Supports incident investigations through behavior monitoring and provides scoring to determine threat levels
Pros and Cons
  • "Robust inspection technologies have proven valuable in safeguarding shared files in collaborative environments by analyzing patterns and identifying potential threats."
  • "Sometimes junior staff members would ask scripted questions without having enough knowledge to address the core issue immediately."

What is our primary use case?

We were previously customers of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. We currently are not using it but are looking to bring them back in the future if an opportunity arises.

The main use cases with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration involved monitoring user behavior in the Microsoft environment, including login patterns and correspondence. The primary scenario where it was leveraged extensively was during investigations. It has proven particularly valuable whenever incidents or potential incidents have occurred.

What is most valuable?

The best features of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration involve understanding user behavior and monitoring interactions. It allows applications to send, receive, and process emails, which is particularly useful from an investigative standpoint.

The threat prevention in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration provides scoring and rating that helps determine threat levels. Based on configured thresholds, it can automatically block or discard threats as needed.

The automated incident response feature is generally helpful for investigative purposes, though we prefer human intervention for thorough analysis. There are situations where a human analyst needs to evaluate the circumstances, understand the data, and determine whether it is relevant and useful. For instance, they need to assess if it could be an indicator of compromise. In the setups I’ve been involved with, there has always been a blend of automation and human analysis to ensure effective outcomes.

Robust inspection technologies have proven valuable in safeguarding shared files in collaborative environments by analyzing patterns and identifying potential threats.

What needs improvement?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration can continue to improve by curating intelligence from other sources if it doesn't have enough in-house. It needs to be powered with strong threat research and threat intel capabilities. When there are limitations in-house, it should allow collaboration with other entities, whether commercial entities, open-source resources, or researchers in that space. This collaborative setup enriches the threat intel and data, which in turn helps the product determine whether something is a true positive versus a false positive.

For how long have I used the solution?

I worked with this solution for a couple of years.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's support a seven out of ten. The package offered 24/7 coverage, and they would generally respond with acknowledgment when contacted. Sometimes junior staff members would ask scripted questions without having enough knowledge to address the core issue immediately. In some cases, issues needed escalation to the customer support manager to find a resource that could resolve the problem quickly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was moderate in difficulty. While there were some minor hiccups and it took time to understand, it was ultimately more simple than difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The comparable solutions to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration are Proofpoint and Mimecast. The main difference is that Check Point traditionally has been a firewall software company, recognized as the first vendor for inspection and firewall concepts. Proofpoint, on the other hand, started as an email filtering and security solution. Proofpoint has maintained its focus on email security, making significant investments in this area. While Check Point has broadened its portfolio to include cloud security and other areas, this expansion can sometimes pose challenges as it may limit the time available for improving individual products.

What other advice do I have?

I haven't encountered many integrations. The only one I have seen is with the ticketing system. It works with certain common ticketing platforms. Those are the only integrations I have utilized.

I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration an eight out of ten.

AI-driven protection has reduced phishing incidents and prevented advanced threats across collaboration tools
Pros and Cons
    • "Expanding third-party integration would be beneficial. When I integrate with Microsoft 365, support for other platforms like Slack or Dropbox is limited."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is protecting cloud-based email and collaboration platforms, primarily Microsoft 365, from malware, phishing, and account takeover attempts.

I can provide a specific example of how I've used Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration to protect Microsoft 365 from phishing threats. The sales teams received a phishing email impersonating our boss in the sales department, asking them to approve different transfers. The message looked convincing, using internal branding and a spoofed domain that closely resembled our own, but Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration tagged the message immediately using AI-based intent analysis and domain spoofing detection, quarantining the email before it reached the user's inbox and sending an alarm to the support team.

In another situation, we had a case where a user shared a OneDrive link externally that unknowingly contained a file infected with a macro-based Trojan. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration scanned the shared link and blocked the download in real time.

    What is most valuable?

The best features Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers are AI-driven phishing protection, seamless API-based deployment, and coverage across both mail and collaboration platforms.

The AI phishing protection feature in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration works quickly and effectively in the background, analyzing incoming messages daily using natural language processing and behavioral intent modeling. This means it does not just look at sender reputation or unknown URLs.

One of the most valuable aspects of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is its broad coverage across both email and collaboration platforms, which sets it apart from traditional email-only security solutions. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has positively impacted my organization by resulting in fewer phishing incidents. Since deploying Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we have seen a 40% drop in phishing-related alerts and user reports. The AI-driven detection catches threats before they reach inboxes, leading to fewer risky clicks and less time spent investigating false alarms.

