Easy to set up, flexible, and well-priced

What is our primary use case?

I am a consultant and Amazon AWS is one of the platforms that I use.

What is most valuable?

The best features are flexibility and cost.

What needs improvement?

Scaling is an area that can be improved. For example, I would like to be able to change the amount of memory that is allocated to a server. This would give us better performance. I know that it can be done but it isn't obvious how to do it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Amazon AWS for between two and three years.

Ever-improving, stable solution but could use APM monitoring

What is our primary use case?

Easy to install and has good storage, gateway, and documentation
Pros and Cons
  • "The storage is most valuable. The gateway and documentation are also quite good."
  • "Its price should be lower. The price for in-house usage should be different from production usage."

What is our primary use case?

We have just started to use this solution. We are using it for Amazon S3 Bucket.

What is most valuable?

The storage is most valuable. The gateway and documentation are also quite good.

What needs improvement?

Its price should be lower. The price for in-house usage should be different from production usage.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Amazon AWS for around a month.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I didn't use any other solution previously.

How was the initial setup?

It was easy to install.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Its price should be lower. Currently, the price is the same if you are working in-house or in production. If you have to do internal testing or you are checking if things are working in-house, you need to pay for that, and the price is the same. The price for in-house usage should be different from production usage.

What other advice do I have?

It is a good solution. I would rate Amazon AWS an eight out of ten.

Economical, with good performance and good support

What is our primary use case?

We use Amazon AWS for website hosting, application hosting, and serverless computing.

What is most valuable?

Everything is good.

It is easy to use.

The performance is good.

It's also very economical.

What needs improvement?

The pricing is reasonable but there is always room to be better.

If it was offered for free, it would be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Amazon AWS for three years.

We are using the latest version.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 20 people in our organization who are using Amazon AWS.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support is okay.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud as well.

How was the initial setup?

It's a cloud-based solution, there is no installation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price is quite reasonable.

With Amazon AWS, you pay as you go.

Good services and integration capabilities but sometimes the configuration is off
Pros and Cons
  • "They integrate well with various other solutions."
  • "I'd like to see integration with MySQL."

What is most valuable?

The services on offer are good.

I use the RDS a lot.

I've recently implemented more systems on Amazon. They integrate well with various other solutions.

Managing databases, and moving them from on-premises to the cloud is easy.

What needs improvement?

I need to read a bit more and figure out if the database configuration is off. I'm finding that the solution can sometimes be slow.

If I have a complex database on the OCI and try to move in AWS, for example, sometimes I can't do it. I'd like it to be easier if possible.

I'd like to see integration with MySQL.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for two years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've worked with Azure and Oracle as well. A big part of our database is on Oracle OCI. It might be as much as 70%.

How was the initial setup?

I can handle the implementation process. I've done a few lately.

What other advice do I have?

We're a customer and an end-user.

I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.

Helpful support, stable, and the integration is good

What is our primary use case?

We have been using AWS for our own product. We are not direct users. Rather, our customers are using our product, which is hosted on AWS.

What needs improvement?

The cost should be reduced.

They should have a better big data stack.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been dealing with Amazon AWS for the last six years.

This product is stable and we plan to continue selling it in the future. All of our products are tightly integrated with AWS.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

AWS is a scalable platform.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is good.

How was the initial setup?

There is no installation for AWS, as it is a cloud product.

What other advice do I have?

A cloud computing solution to quickly deploy in multi-data regions, but the price could be better

What is our primary use case?

We mainly use AWS, EC2, and RDS. We also use the BI tools and the data warehouse.

What is most valuable?

The most important feature is deploying our production in multi-data regions around the world.

What needs improvement?

I think the price can be improved. The price is high now, and Amazon's web portal can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Amazon AWS for about four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Amazon AWS is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's scalable now that EC2 can support scaling.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward, and we deploy our production every week.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price can be better.

What other advice do I have?

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Amazon AWS a five.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
