Netskope Valuable Features

Netskope serves as a single web console carrying out multiple functionalities: Zero Trust Network Architecture (ZTNA), Secure Web Gateway (SWG), Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB), Web DLP, and firewall services. I can toggle between these features on a single platform, enhancing ease of use. In comparison, Zscaler requires multiple consoles for managing similar features. Having these functionalities integrated into one dashboard makes Netskope efficient and user-friendly.

The most helpful features in Netskope are the data loss prevention module, the anti-malware module, and the integration that it has with Information Rights Management from Microsoft.
It has better categorization and more granular features regarding web protection, as it allows me to control HTTP methods. I can publish WhatsApp web for my users as read-only, for example. Other providers cannot; they are only on and off, and do not have the granularity for a website to be read-only.
That comes with a downside, which is that they need to regularly update their controls to support those features in those websites.

The centralized policy management is essential for applying consistent controls across all locations. The cloud enablement feature helps eliminate on-premises infrastructure by adopting Netskope. For threat detection and prevention, being able to lay down specific granular controls to block uploads to non-approved websites or web apps is very effective. Real-time protection enhances our security posture by providing continuous monitoring and prevention at the endpoints, which is spread across individuals working from various locations.

Netskope’s CASB provides good visibility of the applications being used. We can use Shadow IT based on the traffic. DLP and CASB are valuable features. The tool provides extensive DLP features. The best features that Netskope offers in my experience include SSC for secure services, CASB which helps to protect from different attacks, SWG feature, cloud firewall, SDPN which helps to create an instant connection, and remote browser isolation which isolates uncategorized and risky websites.
Compared to Checkpoint as SaaS, the catch rate of Netskope was very high and the system consumption rate such as RAM, ROM, and memory consumption for Netskope was less compared to Checkpoint SaaS. Netskope has positively impacted our organization by securing all our systems, and the response time is also less, with a high catch rate for any incident.

Netskope is cloud-native, enabling differentiation of tenants in cloud applications, whether they are enterprise or personal, and provides control over shadow IT access.
It also has a behavior engine with robust rules and machine learning capabilities, including image analysis with OCR capabilities.

Netskope is highly effective for Data Loss Prevention (DLP) with its inbuilt DLP capabilities. It protects data in the cloud, on the web, and in emails. The threat protection capabilities are beneficial, especially in reducing the load on email traffic by preventing phishing emails and providing malware protection from advanced threats. The easy deployment and configuration of the security policies make it a valuable solution.
View full review »We use Cisco VPN for remote access. Additionally, we have started implementing Netskope with a strong focus on security. Our primary goal is to protect users from accessing malicious sites. We also plan to implement DLP based on our data, as data security is our main concern.
The solution offers granular control over uploads and downloads. Previously, we lacked monitoring and control over downloads from malicious sites, but now, with Netskope, we can block such downloads. We are currently in the testing phase of implementing DLP, specifically for personally identifiable information data. We don't want it to be uploaded to the cloud.
I'm currently involved in integrating Netskope with SentinelOne in our organization. The goal is to consolidate our alert monitoring by setting up a virtual machine and establishing threat exchange protocols. This integration allows us to use a single console to monitor alerts from both Netskope and SentinelOne, enabling better correlation of security incidents.