    What needs improvement?

Check Point could be improved by enhancing its reporting flexibility, streamlining policy customization, and expanding integration options with third-party platforms. These changes will make it even more adaptable for diverse enterprise needs.

Expanding third-party integration would be beneficial. When I integrate with Microsoft 365, support for other platforms like Slack or Dropbox is limited. Broader coverage would help organizations with mixed collaboration stacks.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for around three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has proven to be very stable based on my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support is very great based on my last experience when I used the technical support or tickets.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

    How was the initial setup?

In the first deployment, my experience was challenging, but now it is great with no problems.

    What was our ROI?

I think about the time saved as a return on investment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is great.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for others looking into using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is that one of its biggest strengths is its agentless API-based integration. You do not need to re-route mail traffic or install hardware. You just connect it to your cloud tenant and configure policies, making it fast, lightweight, and not disruptive for users. I would rate this product an 8 overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    Hybrid Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

    Microsoft Azure

Email security effectively detects a wide range of threats and improves productivity
    Pros and Cons
    • "The incorporated AI capabilities are particularly notable, functioning as AI versus AI, and it has protected us from various threats with a nice dashboard that shows if anything is missed by MS 365."
    • "While the analytics are commendable, they don't provide deep dive insights. They show the overall counts of malware, phishing, and business compromise emails, but there isn't a robust ability to dive deeper into those categories to see specifics."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is to address email threats. It has been effective for our organization by stopping many different kinds of threats, including phishing attacks and ransomware attacks. I am impressed by its AI capabilities because different AI capabilities are incorporated in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. It has been very effective for us, especially when an attacker tries to use AI in their email attack. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has been effective in stopping those kinds of alerts and giving us insights about what is happening in an email alert. The AI features in email security within Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration have been particularly effective for us.

    What is most valuable?

Regarding specific incidents where Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's AI features stopped threats, we receive notifications whenever there is a new alert through email to the admin. Whenever there is an alert, we go to the dashboard to check what kind of alerts it has and proceed with the investigation. The system has a very nice dashboard with a clear layout when investigating incidents, showing email profiles and attack types. In the relationship section, it shows different AI indicators that confirm why a threat was stopped and what AI features are at play, indicating AI threats evident in the email. This helps us during investigations as it is easy to see different indicators and decide whether a threat requires quarantine or whether it's a true positive or false positive.

The first standout feature is that it's an API-based email security solution. It took us hardly half a day to get it deployed and set up, compared to other email securities such as Barracuda Email Security which takes days to fully deploy due to inbound and outbound connector setup requirements. Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was protecting our incoming, outgoing, and internal emails within half a day of deployment. Another impressive feature is that it offers API-based inline protection, unlike Trend Micro Email Security which wasn't inline, meaning emails would first go to the inbox before being removed if threats were found.

The incorporated AI capabilities are particularly notable, functioning as AI versus AI. It has protected us from various threats and has a nice dashboard that shows if anything is missed by MS 365. For instance, last week we received an email flagged as safe by Microsoft, but Check Point flagged it. Upon investigation, we found it had a malicious attachment, and Check Point provided a full report highlighting the malicious indicators.

The positive impact includes a clear reduction in threats and improved detection capabilities. The dashboard is impressive, neat, and clean, showing all information about threats on the initial landing page. The analytics are very good, particularly the ability to identify real source IPs, which was a distinguishing factor from Trend Micro.

The URL emulation and real-time on-click protection are impressive features. When we receive a malicious document, it can sanitize the document by removing malicious elements while maintaining benign content. The user-to-admin interaction feature for managing quarantined emails is also noteworthy. We utilize analytics to generate reports, helping us pinpoint types of threats and their origin, which has been instrumental in implementing targeted training programs.

    What needs improvement?

Since we have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for a year, we haven't encountered significant challenges. However, it would be beneficial if it could support other email security services beyond Microsoft and Google. Integration with other platforms would enhance its appeal since the features are commendable.

While the analytics are commendable, they don't provide deep dive insights. They show the overall counts of malware, phishing, and business compromise emails, but there isn't a robust ability to dive deeper into those categories to see specifics. Analytics should allow us to explore which users received malware emails the most or trends among departments. Currently, we have to sift through manually, which is not ideal. A more profound analytical capability would elevate the tool to become the complete email security solution for any user.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for almost a year.

How are customer service and support?

We have used their support and rate it highly. We opted for the 24/7 premium support, which is very responsive and quick whenever we have configuration challenges or other inquiries.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Barracuda and decided to switch to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration because Barracuda was unable to detect a range of threats that we can now identify thanks to Check Point's capabilities. The switch was primarily due to Check Point's API-based email security, which stood out during our evaluation.

    How was the initial setup?

Deployment of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was genuinely impressive and easy. You just needed the Microsoft admin credentials to set it up. After providing those credentials, you receive the options for automatic or manual deployment. When we chose automatic deployment, everything was successfully set up in about 10 to 15 minutes, followed by the application of default policies. Deployment was actually really straightforward for us.

After deployment, the configuration process was not challenging at all. We did not encounter any issues. The primary thing we had to do was change the default policy from detection mode to prevention mode after a few days. Initially, it only detected issues, but per guidance from Check Point and based on best practice documents, we switched to prevention mode. Moving to that mode was easy, and we quickly began seeing emails being quarantined and prevented, making the process quite smooth.

    What about the implementation team?

We have not faced any challenges integrating it with syslog and other services. The integration experience has been very good and seamless.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a clear return on investment. The time saved during investigations is significant due to the neat dashboard that organizes everything related to alerts. It doesn't require many people to investigate alerts effectively.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, setup cost, and licensing, I found it competitive. Check Point provided discounts, making the pricing reasonable with respect to the features they offer. The pricing is very justifiable, neither exceptionally high nor exceedingly low.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we evaluated Trend Micro email security, but faced several challenges, such as an inability to support email banners and provide real source IP addresses, which we found lacking. Ultimately, we found that Check Point offered far better features, is stable and scalable.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others considering Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is straightforward. If you're looking for email security that is easy to deploy without disrupting your production environment, this is a great choice. With traditional gateway-based email security, you often have to deal with changing MX records and setting up various connectors, which can be a cumbersome process for administrators. This isn't an issue with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. In just about 10 minutes, one can set it up and get going with the required administrative credentials. Besides ease of deployment, it also offers a range of features that enable detection of malware, phishing attacks, business compromise emails, and other email threats effectively. It has been a very capable solution, and I haven't faced any challenges concerning threats after nearly a year of usage. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a nine because it satisfies all our requirements. The tool has effectively triggered various threats, which has increased our productivity in areas such as investigation, threat detection, and analytics. The user interaction has also improved, yielding benefits that contribute to a very valuable package for us.

Email protection has cut phishing and spam, and security teams gain time for other issues
    Pros and Cons
    • "After we organized it with the consulting company and set the first rules, after one week the system seemed to have learned the company's pattern, and we managed to achieve a reduction of almost eighty to ninety percent on spam and false emails, which was very good at the time."

What is our primary use case?

At the moment, most solutions I have been working on are cloud-based, so I do not know if it will be in any of the solutions being reviewed.

Based on what I usually used Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for, it is an edge boarding solution to prevent spam, viruses, and other kinds of intrusions from gaining access from the internet to services that are published on the internet. It also protects internal networks, ensuring only the services that are supposed to be talking to each other do so, and provides VPN access for people who are working remotely. On the Harmony side, it was mainly email filters. After we organized it with the consulting company and set the first rules, after one week the system seemed to have learned the company's pattern. So at that time, we managed to achieve a reduction of almost eighty to ninety percent on spam and false emails, which was very good at the time. Later on, once Harmony also integrated with OneDrive, we were also able to stop viruses and files from getting infected inside the OneDrive services as well.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has had a significant impact on phishing attack mitigation. It reduced phishing attacks quite a bit. One of the other preventative measures we implemented was teaching people how to detect those kinds of emails, and we were able to reduce phishing incidents quite a bit because the system was detecting most of the phishing emails that we were receiving. However, we still needed to ensure that on both sides, both the system and the user were able to detect those kinds of emails so they do not fall into traps.

      What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration include the artificial intelligence, which even before artificial intelligence was popular, was very good because once we programmed the first rules, it learned automatically the patterns of trusted and untrusted emails. It was much easier to manage false positives and spam and those kinds of emails. As I mentioned before, it reduced eighty percent of spam and false emails. Overall, for applying whitelists and rules on it, it was pretty easy because it also integrated quite well with Microsoft's own security systems, especially in the case of Microsoft 365, so we would not have one system onboarding the other; they would work very well together.

I think artificial intelligence-powered threat intelligence in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration acts pretty well on the preventive side, which allows us to be more proactive in terms of what domains are trustworthy and which ones are not. We had another case where initially it was blocking a lot of emails from China, but once we were able to filter out which domains were trustworthy, the system learned that those emails were trustworthy and would not tag them as suspicious. I thought it was pretty proactive once certain users get new emails from new domains they have never received before, where the first email does not characterize as suspicious but is monitored to ensure we are aware that this user is now receiving emails from this domain. If the patterns or the attachments inside the email show us to be untrustworthy, then it characterizes it as a suspicious email or, in the worst-case scenario, as spam or phishing email.

Robust inspection technologies in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration have helped me safeguard shared files in my collaborative environment. They make us much more aware of the files that are coming in and out, and we have following rules to ensure that they meet the standards as well.

      What needs improvement?

I think Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration could improve or enhance integration with other systems. I know at the moment it works pretty well with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Perhaps in the future, there might be solutions as well that work with on-premise email solutions. Also, in Brazil, if I am not mistaken, at the moment, there are still only servers in the US and Europe, so it would be nice if Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration had services in Latin America as well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for the past five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was very stable and reliable for me.

I do not remember any outages or limitations with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I evaluate that Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was quite scalable. We started with one hundred users when we began using the solution. When I left the project, they were getting close to two hundred fifty users. It is quite scalable, but we just have to be aware of the licensing costs accordingly. Otherwise, as a cloud solution, we do not have to worry too much about resources other than paying for the necessary licensing.

How are customer service and support?

I mostly communicated with the consultants representing Check Point rather than with their technical support. I only communicated with them mostly about the firewall side, not Harmony, for most things. After everything was set up and in production, my communication was mainly for improvements and questions about new functionalities that were introduced later.

I did not have such serious issues that required me to reach out to technical support or customer support for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. The one time was when a user was looking for some emails that were not arriving. When we checked on Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we discovered the issue was on the Microsoft side, which was blocking the email. However, since Harmony integrates well with the security services of Microsoft, we can unblock those emails directly from Harmony.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we used to use the built-in tools that Exchange on-premise had.

We decided to switch from the previous solution to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration because we needed to improve the way we reacted to emails. Since the company relies heavily on emails for both internal and external communication, we needed to ensure we had a good and viable solution that allowed us to concentrate on other problems as well.

      How was the initial setup?

The initial setup process for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration was pretty easy to set up on the Microsoft side, both for the proof of concept and for the production environment.

      What about the implementation team?

I participated in the initial setup of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

Nothing offhand comes to mind regarding challenges or complexities during the setup process. We followed the instructions in the manual and from the consultants, and everything went smoothly.

      What was our ROI?

I have definitely seen a return on investment with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. On the administrative side, both my team and I used to spend much less time troubleshooting phishing, malware, and other email-related issues because of that solution. We gained much more time to address other issues beyond troubleshooting.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

So far, the pricing for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is good for what it does. There is always room for improvements, but I think it is a fair price.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Other than Check Point, I did not evaluate other options or vendors extensively. I played a little bit with Acronis, which has a similar solution, but I had only done tests with it. They are mainly a backup solution but have also expanded into other services. Comparing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration to Acronis, Acronis still has a couple of improvements to do, but Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration works pretty well on the detection of emails.

What other advice do I have?

I have not utilized the automated incident response feature.

I think we used Microsoft's own real-time URL reputation analysis. I do not remember if we ended up integrating Harmony or if it was part of the package or not, but I do not remember using it.

I was an administrator and I also helped integrate the solution.

I would rate this review as a nine out of ten overall.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

      Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Has prevented threats effectively and gives detailed visibility across connected devices
      Pros and Cons
        • "Sometimes they do not provide immediate assistance, and it can take time for them to respond."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration involves using a Check Point 1800 Quantum Spark, which is not available in the options. I have used this Check Point as a firewall that is attached to my on-premises office, saving all my functions from malware attacks and various threat attacks.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has saved me from many threats and malware, and since I attached this Check Point in my office premises, I haven't faced any glitches or issues.

I do not have anything else to add about my main use case or any other ways it has helped my organization.

        What is most valuable?

