In GP, there are certain features like financial reporting that aren't part of the core GP package. Users might need to install additional components for these features. For example, there's a reseller product called Management Reporter, but many users would prefer to have the reporting capabilities integrated within GP itself, rather than relying on external tools.

The manufacturing module in GP is quite basic, and those who require more advanced manufacturing capabilities often turn to third-party modules or tools. Additionally, you might be aware that in 2028, GP is expected to reach its end of life. Microsoft has already ceased selling GP to new customers. It's essentially the same product, but this marks the final year for GP's availability.

Microsoft Dynamics AX should include more connectors for third-party integrations. It should also include more features that AI models can govern. Challenges in data migration for Microsoft Dynamics AX may arise from receiving data that is not entirely clean or encountering difficulties in uploading large volumes of data. However, the DMS framework allows predefined templates for uploading customer master data and transactions.

Microsoft Dynamics AX usage depends on your volume; for example, volume audio transcription volume and hardware capacity should be equivalent or higher. Otherwise, it will be underestimated, bringing down the performance. And then you nor we will want to change the hardware, and it's difficult at that moment. So, we need to check our volume because some companies have 50,000 products altogether, and some have only 100-200 products. Depending on that, you have to choose your hardware. Microsoft provides the minimum hardware requirement, but that is not for our convenience. You should select hardware depending on the volume.

Microsoft could provide more flexible hardware requirements that can scale with the volume of data being processed rather than providing only a minimum requirement.

The only thing that is kind of annoying for every time I put my time in, before I send it off, I have always to save it first. I cannot immediately send it off. It's the only thing that needs improvement. For instance, if I'm booking my time in IMEI and AX and I have my tap open, and I want to send it and it's submitted, it asks to save first. I always get an error message here.

In addition, I sometimes put in wrong data that needs correction, but I cannot change it or approve it without withdrawing it. It will then take time for me to go back in and edit it.

As for the improvement, we experienced some challenges with the mobile apps due to the insufficient processing capacity to handle the workload effectively. We were unable to assign a manager to ensure a flow of information through mobile operations. There were also a few issues related to dashboards and report management, but mostly, it took a lot of time. They should work on features related to mobile apps, which would allow managers to have access to Dynamics AX-related approvals such as sales orders. That would make things much easier.

From a consultant's point of view, I recommend an enhancement in terms of detailed documentation for the products on the website. We already have tutorials, but they are very generic and brief. It becomes difficult to understand as no case studies are associated with the process or modules.

Many users are not aware of upcoming releases, feature changes, or modifications. Implementing a targeted notification system, where consultants receive updates based on specialization, would be beneficial. It would help everyone stay informed, fostering their ability to offer enhanced solutions to clients by remaining up-to-date with the development.

The product takes some training to get up to speed on all functionality and modules in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 ERP system. Some users complain that the interface is not very user-friendly. An improved interface with a user-friendly approach will be an improvement on the application.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 ERP systems development and customizations can be quite expensive to implement. You will need to run some trials to ensure the application is the right solution for your organization's needs and budget. The cost of customization can be reduced by introducing DIY measures

Its mobile app only works for Windows phones and does not offer all of its features. Some users experience difficulty connecting to some modules, functionality and tools while using the mobile app for Microsoft Dynamics AX. An improvement would be to create mobile versions for Androids and iOS devices.

The product needs better admin control, and there is room for improvement in flexibility, reporting, and dashboards. Artificial intelligence should be incorporated. I also have concerns regarding partners, specifically in the implementation and deployment of Microsoft Dynamics. The partner we engaged with within Egypt lacked awareness of many features during the configuration and implementation.

It was strange to find the partner unaware of the function and service that Microsoft granted him to develop and deploy for their customers. This was a big issue. Microsoft needs to establish specific criteria for selecting representatives. It's not just about sending representatives but also about how you add value to the customer. I'm seeking not only to proceed with the Microsoft Dynamics Series but also to engage with a representative who can address and represent my business needs.

Microsoft Dynamics AX could be improved by having more features available. We are going to 365 now, to use all the modules, because we found that there weren't many new things we were able to develop with AX. There were a lot of things that weren't available, so we are moving and integrating other things.

The customization of upgrades should also be faster. We would also like to see more security features.

The biggest improvement needed with the solution is security control or rights control to internal users. There is much improvement needed in that product line. Gradual level controls were missing, or if we are allowed some controls, then it will automatically go to different ones. We cannot give proper controls or user rights to internal user sections.

There is also slowness in database backup.

There are some critical issues that we couldn't fix or that we couldn't workaround to solve, but it's almost non-existent.

At times there are issues related to reporting, sometimes with the integration between two or three modules, and sometimes to the logic itself. We are in Egypt, and in some cases, such as but not limited to HR, we have a unique profile.

The problem, however, is not with the installation, but with the application itself. When it comes to business intelligence, I don't think it's a good business intelligence application. Give me a viewer and some Excel-based tools to create my report, but it's not a full business intelligence solution.

In the next release, I would like to see better reporting and better integration between modules.

The solution could be simplified and streamlined a bit.

There should be more clarity and better functionality in the master planning features.

It's not easy to set up.

It would be ideal if the product was priced at a bit less.

The solution in general just needs a few quality improvements.

I'm finding that often on-premises versions are getting left behind and new features more often are getting prioritized for the cloud. It's my understanding that they are doing this to push clients over to the cloud.

This is considered by Microsoft as an older product and unsupported. Microsoft is urging its clients to move to Dynamics 365, which is going to be coming into the pipeline. While it's a great product, we know that there is no support anymore for it.

The most important thing is to have compatibility with the business types. Microsoft is very rich and therefore it's possible for them to ensure it can apply to various areas.

Microsoft needs more presence in our region to help with management and maintenance.

Flexibility with how it is used. For example, if you have a specific way of working, Dynamics AX may or may not accommodate that. Although it provides a whole solution you may have to adapt your working methods to suit the product, and not how you would like to work. Sometimes the data forms provided for specific retail applications are not adequate and do not provide enough functions as the product itself is not designed for the retail industry it is mainly designed for automotive companies and distribution companies although Microsoft tried to add a retail element into the system. The product is standardised across industries so it is not a good fit for all types of sectors.

If I had to add something in the next release, it would probably be a mobile application for a sister application of Dynamics 365; not the ERP but the Dynamics 365 HR solution. It would definitely help if we could have Microsoft or a Microsoft partner introduce a mobile application for it.

The product is no longer going to be supported by Microsoft next year. For that reason, I do not think that they will improve anything. Putting that fact aside, I think that the whole IP module can be improved. They need to improve logging, tracking, and tracing service tickets, as well as reporting towards the customer. They need to create a customer portal where the customers can view and create their own tickets. That would be a lot of work to do for a product that Microsoft will no longer be supporting.

I would suggest that Microsoft use a real top-class ITSM (IT Service Management) with the replacement product (Business Central) and then integrate that with Microsoft Dynamics rather than developing it themselves. Integrating a dedicated product will be better.

I would like to see improvements in manufacturing. We had a meeting with the person in charge of manufacturing last year in which I took six pages of notes regarding MRP/materials requirements planning. The implication was that the system can handle what we needed it do, but the person is charge of manufacturing is quite busy. I did not hear back after sending the notes, and I never helped implement it.

I do not think we have implemented it, and I think we still do it outside the system.
Some of the companies owned by the same parent company cannot implement this solution due to constraints on manufacturing.

It was a busy day when I toured the facility, and I had little time to discuss this solution. I just gathered that they could not make it fit for them.