View full review »The solution provides information about third-party applications registered to our corporate email address and alerts us when users enroll in other applications using their work email.
The tool helps us detect threats and provides insights. Then, we take necessary measures to ensure users have MFA enrolled and take other security steps.
We are an airline, so our users frequently move between locations. For example, a pilot might log in from one country in the morning and another within a few hours. Netskope helps us guard against threats by detecting if a data exfiltration attempt occurs from a specific location.
Netskope provides audit trends for all accesses via KSP and the identification of Shadow IT.
Today, buying a server or hosting an application is very easy. Anyone can buy an instance by paying on AWS or Google. Due to this, there are many applications within the organization that IT is not even aware of because someone in business might have bought one without IT's knowledge. The perspectives of these two groups are very different, and that's the issue.
In Azure, we have multiple subscriptions and with every subscription, we add some kind of instance ID. We can work with the instance ID so that we allow all of the instances containing nodules. Everything else, we block. This way, if you go to outlook.com and check your email, if you log in with your company account, the instance ID will show. The network will take action according to the instance ID and say, "You are using the enterprise email. I'll let you surf. I'll let you see your email." But when you try to log in with your own email address, like Hotmail or Gmail, the instance ID will be different.
This way we are not completely blocking Outlook, but we are blocking people from accessing their Outlook. We are only allowing the enterprise-level emails, and we are not allowing user-based emails. That's the feature I love most.
View full review »The most valuable feature of Netskope is that it is a SaaS-delivered solution. It's somewhere running in the cloud, and there's no limitation in performance like you would have with hardware. You need to change hardware all the time.
However, this platform grows when your company grows, and you have more employees and more traffic. You don't need to think about that anymore. The solution also provides granular control over the SaaS applications that people are using.
It's like moving from URL filtering or a web proxy to a real CASB. Netskope takes it a step further by recognizing if you're logging into your corporate Office 365, a private one, or a competitor's Office 365.
The most valuable features of the solution are that the support is very good and the dashboards are easy and intuitive to use.
View full review »Netskope is an efficient, reliable, and easy-to-manage solution. It goes very granular in blocking some of the features in third-party cloud solutions, like share or download.
View full review »It's one of the top-ranking solutions in the market, and it's very responsive. We are using Netskope, and Netskope provides a load of features for SQL, STP, and traffic control.
We have blocked all data-sharing websites like Gmail, Google Drive, and Dropbox. We have also blocked them globally in broadband and Capitec. We are ISO certified, so we use a bunch of tools that we use, so that's why we are using a pro product that is number one in Gartner.

Netskope CASB has authorized over 57,000 cloud apps and classifies them on a rating scale between zero and one hundred based on compliance with regulatory standards. With this feature, organizations can easily determine which cloud apps are compliant and which are not.
Many cloud apps are not in compliance and are at risk of being breached, but with Netskope CASB, they can be classified and better managed. These are the most valuable features according to me.
View full review »A feature that was valuable was the built-in website classification or safety ratings. Different websites would be rated according to analyses that the Netskope team had done, and we built policies on some of those scores. If the website scored less than a certain percentage, then we would have a different user experience around how the site would interact with the clients.

I have found the most useful features to be the Web Secure Gateway, CASB, infrastructural service scanning, and Zero Trust. Additionally, the UI is very simple to work with.

This is a journey, this is not a destination. They're forever enhancing the solution to meet various and sundry requirements and needs. Just this year alone, they introduced the ability to support emails and being able to keep emails from a phishing perspective.
The automation offered by the product is pretty solid.
The initial setup is straightforward.
The training materials on offer are very good.
The solution can scale.
The stability has been pretty good so far.
View full review »The most valuable feature of the product stems from the fact that there is a list of all Netskope POPs, which is the point of presence spread throughout the world. When you work on the backbone of the tool, you can break out, meaning you don't have to come back to your original service provider and then go to your new service provider to use the tool on the internet. If I am in the US or the UK, I can break out at that POP when using Netskope, so I don't need to come back onto my network and go back through my network again to access the product.
The agent is the easiest to deploy. Once it's deployed, it easy to enable features such as URL filtering, et cetera.
The interface is good.
The onboarding process is pretty straightforward.
The configuration is okay.
There' lots of great new features.
It's one of the best solutions on the market.

Tenant identification for cloud storage services.
View full review »The most valuable feature for us is the 360-degree visibility it provides. Now I have the ability to see what’s coming and going in the organization from a cloud application perspective. I had no visibility into that whatsoever and with this now I can see what’s coming, what’s going. The ability to see our apps compare multiple apps that are the same time, for example, like Box and Dropbox, I can actually compare them to see which is a better fit. I can see uptimes and I can assess risk to them based on things that are important to us and not just the industry.
It’s very adjustable to the things that I want, which might be different than the things that you want and different than things that other companies want. For us being a company that deals with patient data, you can imagine that it's really important to us that we have a company that’s got, for example, a SOX certification. If you are a company that doesn’t view all that kind of sensitive data, you don’t really care. In just seconds I can go on to Netskope and see exactly what the situation is.
View full review »It gives us a very broad look at SaaS governance. It doesn’t focus only on security risk, it also brings in the vast assets of managing SaaS and it addresses redundancies in the SaaS that we have paid for.