In my experience, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers great features, including a comprehensive dashboard where I can see everything easily in the admin interface. The dashboard shows details about mobile devices, phone devices, smart watches, each in different categories, which allows for easy identification. I have used different firewalls before that don't have options such as this, and Check Point includes this very good function.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has positively impacted my organization significantly. Earlier, when I used a different kind of firewall without multi-layer functions, my users faced issues often. However, since Check Point came into my office premises, it helps me substantially by detecting malware threats and ransomware threats, stopping them at the firewall itself before they reach the end user.

I have noticed many positive changes since using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. Previously, we received many support calls from users regarding malware threats and issues indicated by exclamation symbols. Now, whenever any user attempts to access unwanted sites, the firewall automatically blocks access and provides a pop-up to me as the admin, allowing me to log into the admin console immediately and block the device.

        What needs improvement?

I do not feel there is anything to improve in Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. What is currently available is sufficient and very good.

As of now, I do not have anything to add regarding needed improvements as everything is functioning properly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for the past 1.8 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is very stable, and I have not experienced any downtime or reliability issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration's scalability is excellent. It is already growing with my organization, and the support provided by Check Point Harmony meets my expectations and even exceeds them.

How are customer service and support?

For customer support, I would give a rating of nine out of ten.

I rate customer support nine out of ten because sometimes they do not provide immediate assistance, and it can take time for them to respond. That is the only problem; everything else is satisfactory.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Sophos 122 H, which is a much lower version.

I decided to switch from Sophos 122 H to Check Point Harmony because it offers a much better user login experience.

        How was the initial setup?

I would rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a nine out of ten.

I choose to give it nine out of ten because sometimes support has issues; they take some time when I raise a ticket. If they provided immediate support, I could give a ten out of ten.

        What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, as it has saved a lot of money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, setup costs, and licensing, I find that the functionality they provide for what we paid is worthy.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, I did not evaluate any other options; I chose only this one option.

What other advice do I have?

I offer one suggestion to all users considering Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration: before purchasing any product from Check Point, please consult with Check Point support and account managers, and take a demo for two to three times.

In terms of business relationships, I am not with Check Point as a partner or reseller; I am just a customer.

On a scale of one to ten, I rate Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration a nine.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

        On-premises

Email protection has stopped sophisticated phishing and now keeps our team focused on priorities

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is email security, specifically for phishing and malicious emails.

A quick specific example of how I use it for email security is that it has done an excellent job at stopping malicious emails and phishing emails; it has helped us stop some sophisticated attacks.

A specific incident where Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration helped us prevent a sophisticated attack involved being targeted by a Russian ransomware gang that compromised a partner's email; they were sending emails to our staff, and not only did Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration stop it, it gave us visibility into the attack and let us know we were under attack.

        What is most valuable?

The best features Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers include stopping phishing attacks, keeping marketing emails and junk emails, as well as malicious emails out of our users' inboxes, which frees up time for our security team to focus on other issues.

When I mention that Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration frees up time for our security team, it has significantly changed our workflow because we don't worry about phishing or malicious emails; previously, we would spend several hours a day or multiple hours a week dealing with phishing emails.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has positively impacted our organization by keeping us safe, out of the news, and preventing us from having to be reactive to malicious phishing emails, allowing us to be proactive with the product instead.

Since using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, we have seen an amazing reduction in malicious emails; it is rare that we get a true phishing email that gets through, and very few do.

        What needs improvement?

I think Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is excellent for what it does; it keeps us safe, and we don't worry about phishing and malicious emails, so I'm not quite sure what they could do better, honestly.

I chose nine because I'm not quite sure anything is a ten; I don't really know how to answer that, but the ten leaves room for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration for about eight to nine years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration definitely scales; our organization has around 40,000 to 35,000 mailboxes.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has been excellent; they have been very proactive in adding new features and helping with any issues.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We previously used Microsoft G3, but it missed way too many phishing emails and malicious emails, so we had to add another layer to block what Microsoft was missing.

        How was the initial setup?

The advice I would give to others looking into using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is that they need to look at it; the setup is super simple, and it works directly inline on O365; you can run it alongside any other platform you currently have, and it will tell you what you are missing, so I would say you absolutely must look at it.

        What was our ROI?

I have definitely seen a return on investment since using Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration because it does an amazing job at catching malicious emails without us having to do anything and without any input from our team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that it was smooth, easy, and affordable.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did evaluate other options before choosing Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, but I don't remember what they were since it was a long time ago.

