We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"One of the best features of Skype for Business is that you can set it up on mobile phones, and you can set it up on laptops. You can connect to the tool from anywhere.""Desktop sharing is a valuable feature.""I rate the solution's stability a nine on a scale where one is not stable and ten is very stable...I rate the solution's initial setup a nine on a scale where one is difficult, and ten is easy.""The security seems good.""Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten...Stability-wise, I rate the solution a ten out of ten.""The most valuable feature is how useful it has been for virtual meetings during the pandemic.""Scalable communication tool that's easy to install. Even old people are using it, because of its ease of use.""I have found Skype for Business to be stable."

"TeamViewer is fast and easy to manipulate.""I don't know of any performance problems with TeamViewer - generally, it's a stable product.""The most valuable feature of TeamViewer is the remote access connection. Additionally, it is easy to use.""The pilot feature is what stands out the most. I love the ability to use the pilot feature for remote inspections. The augmented portion of the software comes in handy when I have to assist my inspectors. They use the app in the field, and they show me what they're seeing through their phones.""It's a user-friendly product.""The most valuable feature of TeamViewer is its ease of use.""TeamViewer allows us to do multiple controllers on a Host, which is great. We have a lot of Macs in our organization, and TeamViewer being cross-platform is a good thing.""TeamViewer is stable."

"Webex offers a wide range of useful features.""Its features are easy to navigate and easy to share, and easy to conduct a meeting.""Seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook.""Stable and scalable solution for video conferencing, virtual meetings, and collaboration, with top-notch technical support.""The most valuable option is screen sharing.""The solution has been very stable.""I like how Webex lets you zoom in and out on the presenter's screen. It's silly, but all the solutions have the same features, and I think WebEx is the only one that allows zoom.""Easy to use virtual meeting solution. Installation was straightforward without the need for a technical team."

Cons
"The group feature of Skype for Business needs improvement. It should also be improved for online lectures.""The integration with Outlook could be improved.""The technical support from Microsoft needs to be improved.""Skype for Business could improve by having a document channel or repository. Microsoft Teams has a better repository place for documents that you can share with your team. You can access it anywhere from any device.""The stability could be improved.""Going forward, I would like to see better call quality and reliability.""We overcame the audio quality issues by asking users to use the 'Call Me' feature with their desk phone.""There are not many options, in terms of some other third-party integration."

"If they could figure out a little better solution for the iOS stuff other than just a screen share, even though it's an Apple thing, and Apple doesn't like to give up control of their devices. If they ever got to that point, and I could manipulate an iPad or iPhone, that would be awesome. Since we have a bunch of iPad users who are struggling with doing different things, it would be nice to be able to just jump on and actually show them, "Here, do this, this, and this." Similar to what we do with the laptops, e.g. for training.""Every now and then you'll get a silent crash and you relaunch the application. But it happens no more than with anything else in the Windows environment.""TeamViewer can improve connectivity. I had some problems connecting to my clients and now I use AnyDesk.""Some of the additional features, like the meeting stuff, is making it too cluttered.""I would like to see something like a TeamViewer mobile application for iOS or possibly Android. I think this would be fantastic given how technology is evolving today. It would be beneficial to use it with your smartphone.""I didn't like the fact that you had to install a client for remote support. If you didn't install the client, you were very limited in terms of what you could do. For a whole enterprise, it is just not an easy task to install a client on everything. Even if you're using SCCM, it is an undertaking. For transient clients that you don't necessarily support a hundred percent of the time, it would be nice to be able to connect to them and support their issues without having to install something on their machines. In my previous company, we were looking at this solution as being a collaborative tool for the enterprise in terms of video conferencing, calling, and scheduling. They were working on bringing a bunch of products together to make their suite a little more integrated, but it really wasn't at the point where we wanted it to be in terms of integration. We looked at it, reviewed it, and tested it out a bit. We then decided to go with Microsoft Teams. It has the clunkiness of having separate modules that aren't totally integrated. There are different methods for doing different things, which makes it a little bit more complicated. There should be the same way whether you are doing remote support or just calls.""They should release features such as Augmented Reality into both plain and standard versions of TeamViewer.""The security could improve in TeamViewer."

More TeamViewer Cons →

"Sometimes we've had issues with the connection.""Webex's translation feature could work more accurately.""The performance is not always good and could be improved.""I'd like to see a modernized user interface, something a bit more colorful.""Webex could be improved by having a password-protected system. I don't remember there being any passwords for the meetings, but, presently, Zoom has meeting protection.""Greater visibility beyond infrastructure metrics would be beneficial. We could leverage insights into business performance indicators as well. I believe that incorporating more predictive capabilities into Webex for the next version would be beneficial.""The solution can improve by adding a smaller version for small business usage or for personal use. The solution is geared towards larger companies and enterprises.""I would like to see more integration, with respect to some more unified communication activities."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We have been able to save money by moving our conferencing solution to Skype for Business Conferencing."
  • "We negotiated a fair price with Microsoft. It is definitely worthwhile to negotiate with them for the best price for your solution."
  • "The pricing is really good. It is quite affordable because it came with our Office 365. It is on a per-user license, which is nice. I quite like that they have made it very granular with all of their licensing."
  • "It may be considered costly for certain markets, such as in India."
  • "It may be slightly costly, but the features are awesome."
  • "To realize value from the purchase of Skype Business, you need to take advantage of all the important functions of the program."
  • "The cost of Skype for Business is incorporated into our Office 365 licenses."
  • "We purchased an open license."

  • "TeamViewer pricing is reasonable... The simultaneous controller licensing model of TeamViewer - compared to LogMeIn’s controlled Host licensing model - seems to benefit us so far. We’re currently saving about 30 percent on licensing cost... The savings from licensing have been eaten up by the soft costs involved in dealing with and working around TeamViewer’s deficiencies in allowing granular control by multiple controllers, and the issues with the various settings that are missing on the macOS Host."
  • "The cost of the licenses depends on how you buy them. They just had a buy one get one free deal going, and they do that every once in a while. Where you buy one license, and they will give you the second one free, or you can try to get discounts. Most of our licenses that we have we tried to do something like that just to save some money."
  • "It has probably saved us several thousands of dollars because we have quick access anywhere. We don't have to worry about finding people onsite or arranging conference calls. We also save time and money with it because we don't have to send somebody onsite to troubleshoot."
  • "TeamViewer offers a free version to try. Download and give it a shot. See what it's like and if you like it, then buy the license for it."
  • "...it will cost you $1,500 to $1,600 a year, but when I think of how much work I do through TeamViewer..."
  • "It does what I need it to do but I think it's expensive. It wasn't easy for me to get approval from the company to get it... It's costing us about $700 a year, per license."
  • "TeamViewer is $600 or $700 per port per year..."
  • "The cost is in the thousands of dollars per year."

  • "I have recently switched to a different solution. WebEx is more costly. There are equivalent solutions at a lower cost."
  • "The price of the license depends a lot on the type of service required and whether it is for the entire company or only for a few users."
  • "Licensing is subscription-based and the cost varies depending on how many minutes are included in the plan."
  • "The pricing of this solution is fine and I am satisfied with it."
  • "Price is the one area where Webex needs to improve relative to its competitors. It's difficult to sell to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) because of the license price."
  • "I believe the license to be monthly."
  • "There are no licensing fees."
  • "The price of the license for the solution could be less expensive."
