamics AX is generally affordable for small companies, with a yearly maintenance license costing about 5,000 Hong Kong dollars. However, acquiring a developer license for customization is expensive, costing over one hundred thousand Hong Kong dollars. Without it, partners must be hired for customization, which is costly. For our company, it becomes worthwhile to purchase the license if used for more than three years.

Comparatively, Business Central appears to be more cost-effective. Microsoft offers Business Central at only $70 per user per month in the US. In contrast, GP requires an initial investment, including around $9,000 for the GP license for three users and additional expenses for hardware. Therefore, the initial investment for GP is quite substantial. On the other hand, cloud-based ERP products like Business Central do not entail the same upfront investment and operate on an ongoing, subscription-based model.

The product's license is expensive. My company is located in a region where we have to pay the most for the tool due to our currency and inflation scenario. The product may be available in the US at a very good cost. If my company opts for the annual subscription offered by the product, we get some discounts.
The solution’s pricing is reasonable compared to Oracle.

The platform's price offering is good. However, it gets costlier with time as more data accumulates in the cloud. My last client used to renew the license every six months.

The tool is very expensive. One license costs $1,000. So, we paid $20,000 for 20 licenses. We have to pay the license fee annually.

The yearly licenses are priced okay.
View full review »Licensing is stable, and overall, the users are satisfied with it. For now, our Dynamic AX domain is on-premises. We asked for different quotations for AX 2009 and Dynamics 365 as we might switch to it in the future, so it's up to the company which one will be accepted.

It is an expensive solution.
View full review »In relation to the cloud, it might be expensive for a longer duration. However, it's essential to consider the demands of enterprise users. While it's cost-effective in the short run, it becomes relatively costly in the long run.

When we first implemented the solution, Microsoft licensing was cames with the concurrent use licensing. Nowadays, even if we procure the license, the additional cost of the operating system, the additional cost of database licenses, the additional cost of Visual Studio, and the additional cost for Microsoft Office and that all. If we need to access that from remote locations, multiple branches, then we need to procure remote desktop services licenses. So apart from licenses of Microsoft ERP, there are multiple licenses, supporting licenses we need to procure. That is the disadvantage of the solution. The ownership cost or, rather, whatever the initial investment cost goes up due to this hidden cost. Initially, that is not considered in many things.

I don't deal with the licensing or pricing side of things, and therefore can't speak to how much it costs or how often licensing comes due. It is likely mid-level pricing - not the cheapest, and not the most expensive. There are other options for smaller-scale businesses such as NetSuite or SAP Business One that likely cost less.

There are about 50 to 100 users, generally at each company. One of our customers has 200 stores. There's a lot of users when you calculate the number of users at each site. We negotiate licences with Microsoft. Microsoft provides a premium support agreement with partners. It's expensive for my country, Turkey. It's too expensive for customers to take this on themselves. As partners, we will buy this on behalf of the customers and then charge this value for each project.

View full review »The pricing level is quite good. It's the licensing or server speeds which you are using with the cloud solutions or cloud services, and it's at a very reasonable level right now. They are quite competitive within the market.
View full review »I don't know how much this solution costs off the top of my head, but I know that the cloud and SaaS solutions are cheaper.
View full review »Pricing for Dynamics is costly and needs to be improved. To boost the users to purchase a minimum license to end-users on the Cloud is expensive.
It is $180 to $200 per user per month with a minimum of 20 users, which makes selling the product a bit difficult.
The Business Central price is quite suitable. It is $70.00 per user per month and $100 per month as a package, which is better.
View full review »We have different components to use with the Dynamics solution and that can affect the price, but the price for the product is relatively high any way you look at it. You pay per seat for the number of users. Then we have, of course, the hosting costs for the server it runs on. Because we host it ourselves in a private cloud we do the maintenance on the OS level. I think that moving to a SaaS will decrease the cost a little bit.
View full review »- Go for cloud implementation, if cost is critical.
- Know the solution provider's fiscal period, as you can get a better discount if the contract signing is near the end of the fiscal period.
- Identify your end-user role, as the license is based on user role/access.
The pricing model does not really fit all customers that I offer consulting too.