What other advice do I have?

I would add that it has been very effective in our team not having to spend time chasing reported phishing attacks; we hardly see users report receiving malicious emails, and Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration does an amazing job at stopping the emails from reaching the users.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is deployed in our organization in the cloud; I would say it's in the public cloud, but I am not sure if it's public or private. We use a private cloud provider.

I would say that their built-in AI does a fantastic job at stopping new threats, which is another strong feature of Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration.

I gave this review a rating of nine.

Protects users from phishing and malicious links while improving team efficiency
        Pros and Cons
        • "The advanced phishing protection is proactive in catching threats before users even see them; it does not just block obvious spam, it can spot subtle impersonation attempts and suspicious links that appear legitimate at first glance."
        • "The only area for improvement is the language of the support. The support is only available in English."

What is our primary use case?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration protects against phishing and malicious attachments across email and cloud tools. I use the Gmail collaboration and ensure suspicious links or files are blocked before they reach users. It helps enforce consistent security policies, reduce the risk of account compromise, and provide quick visibility into attempted attacks.

One example of how I used Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration to block a threat was when a phishing email disguised as a Gmail login request was sent to several employees. The solution automatically flagged the suspicious email, quarantined the message, and prevented users from clicking the malicious links.

Another way Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has helped in similar situations is by consistently stopping targeted spear phishing attacks. In one case, attackers tried to impersonate a trusted vendor with a fake invoice, but the system flagged the unusual sender behavior and quarantined the emails before anyone could open them.

        What is most valuable?

The best features Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration offers are the advanced phishing protection and its seamless integration with collaboration tools.

The advanced phishing protection is proactive in catching threats before users even see them. It does not just block obvious spam; it can spot subtle impersonation attempts and suspicious links that appear legitimate at first glance. The seamless integration has made my workflow easier because the same protection applies across email and collaboration tools without extra configuration.

Another feature is the detailed reporting and analytics that come with Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration. They provide clear visibility into attempted attacks, user activity, and overall trends, which helps the team fine-tune policies and demonstrate the value of the solution to management.

It has impacted my organization positively by reducing the number of phishing attempts that reach our users and giving us greater confidence in every communication. It has improved efficiency because suspicious emails are automatically quarantined, saving the team time that used to be spent on manual investigation. I estimate the team saves at least three to five hours per week, thanks to the automatic quarantine and clear visibility features.

        What needs improvement?

The only area for improvement is the language of the support. The support is only available in English.

Secures internal and external emails while reducing manual quarantine management

What is our primary use case?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is used to secure all incoming emails and emails within the organization.

All PDF files and attachments are scanned while sending an email from one user to another within and outside of the organization.

It is also used to block users from receiving spam emails.

        What is most valuable?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration works seamlessly with cloud email providers such as Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace, and it also provides security to collaboration tools such as Teams, OneDrive, Google Drive, and Slack.

It is very easy to set up, requiring only about seven clicks and two to three days to receive all information from the mailboxes and provide details about partners, shadow IT, and other relevant information.

Regarding threat detection, it provides additional security to the already inbuilt security from Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.

It blocks security threats and malware that have been passed on by Microsoft Office 365 EOP and works inline with all cloud email providers.

The amount of resources required to conduct a deep dive into email security has been reduced because of its automation feature, which allows users to manually restore quarantine files at their own risk.

Previously, when using other email security providers, logging in daily was necessary to remove all quarantine emails.

Now, users are notified of quarantine emails and can be provided access to release them from quarantine.

        What needs improvement?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration can be improved because it currently only supports email in the cloud.

If you have an email server such as Exchange or Zimbra, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration will not support it.

Support for on-premises email servers would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration has been used for about a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There have been no issues with its scalability feature; everything is working fine.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support has been awesome, providing prompt responses to all emails.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously, a different solution was not used, but access to Barracuda was available.

With Barracuda, manually changing the logs was necessary, which was tedious.

Compared to Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration, it is much simpler, the dashboard is also simpler, and integration with all cloud email service providers is very simple.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

        Barracuda was being evaluated.

What other advice do I have?

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration came in competitively with its competition, making it a good deal.

Fewer employees are needed since there is no requirement to continually check email and quarantine email, and time is also significantly saved.

Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration is one of the best products to purchase if you do not want to compromise on security and want to save time.

This review has been rated with an 8 out of 10.
