Webex Room for Improvement
Account Manager at a tech services company with 11-50 employees
The price should be improved significantly. The software, licenses and hardware combine to make the solution extremely expensive.
The interconnectivity of all of the solution's facilities and functions can be more complex than that which is involved in basic configuration, when equipment, telephone extensions or other mobile apps are thrown into the mix.
They have a feature that is amazing but it's not implemented properly. It's called Profile Insight and it's similar to LinkedIn. Before you join a meeting, you can see the background of the person. But the problem is the implementation. There is so much missing information. This could be integrated with LinkedIn or something so it can produce more information about the person you're meeting with. Also, they've been announcing that they will add AI translation since 2019, but we're still not seeing that upgrade.View full review »
Consultant - Risk and compliance at a tech services company with 51-200 employees
The solution should come as a big client for the system. It should be able to be used just like chat software when necessary, similar to instant messaging.
Currently, the solution isn't really lacking in features.View full review »

Webex could be improved by having a password-protected system. I don't remember there being any passwords for the meetings, but, presently, Zoom has meeting protection.View full review »

The main issue is the performance in relation to the operating system. The base application uses a lot of resources. They could work on the performance of the application so that it's less heavy.

Better integration with other solutions would benefit Webex.View full review »
We had one problematic issue and that was with the recordings that were kept on the web. Initially they were auto archiving but then recordings were getting deleted after three months and we weren't aware of that change in their policy. I lost a lot of my recordings and I think they should have a longer retention period for the recordings.
A private chat option would be a good addition to the solution. If you're in the middle of a meeting and you want to have a private chat with someone, it can be a useful feature.View full review »

For what we use it for, I can't think of anything the solution is lacking.
The initial implementation was a bit difficult. If they could simplify that aspect of the solution, it would be helpful for future users.View full review »

It is difficult for me to put my finger exactly on what needs to be improved with the solution.
This said, I feel the greatest issue with the solution is its price. Small governments and modest-sized schools simply cannot afford it.View full review »

An opportunity they could benefit from would be a version that includes meeting transcription. I usually use a third-party product to do transcription.
In terms of Screen share, it would be helpful to have more control over what is being presented on the screen. They may have that functionality, but I've never used it. For example, being able to click back to look at previous slides, even though the presenter has gone forward, or having some type of pointer mechanism that helps to call out different areas of the screen when presenting.
They may already have a function for this that I am not aware of, but I would like to see more whiteboarding capabilities. I would think of this in terms of post-it notes or other things where you can facilitate some interactive engagement. There are products like Miro and CloudBoard, as well as a slew of others of a similar nature. I believe Microsoft Teams has something similar built-in. But, given how much time people spend in online meetings, I believe there should be ways to engage or create more engagement with the participants.View full review »

The licensing could be a bit simpler.
Senior Specialist, e-Transformation Services at a tech services company with 201-500 employees
It's a bit complex. There's more complexity involved than with, for example, Zoom. The extra features it offers makes everything just a little bit more confusing. They should work to make it simpler.
The initial setup can be a bit difficult.
The stability needs to be better.View full review »

This solution would be much better if we could install an endpoint and have centralized management. This would allow me to subscribe, push an endpoint to the client, and then control these points.
I would like to see the inclusion of security agents, for example from McAfee or Symantec, which can scan the communication for threats. This would help avoid problems if a user has malware on their machine. Webex would also be able to scan for malicious files.View full review »

My company does a lot of international calls. For some countries they do not have their local number to call in, all they have is a 1-800 number which is quite hard to find. If they want to improve they should set up the local number to call in. What would be beneficial.View full review »

The performance of WebEx could be improved. If you're using it on a mobile device and on the laptop, you sometimes get glitches, where you've answered the call or joined a meeting on a laptop and your mobile device doesn't quite know what's going on. It may just be technical glitches, but it seems to be a bit shaky sometimes on mobile devices.View full review »

Sometimes the call quality is not that great. When you call in, especially in an international situation, or if you have people calling from different continents or geographical locations, there can be issues with the call itself.
I would like to see improved chatting functionality. The chat boxes need to be more prominent. It would be nice if you could edit your chat, and easily add attachments into it, similar to Slack, to make it easier to share, sidebar, and communicate during calls. It's very important to add some sort of editing function into the chats. You want to be professional and fix any mistakes and not just leave them there.
CyberSecurity Venture Partner - Americas at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
I would like to see additional online chat capabilities. You had to launch the app pretty much all of the time. These are areas where Webex can do a little better.

I was in a meeting on the free version where there were no controls. You couldn't mute somebody or put it in dedicated speaker mode. It was an important meeting, and because of the lack of an ability to control who the speakers were, we got a version of a heckler. Well, it wasn't really a heckler per se. It was just somebody who thinks they know everything.View full review »

Webex's Bluetooth functionality could be better. For example, I use Webex on my Android mobile phone and connect with Bluetooth.
