We do not incur any licensing costs, as we use the free version.
What other advice do I have?
As we use another collaboration tool, I believe there to be a couple of users making use of the solution in our organization.
I would not recommend the solution to others.
I rate Zoom as a six out of ten.

Good network utilization, easy to use, and easy to set up

I am using it for virtual meetings. I have its latest version.
What is most valuable?
It is very easy to use. The utilization of the network is very good.
What needs improvement?
I have had some performance issues in GPU lately.
If Zoom added the feature of Zoom Phone so that I can use it as a phone, it would be much better.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is stable, but lately, I have had some performance issues in GPU.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

How was the initial setup?
It is very easy. It is a very small application.
What about the implementation team?
I did it myself.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Zoom depending on the circumstances of the customers, such as their current subscription and so on. For example, if you have a Microsoft subscription, then why not use Teams?
I would rate Zoom an eight out of 10.

Performs better than competitors and has a user-friendly interface
Pros and Cons
- "Compared to Teams, Zoom's performance and user interface are better. This is especially the case when you're doing any kind of online presentation, PowerPoint, or team demo. I think Zoom is much more user friendly."
- "If Zoom could be more secure, that would be better. Security is always a highly sensitive matter for everyone today."
What is our primary use case?
There are upwards of 200 people in my organization using Zoom for video conferencing.
What is most valuable?
Compared to Teams, Zoom's performance and user interface are better. This is especially the case when you're doing any kind of online presentation, PowerPoint, or team demo. I think Zoom is much more user friendly. I don't know the level of security of Zoom, but it underwent a CSO test and was approved, so the level of security is good enough for us to use it. Since we are dealing with cyber security, I think it should be well secured.
What needs improvement?
If Zoom could be more secure, that would be better. Security is always a highly sensitive matter for everyone today.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Zoom for five or six years.
How are customer service and support?
We've had no issues with Zoom that required us to contact technical support.
How was the initial setup?
Installing Zoom is very straightforward. It only took a couple of minutes.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't know what the price for Zoom is. It's a company license, so I don't know anything about pricing.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Zoom nine out of 10. I would recommend it to others.

Senior Manager at Mitrais
Stable and easy to implement with great video conferencing capabilities
Pros and Cons
- "The ability to make video calls is the solution's most valuable aspect."
- "I can't think of any features that are lacking."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily use the solution daily for meetings.
Basically, our office just uses it when we need to have a meeting or have a call with a client or even a colleague in the company as well. Due to COVID, everyone is currently working from home, so we really do use it a lot.
What is most valuable?
The ability to make video calls is the solution's most valuable aspect.
What needs improvement?
The solution fulfills our needs at this time. I can't think of any features that are lacking.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution probably for about two years now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very stable. The solution itself is very simple. It doesn't have bugs and glitches. It doesn't crash and affect meetings.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution can scale well.
Right now, we have about 500 people in-house using the solution. Right now, everyone is using it int eh company, so I don't know if we can actually increase usage.
How are customer service and technical support?
We haven't had any issues with the solution so far, so we haven't had to contact them at all. I can't speak to the quality of their service.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We're a Microsoft partner and therefore do use a lot of their products.
We did use another conference software before Zoom, however, I don't remember the name of it, and as I recall it wasn't very stable. OUr connection would often drop. The application couldn't handle the acceptance of our firewall very well and kept having problems.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not complex at all. It was all very straightforward. It's quite easy.
Deployment is dead simple We just buy the license and start sending invites to meetings. There isn't any strategy needed to get started.
You only need one person for deployment and maintenance.
What about the implementation team?
We are support integrators ourselves, so we are quite capable of handling any deployment in house. We don't need the help of resellers or consultants.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I have no idea how much we pay to use the service.
What other advice do I have?
I'm not the one who send out the invite or minutes the application itself. I simply just use it for meetings for Zoom.
It's a software solution, so every time we use it, we're using the most up to date version available.
I'd rate the solution ten out of ten. It's an excellent product.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

