How was the initial setup?
The install is not a problem at all, it did not take very much time.
What about the implementation team?
We did the deployment and we have a few employees for maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is too expensive and the licensing system is complicated. There are many pages of instruction on how to do the calculations for the price.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
We are considering other products at this time because of the cost.
What other advice do I have?
We have just started using the product, it is unclear if we will continue to use it after taking into account the unclear pricing structure.
I rate Microsoft PowerApps a seven out of ten.

Intelligent Automation Lead (RPA & AI) at a tech services company with 501-1,000 employees
Many bugs, not accurate, but easy to navigate
Pros and Cons
- "Microsoft PowerApps's most valuable features we found are that it's very similar to the other Microsoft products, you can do the basic automation quite quickly. The interface is similar to the other Microsoft products which makes it easy to navigate around because we are used to Microsoft products."
- "Microsoft PowerApps can improve the number of bugs that are present. When you are using the different applications it is not accurate."
What is our primary use case?
We did a POF with Microsoft PowerApps and we used it for simple automation tasks.
How has it helped my organization?
The solution has not helped our organization. Since we moved away from Microsoft PowerApps from the bugs and I'm not sure if it's improved. When I look at the developer community, it's still buggy, there are some issues. It's not consistent when you are working with applications. If I work with the same application, it gives me a different choice every time. It doesn't give you the same choice of how to interact with the application.
What is most valuable?
Microsoft PowerApps's most valuable features we found are that it's very similar to the other Microsoft products, you can do the basic automation quite quickly. The interface is similar to the other Microsoft products which makes it easy to navigate around because we are used to Microsoft products.
What needs improvement?
Microsoft PowerApps can improve the number of bugs that are present. When you are using the different applications it is not accurate.
In the next release of Microsoft PowerApps, they should add IDP and a control room.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Microsoft PowerApps for two months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Microsoft PowerApps is not stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Microsoft PowerApps is not scalable. When compared to the other solutions that we've worked with, it's scalable. Everyone can build their own automation and there isn't a single repository where you can share or make sure that you're using the same automation. Everyone builds their own version of the same automation it's inefficient and at the same time, it is not scalable because if one thing breaks, you have to go update every process that you've automated.
How are customer service and support?
In terms of support, there isn't much support compared to UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automate Anywhere. There is not a lot of documentation, training, or community support. People are starting to use Microsoft PowerApps, but by the time it catches up, it'll be a while.
I rate the support of Microsoft PowerApps a three out of five.
What about the implementation team?
We had six people for the maintenance of the processes used in Microsoft PowerApps.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated many other solutions.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to others wanting to implement Microsoft PowerApps, they should do research on the connectors that are available compared to the competition. This will speed up the time to their end goal because Microsoft doesn't have many. The general support documentation that is available on using the tool, compare them with the other solutions to make a decision on what solution to use. They don't have many resources yet that are qualified in Microsoft PowerApps or Microsoft Power Automate.
I rate Microsoft PowerApps a four out of five.
Microsoft PowerApps needs a lot of fixes and improvements, and the competition is way far ahead compared to Microsoft at the moment.

RPA Developer at a manufacturing company with 10,001+ employees
Effective user experience and development ease in diverse HR and operations challenges
Pros and Cons
- "Overall, I would rate Microsoft Power Apps nine out of ten."
- "Improvements needed for Microsoft Power Apps include addressing the delegation issue."
What is our primary use case?
I have encountered numerous challenging use cases with Microsoft Power Apps, primarily in HR or operations and management. Most of the projects rely on document uploads and approval levels. I have implemented all these logics using Microsoft Power Apps.
What is most valuable?
Two essential features of Microsoft Power Apps are the user experience and the development area. It is easy to build an application within a few hours or a few days, even with complex requirements. With Microsoft Power Apps, there are three different areas: Canvas, Model Driven, and Power Pages. Power Pages, previously known as Power Portal, has been moved into a separate module. Canvas Apps provide complete user design flexibility with many connectors to integrate into Microsoft Power Apps, making it efficient to fetch and update information from various data sources such as Dataverse, Excel, SharePoint, and Azure. This helps in building applications with less effort, as it offers plenty of connectors. It is compatible with Outlook, Gmail, and Office 365 users.
What needs improvement?
Improvements needed for Microsoft Power Apps include addressing the delegation issue. Currently, we have a restriction to load almost two thousand records when connecting directly with a data source. While there are non-delegable functions available, they require filtering and categorizing the data before bringing it into the application. It would be beneficial if Microsoft could increase this limit, as, in many use cases, applications might require importing data exceeding two thousand records, potentially reaching one hundred thousand. Additionally, integrating Power BI features like charts and analytics directly into Microsoft Power Apps would be advantageous. This would eliminate the need for separate integration and allow handling everything within a single platform.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Microsoft Power Apps for probably three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Overall, I would rate the stability of Microsoft Power Apps 9.5 out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability of Microsoft Power Apps as eight out of ten. It is quite scalable, though there are some limitations regarding the number of records, as mentioned previously.
How are customer service and support?
I would rate the customer service from Microsoft as eight out of ten. A few months ago, I contacted support for an issue, but the response time was longer than expected.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of Microsoft Power Apps is quite easy. Users just need to share the application, and the respective user will be notified via email for easy access. Compared to other platforms, managing applications with Microsoft Power Apps does not require much effort.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I would rate the pricing of Microsoft Power Apps a six out of ten. It is in the middle range and considered reasonable given the current price.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I do not see any competitors capable of providing a solution like Microsoft Power Apps in the industry. While UiPath offers an application-oriented tool, I have not used it much, so I cannot provide an informed comparison. However, when compared to Microsoft, I believe Microsoft would lead the industry.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, I would rate Microsoft Power Apps nine out of ten. I recommend it to any organization, regardless of size. Digitalization is happening worldwide, and it's compatible with both Windows and mobile devices. This makes it cost-efficient and flexible for designing applications to suit one's needs. My review can include my personal name without any contact details or company information.
