Webex Room for Improvement

I would appreciate improvements in communication stability and performance. Sometimes we experience a poor communication stream, but I am uncertain whether it is due to the internet link or something else. The video and voice quality can be poor, though this does not happen constantly; it depends on certain individuals.

Usability needs improvement. Webex is more complex compared to Zoom. Zoom has a big advantage in simplicity, especially for the other side to connect to a session.

It is a challenge. Integrating the product is not as easy as other collaboration tools because specific APIs must be deployed for integration. The user experience must be improved. It will be helpful if the vendor provides better training manuals.

Webex has issues. If you use Zoom on Microsoft Team, Webex can look complicated since, at times, voice or audio is an area that may not be very clear. Problems start when a large number of users try to use the solution, but it starts to function better automatically when the count of the people involved in the product comes down, making it seem like a not-so-scalable tool. The scalability and voice quality attached to the solution are areas of concern where improvements are required.
I think the tool should make it easier to receive reports related to areas like how many participants are there in a meeting, comments, and file transfers inside the app. It is not so easy to obtain information in areas like the number of participants, comments, and file transfers inside the application.
Making a recording and downloading it is not so easy on Webex.
I think Webex could be improved by simplifying the process. For instance, they could make it easier to join meetings by providing a direct meeting link without requiring sign-ups or logins. While security is important, finding a balance with user-friendliness is key.

I don't like Webex. Some of the users of the companies I used to work for could only use the tool with certain clients who used only Webex, so even my company had no other way to deal with them. It wasn't a good experience for me using Webex because it stopped working all of a sudden, and I had to reinstall it. During the last month, my company switched to WebClient, and it seemed to fix the issues we were facing with Webex. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the solution.
The solution's local technical support needs improvement.
I have had issues with the frequent updates from Webex. From an improvement perspective, I would like to receive fewer updates from Webex.

Although we utilize it for team collaboration, it's not very efficient. Most people don't bother turning on their video during meetings. We feel stuck in the past, relying on outdated technology.
We had 20 people on a call, and whenever someone wanted to use the chat, they struggled to find the button. It was like a constant hunt for the chat feature, especially when you're presenting. It could feel quite desperate at times.
View full review »Currently, I'm unable to find any loophole in Webex, but in terms of areas for improvement, it would be better if a user is informed about any new updates or new features added to the tool.
View full review »The product needs to improve its integration. I'm not sure how difficult it is for the IT team to set up the integration. Once set up, it's easy but still not as straightforward as other platforms, like Microsoft Teams, where everything is within the same technical environment. To ensure further security, face authentication should also be added for all internal corporate users logged into the platform.

There is room for improvement in the chat history and search functionality in Webex, making it easier to find past conversations and commands by keywords.
Webex is a very demanding application, so it requires a very heavy bandwidth. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the product. The pros of the product overshadow the product's cons.

View full review »I would like it if Webex's mobile interface had all the same application integration as the desktop. Maybe the applications work on mobile as well, but we have not tried it yet.
View full review »The only reason why we could not stay with Webex was because they didn't have a data center in the African region. There were latency issues as well, so we couldn't continue using the tool. These are its areas for improvement. Other than these issues, there's no other area for improvement, because Webex is good the way it is.
Having a data center in the African region will help improve the latency issues, without incurring additional costs. There is a way that you can improve the latency issues, but you have to buy hardware from Cisco to put into your data center. Not a lot of companies would like to do that.
It would be better if it were more secure. I do expect Webex to keep up with hackers and their latest techniques.

When you mute or unmute someone in Webex it causes a tone or a sound that can be distracting. For example, in Microsoft Teams when someone is muted or unmuted it is silent. When we have a meeting with 100 people the noises are too much. Webex needs to reduce the number of noises activated by using the solution.

This platform has a lot of performance problems and challenges, particularly with the connection. Connecting is as easy as clicking on a link, but if you connect with so many people, Webex doesn't perform well. It doesn't run smoothly. It requires stable internet connection.
Integration with other systems, as well as customization, may be beneficial within the context of the specific work set.
I would like to see more integration, with respect to some more unified communication activities.

In terms of Screen share, it would be helpful to have more control over what is being presented on the screen. They may have that functionality, but I've never used it. For example, being able to click back to look at previous slides, even though the presenter has gone forward, or having some type of pointer mechanism that helps to call out different areas of the screen when presenting.
They may already have a function for this that I am not aware of, but I would like to see more whiteboarding capabilities. I would think of this in terms of post-it notes or other things where you can facilitate some interactive engagement. There are products like Miro and CloudBoard, as well as a slew of others of a similar nature. I believe Microsoft Teams has something similar built-in. But, given how much time people spend in online meetings, I believe there should be ways to engage or create more engagement with the participants.
View full review »I was in a meeting on the free version where there were no controls. You couldn't mute somebody or put it in dedicated speaker mode. It was an important meeting, and because of the lack of an ability to control who the speakers were, we got a version of a heckler. Well, it wasn't really a heckler per se. It was just somebody who thinks they know everything.
View full review »The price should be improved significantly. The software, licenses and hardware combine to make the solution extremely expensive.
The interconnectivity of all of the solution's facilities and functions can be more complex than that which is involved in basic configuration, when equipment, telephone extensions or other mobile apps are thrown into the mix.
The main issue is the performance in relation to the operating system. The base application uses a lot of resources. They could work on the performance of the application so that it's less heavy.
This service could be improved by implementing integration with Microsoft platforms. If you are on a call with Webex, you can get a call from Teams or Skype for Business without receiving any indication.

We had one problematic issue and that was with the recordings that were kept on the web. Initially they were auto archiving but then recordings were getting deleted after three months and we weren't aware of that change in their policy. I lost a lot of my recordings and I think they should have a longer retention period for the recordings.

This solution would be much better if we could install an endpoint and have centralized management. This would allow me to subscribe, push an endpoint to the client, and then control these points.
I would like to see the inclusion of security agents, for example from McAfee or Symantec, which can scan the communication for threats. This would help avoid problems if a user has malware on their machine. Webex would also be able to scan for malicious files.

Everybody these days uses virtual meeting solutions because we're all remote working. It would be a benefit if there were permanent collaboration spaces for projects. For example, the way Teams has its teams folders and shared locations. Webex is missing that feature, or maybe it has it and I'm not aware of it. However, it needs a permanent sharing location for when projects can get stored and can be a collaboration space as opposed to only a meeting space.

They have a feature that is amazing but it's not implemented properly. It's called Profile Insight and it's similar to LinkedIn. Before you join a meeting, you can see the background of the person. It's definitely not easy to learn or to teach. While the multitudes of functions are key selling points, the company didn't offer us any form of training for future employees, so it was up to us to train each other. Their customer service was also fairly sub-par as far as what I am used to.

1. Video conferencing is not as fast as expected.
2. I don’t think WebEx can support more than 1000 participants.WebEx is one of the leading online conference tools. It is a collaborative tool that combines video, data and voice. It bridges the gap between physical locations. We have multiple branches and we have found that bringing people together becomes almost impossible. Thiat is the major reason why we decided to use WebEx.
WebEx supports both computers and mobile phones. This means both computer (PCs, tablets, Macs) users and mobile phone users can easily participate in the conference. It also has free applications for ipad and iPhones. One thing we enjoyed most was the toll-free facility. You can easily share the desktop screen or files.