CIO at a financial services firm with 51-200 employees
Great functionality, very reliable, and offers excellent video and audio quality
Pros and Cons
- "The video and audio quality are very good."
- "Although I have not experienced this issue directly, I have heard that there are a lot of security issues with Zoom. Security is very important to us and I have read in the news, there have been a few security issues with them, which worries us in general. We have to update this solution to use it for business purposes soon. We have to check it with an independent security product to verify its safety."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily use the solution to run meetings with our partners occasionally.
What is most valuable?
We like that the solution is very common. Everybody is using this type of collaboration software, which makes it easy for everyone to jump on a call, as everyone is familiar with the software. A lot of our partners are using Zoom.
The functionality is great.
We like the act that you can record a session if you like.
The video and audio quality are very good.
We can use it anywhere, including on-premise or remotely.
What needs improvement?
Although I have not experienced this issue directly, I have heard that there are a lot of security issues with Zoom. Security is very important to us and I have read in the news, there have been a few security issues with them, which worries us in general. We have to update this solution to use it for business purposes soon. We have to check it with an independent security product to verify its safety.
I don't know if Zoom has a mobile application, however, if they don't, they should consider developing one.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've only been using the solution since the start of COVID-19, which has been, at this point, about six months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is very popular mostly because of its stability. It may be one of the top three solutions at this point. We haven't faced any issues and find it to be reliable. It doesn't crash or freeze and I haven't experienced bugs or glitches.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
About ten people in our organization use the solution, and occasionally maybe up to 15 colleagues who like to use Zoom and Zoom's business solutions for meetings.
I don't have a problem with scaling the solution. I haven't experienced any technical issues scaling and have been able to talk with big partners and corporates quite easily.
We do plan to move to the business version of Zoom in the future.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We do use other conferencing solutions as well, however, most of our clients are using Zoom, so it is our preference. We often also use Microsoft Teams.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was not complex at all. It was very fast and straightforward. The whole process really is just a few clicks and you are ready to go.
We didn't really have an implementation strategy, and deployment doesn't take long. Right now, we're just using the online version and considering buying a business account, which we haven't done yet. I'm not sure if that will have more of a setup process or not.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We're using the free version of the solution currently, and are considering a business account in the future.
I believe for business accounts, Zoom offers monthly and yearly pricing.
What other advice do I have?
We're using the free version of the solution. We needed to have a company type of access to use it so we do not have a local installation.
I would rate the solution nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Senior Manager at a tech services company with 11-50 employees
Reliable and easy to navigate with easy access to lots of great functionalities
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is easy to navigate."
- "The solution needs to have a feature that allows you to take over another person's screen. right now, that's not possible. This is important for our purposes due to the act that we are often using the solution to troubleshoot issues for our clients. If we could just take over their screen and go in and fix issues, it would make troubleshooting infinitely easier."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily use the solution for business meetings and occasionally for some personal events as well.
What is most valuable?
The solution is very reliable. I've never had issues with the video or audio.
The solution is easy to navigate.
It's very easy to find the functionalities I need when I am using it.
The product makes it easy to invite people to the meetings.
It offers great collaboration functionality.
What needs improvement?
The solution needs to have a feature that allows you to take over another person's screen. right now, that's not possible. This is important for our purposes due to the act that we are often using the solution to troubleshoot issues for our clients. If we could just take over their screen and go in and fix issues, it would make troubleshooting infinitely easier.
The solution should also make it easier to be able to share material with each other during the meetings.
If the flexibility could improve, so there aren't disruptions during meetings, that would be great. Occasionally we get a frozen page. However, that may be network or connectivity issues on our end.
For how long have I used the solution?
While I did occasionally use Zoom before COVID-19, due to participation in events organized by our software partner, I've only really begun to use it regularly this year, after we had to socially distance.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is great. It's reliable. The audio and video always work. There's no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash either.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is fine. If users need to scale the solution, they can do so easily. You can have many people on one call.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We also use Skype. Both Skype and Zoom have been very useful to us during COVID social distancing requirements.
The product is very reminiscent of Skype. I prefer both Zoom and Skype to Microsoft Teams, which I dislike. Teams is more difficult to use and to invite people to meetings. Skype and Zoom, for example, are easy to navigate to the functionalities I need.
I also do not like WebEx, which I have also used in the past. Webex takes control of my camera sometimes without explicitly stating so, and this is an unpleasant experience for me. Zoom never does this.
How was the initial setup?
I don't have much to say about the initial implementation. I always just use the web application, and, in that sense, there really isn't a setup of deployment of the product. It's just a website you go to utilize the services.
In my past experience using WebEx and Skype, however, I recall their setups to be quite easy and relatively quick. I imagine Zoom is very much the same.
What other advice do I have?
We're just Zoom customers. We don't have any special business partnership with the company.
I'm using the group application and I believe it's the latest version of the solution that I always access. I don't have it downloaded onto my PC.
Due to COVID, I've had to organize sessions on my own. Before COVID, I was only invited to sessions. It's only been recently that I've had to get to know all the functionality of to solution and processes behind inviting other people to meetings, etc.
I would advise other users to simply use the web application of the solution and to avoid downloading anything onto your desktop.
I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. I really like the solution. It has great useability.

