We are very satisfied with SAP Business One application. It is deployed on-premises. We reviewed the cost of cloud, and it is very expensive. We have about 200 users on-premises and plan to remain on-premises.

A solution with great sales and wholesale distribution features
Pros and Cons
- "The sales and wholesale distribution are great."
- "We are very satisfied with SAP Business One application."
- "We don't have the functionality of the supply chain and mobile applications."
- "We don't have the functionality of the supply chain and mobile applications and use third-party applications for this."
How has it helped my organization?
What is most valuable?
The sales and wholesale distribution are great.
What needs improvement?
We don't have the functionality of the supply chain and mobile applications and use third-party applications for this. We sell our products in little stores, and we need a phone to take the requirements of our customers, and the information goes to SAP. We have 15 warehouses to track picking, packing and all the processes in sales and the supply chain. So it is also essential to have good business intelligence.
Our problem is that we have five or six companies using SAP Business One, and when we need to have a disaster recovery plan, we need to execute a full backup of all of our companies. We need to have a backup for only one company, which is impossible.
How are customer service and support?
Our technical support is from our partner in Guatemala City, and we don't need to scale the problem to SAP. Our partner has great support, and we are very satisfied with their service.

What other advice do I have?
I rate the solution a nine out of ten. We are concerned with the Web Client because it doesn't have the old features we had on a desktop. In addition, we need more flexibility in the authorization process for purchasing because we don't have all the information we need to approve. We need to navigate different areas for information, and we only need one screen with all the information for the approved process.

Powerful with good integrations and excellent online documentation
Pros and Cons
- "It's very powerful and very complete."
- "The parametrization and the integration of all the models is great, all the models are integrated well, the UX experience is also very good, and the solution is very powerful and very complete."
- "You get support through the vendor, not SAP directly. If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad."
- "If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad."
What is our primary use case?
Both of our customers are retailers - one in the construction sector and other with automotive parts. We have a great number of items and clients in both enterprises.
We can use the solution to guarantee the enterprise, the technology platform. We've been working with COBOL and SQL for more than 20 years, and we have to migrate to a platform with international knowledge or experience.
We have experience in ERP development and also the technological projection for the short and long term. That's why we chose to work with SAP Business One.
What is most valuable?
The parametrization and the integration of all the models is great. All the models are integrated well.
The UX experience is also very good.
It's very powerful and very complete.
The setup is pretty straightforward.
It's a scalable product.
It is quite stable.
The solution offers excellent online documentation.
It seems that SAP is always giving you much more tips and upgrades than you are expecting.
What needs improvement?
Business One has a lot of data in each model, and it should be quite important to make the UX or interface for end users more simple. We can do it with other software and with some user interface that comes with SAP, however, that is perhaps the one meaningful issue to solve.
When you want to work with data master items, there is no good manner to classify or to group the items. We have to do it with user information. They really need better classification of items. We have a lot of items, and SAP Business One comes only with one parameter to group the items and 64 properties. However, that is not what the system needs at all.
There's not much that needs fixing. It's been a very good experience through the years.
You get support through the vendor, not SAP directly. If your vendor is good, you get good support. If it is not a good vendor, the support is very bad.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for ten years. I started using it in 2012.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's stable and reliable. The performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution scales well.
I am working with 200 end users now, and it seems that the two people we have for support of the ERP is good.
How are customer service and support?
We have the contact and support of the partner that sold us the SAP application. Therefore, support comes through a third party.
From the vendor, support is very good. In some areas, we must view and understand the topics through information on the web, not directly through them.
SAP doesn't give us support directly. The support of SAP is with partner intermediation. However, you must study and learn from the web every time. That's key for understanding and giving good support for the software.
We had to change partners to get a better support system in place and now they are good. The documentation, however, is stellar, and I would rate what's online a ten out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
How was the initial setup?
After you know stuff about the software, it's easy.
YOu only need two or three people to put up the solution. They are specialists.
What other advice do I have?
I'm a consultant and a user. We consider ourselves a partner.
It's a very good product. Whoever wants to buy this product, needs to understand how SAP works through a partner or directly. The enterprise must have a technical counterpart with a lot of experience, real experience since the software doesn't work alone. It's very good software, however, if you depend exclusively on the partner, that doesn't work very well.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

Good accounting and finance features but needs to have barcode functionality
Pros and Cons
- "You can scale the solution well."
- "The most important features are the accounting and finance features, everything leads to finance, the initial setup is not too complex, it's stable, you can scale the solution well, and the pricing is good."
- "Some features are missing."
- "We have some problems around here, in Business One. It's hard to have separate models."
What is our primary use case?
The solution is very useful for manufacturing companies.
What is most valuable?
The most important features are the accounting and finance features. Everything leads to finance.
The initial setup is not too complex.
It's stable.
You can scale the solution well.
The pricing is good.
What needs improvement?
We have some problems around here, in Business One. It's hard to have separate models. We have to make multiple forms and have problems doing that. In manufacturing, we do not have things like the actual cost of the fabric, loss of material, the various costs of raw materials, et cetera.
Some features are missing.
We'd like to see the solution support barcode features.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've used the solution for around five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is stable and reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable.
We have 125 licenses.
How are customer service and support?
There are some problems in technical support in Pakistan.
I have a big license for SAP Business One, one of the 20 licenses. And S4HANA's support in Python is not ideal. Our control team many times has complained due to the slow, slow response for Business One. If you upgrade the hardware, you should get more services.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We want to move to S4HANA as it has a better design.
How was the initial setup?
The product does not require a complex setup.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is pretty good. We did not find it to be too expensive.
What other advice do I have?
We are consultants and have customers in Pakistan using it.
I'd rate the solution six out of ten.

MRP functions help manage the entire supply chain
Pros and Cons
- "For us, the most useful feature of Business One is Material Requirements Planning (MRP)."
- "We bought all licenses for the whole package in the very beginning, and now we're just paying for 404 licensed maintenance. It's a standard fee. Of course, we still pay partners for implementation."
- "For us, the most useful feature of Business One is Material Requirements Planning (MRP)."
- "Business One doesn't have a proper master data management function."
- "With Business One, you have too much spare functionality. It doesn't create value for the business, but it creates a higher workload for employees in terms of payer processes, administration, development, etc."
What is our primary use case?
We are a beverage manufacturer in the fast-moving consumer goods sector that uses Business One throughout our whole supply chain. We start with forecasting, which is not calibrated well currently, and then we download the sales plan into SAP. Based on the sales plan, we provide plans for production via MRP algorithms. The primary function of Business One is to handle all this data we are getting about purchase orders, raw materials, packaging, etc. We also plan to acquire a production module for MRP II functionality, but we haven't acquired it yet and have not decided on the production model. Right now, upwards of 230 people using it, including salespeople, accountants, warehouse workers, production workers, purchase servers, and people who handle procurement. At the moment, it's all.
What is most valuable?
For us, the most useful feature of Business One is Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
What needs improvement?
First of all, Business One doesn't have a proper master data management function. So, with any implementation, we had to select the work provider and determine who is responsible for which category of data. We also have to set the data format of the master data, especially an SKU, which should be formatted as an SKU. This is a vast amount of work that involves all departments. Second, I would consider the supply chain. Each function is highly dependent on another function. We still have a 1C:Accounting system, but it's not a system at all. With Business One, you have too much spare functionality. It doesn't create value for the business, but it creates a higher workload for employees in terms of payer processes, administration, development, etc. It's not easy. Because of how mature the organization is, there is less readiness for change. I would not consider this satisfactory.
After working with Business One for a while, we are becoming more effective. However, we still have some issues involving business experts and even having a category of users like business process owners. We use almost all of Business One's functionality except maybe CRM. We don't yet use CRM. Also, we don't use forecasting because forecasting is internal in B1 forecasting. It only has two algorithms, which might not be enough for us. But it would be great to have more advanced forecasting functionality.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Business One for maybe two years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of Business One is pretty nice.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability has been pretty good so far. We haven't had any serious mishaps yet. If you satisfy the hardware requirements, it's completely okay.
How are customer service and support?
I have not had any direct contact with SAP technical support. Our support is provided by the partners.
How was the initial setup?
We used a partner to set Business One up and we still use one. We are just customers. As far as maintenance goes, we have 10 people maintaining the solution counting only key users. There are about 10 more consultants and developers on top of that. We are still in the implementation phase.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We bought all licenses for the whole package in the very beginning, and now we're just paying for 404 licensed maintenance. It's a standard fee. Of course, we still pay partners for implementation.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We also considered Microsoft Dynamics 365 as well as 1C, which is a domestic solution. It's an accounting system. 1C is a little bit different. It's a four-on-two for forecasting. The 1C accounting system is widely used in Ukraine and Russia. If you compare Business One to, for example, S/4HANA, the price is much, much better. And the consultants are not so specialized if you compare it with S/4HANA, for example.
So in the case of S/4HANA, you should have a team of maybe at least five or six consultants dedicated to particular modules. In the case of Business One, you only need one or two — perhaps one is enough. It has competence in the whole chain, starting from procurement, production, and sales.
The functionality is much lighter than the big SAP, so you can have just one brain covering the whole process. It's easier to build and implement something as well as to improve it and communicate with different functions.
What other advice do I have?
I rate SAP Business One eight out of 10. If you are considering implementing this solution, I recommend you start with the master data. Pay as much attention as possible to the master data and establish a dedicated function.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Holds data and traceable information
Pros and Cons
- "So there are a lot of features included with the ERP system."
- "Accounting is a good feature, hence why we use SAP Business One."
- "SAP could improve the performance of the business alignment with other products."
- "Overall, the ERP solutions are stable, but it is more complicated and is not always stable for some customers."
What is our primary use case?
We use SAP Business One as a back-office role for information on products. We use SAP APIs to connect directly to our financial systems and in the cloud and for customers. It supports SMEs. We have between 10 or 20 clients using ERP.ERP is used for food resource management and vehicle car sales business. The ERP system allows control, tracking, and reporting via analysis reports. It is also useful for sales reports and historical reporting, in addition to current productivity reporting.
How has it helped my organization?
SAP holds more data and traceable information. Information on any issues is saved, and SAP can recreate errors on the NCP portal. Solutions to issues are also available. You can find SAP features on Android with Samsung phones.
What is most valuable?
Accounting is a good feature, hence why we use SAP Business One. We use a single application to handle and control our resources. We also leave it overnight to process our purchasing tasks. All this is held in one secure database. The system provides information on products sent out to the customer. The system holds data and AI voice data. It also includes accounting control. So there are a lot of features included with the ERP system. We support SAP as we have a lot of experience within the team.
What needs improvement?
SAP could improve the performance of the business alignment with other products.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have 10 years of experience with SAP Business One.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Overall, the ERP solutions are stable, but it is more complicated and is not always stable for some customers. It helps to understand the product so you can manage it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
SAP is scalable, as the versions of HANA are constantly being updated. They are currently up to version 6.
How are customer service and technical support?
Technical support is very good.
How was the initial setup?
Setup is okay generally, but not so easy with integrated products such as Microsoft 365.
What about the implementation team?
Implementation is often complicated on the manufacturing side, as it requires integrations with .net. It usually involves using highly skilled SAP consultancy. It is often difficult for the implementer to integrate add-ons and customization, which deviate from a standard installation. I often work with the implementor, and this helps my learning curve. It isn't easy to learn at the beginning. Sometimes, while the implementation occurs, people use Excel and other control documents as a workaround until the system is ready.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We compared the Microsoft solution with Oracle NetSuite, as they have a price decrease. It is, however, not that much cheaper, and the price is comparable to SAP.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We have considered using an add-on to the pack using Oracle NetSuite. They don't have a simple method of using the console or for the implementer to create an add-on. They said it was difficult to communicate on the cloud. There were also some defects when they tried to control everything on their contact form. So it didn't work very well.
What other advice do I have?
It is simple for users to use, but we can design and understand how to customize the menus for technical staff. It takes a lot of experience to technically understand the environment, especially when you need to integrate other systems such as the HANA database. We need to have more Linux and freedom experience, but not as much as with Microsoft SQL Server. You also need network knowledge, which is something you can compare the HANA database to.
I would rate SAP at about 8 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

A comprehensive solution for business process optimization with flexibility
What is our primary use case?
I'm an implementation partner. I implement SAP Business One for many people. I’ve implemented around 200+ implementations to many companies across the globe for various use cases, including manufacturing, central, and distribution production services.
What is most valuable?
The solution is easy to use, consume, flexible, and adaptable to business processes. It simplifies business process optimization and enables companies to tailor the solution to their needs. Additionally, the consistency and scalability provided by SAP HANA have helped customers achieve successful use cases. In short, It is simple, scalable, and consistent in terms of usage.
What needs improvement?
Business One is simple to install, but with HANA, it becomes a resource-hungry system, requiring much maintenance. For small customers, this can be a showstopper. Medium-sized companies can afford the maintenance, but small businesses may struggle. Maintaining HANA for user licenses and scalability can be challenging, especially for consolidation and intercompany processes.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using SAP Business One on AWS for 17 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The product is stable.
I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable, but it requires a few functionalities and scalability points.
100 people are using this solution.
I rate the solution’s scalability a seven out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
We use customer support every day. They let us know what to do and what not to do. The training is consistent.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy. Once HANA came into the picture, It became more manageable for scaling with security and scalability.
Deployment is pretty straightforward when it comes to SAP implementations. We follow a five-step method to understand the configuration requirements of the customers and the business process, and then we make a document called the Business Blueprint. The outcome is used to configure the system, which is a configuration development phase. We ensure we configure, develop, and deploy whatever this customer requires. When we get a sign-up from the customer, we move to training and data migration. When we launch this for users, and we support the users from that point of time till the time, the adaptability is very high.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution has a pay-per-license model.
What other advice do I have?
SAP Business One can also be deployed in the cloud. We host it in a data center. The technical infrastructure is based on .NET and Azure technologies. It is an open platform for customization and integration.
We do standard implementations. We are satisfied with SAP Business One. Our system is fine, and we can do many things in the front end.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