Simple to use, cost-effective, and is highly available to everybody
Pros and Cons
- "The biggest advantage with Zoom, compared to other similar products, is the simplicity."
- "We would like to have the ability to connect people using phone numbers so that non-Zoom users can join conversations."
What is our primary use case?
I am primarily using Zoom for web-based training. I'm providing it as part of my job or instead, learning myself. Right now, I am taking Excel training.
What is most valuable?
The biggest advantage with Zoom, compared to other similar products, is the simplicity.
There are a large number of users because it is very accessible to people in organizations. Other similar products are sometimes blocked but so far, we have not had any firewall-related issues with Zoom.
What needs improvement?
We would like to have the ability to connect people using phone numbers so that non-Zoom users can join conversations. For example, on my side, I can be using Zoom but on the other side, the person is using their phone.
Integration with Microsoft products such as Outlook would be great.
For how long have I used the solution?
I began using Zoom within the past three or four months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Zoom is very stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability seems pretty good and we haven't faced any issues. We have had training seminars with more than 60 participants and everybody was successful. Nobody reported any technical issues.
How are customer service and technical support?
I have not faced any technical issues and have not had to contact support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Our main tools for internal communication at the company are Microsoft Teams and Skype. Zoom is mainly used for training sessions and does not have as many users. I am not aware of any plan to increase our usage of it.
The popularity of Zoom is the primary reason that we switch to using it for training sessions. It is accessible by everybody because it's a free tool.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward. I received a link to join a meeting, the software downloaded, and everything was fine. There was nothing special and I didn't have any problems.
What about the implementation team?
We have a few people who are responsible for maintenance.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Zoom can be used for free.
What other advice do I have?
My advice for anybody who is considering Zoom is that it's a great tool, I don't have any complaints, and I recommend it.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
Regional Councillor at a government with 1,001-5,000 employees
Has good screen sharing capability but is difficult to collaborate on the spot
Pros and Cons
- "The screen sharing feature is valuable. It is easy to set up a meeting if you are on a call with a non Teams user if you need to do screen sharing."
- "It is difficult to collaborate."
What is our primary use case?
Right now for meetings, we are using Zoom. We use it for video communications. Since the pandemic started we started using Zoom. Our first experience we had a problem with security. We got people bombing the meetings.
What is most valuable?
The screen sharing feature is valuable. It is easy to set up a meeting if you are on a call with a non Teams user if you need to do screen sharing. COVID-19 is showing us a new way to communicate, that everything doesn't have to be face to face meetings. And so the more you can really understand the capability of the software, the better you are.
What needs improvement?
It is difficult to collaborate. You have to book a meeting first before being able to do anything. We have had experiences where the meeting has frozen. We had to shut it down and get back on again to keep going. Zoom has privacy issues and also stability issues. I would like to see integrations into other applications. It would be nice to have multiple people be able to collaborate on the same screen.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Zoom for three or four months. Since the Pandemic started.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I would much rather be using Teams and be able to dial up anybody. With Teams, you can collaborate and share files with anybody. Teams are more dynamic. We have also used Skype.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Zoom at a five on a scale of 10. I don't think it has all the integration. This is also because of security issues.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud
