Users save time and effort since most integrations come with clear documentation readily available before the standard setup process, ensuring immediate functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "Automation Anywhere offers a complete suite of development tools to empower developers for various enterprise automation needs."
  • "Automation Anywhere risks falling behind by focusing solely on Robotic Process Automation when competitors offer more versatile and adaptable solutions that integrate AI for a more intelligent automation experience."

What is our primary use case?

Automation Anywhere is an RPA tool we use to automate common workflows that interact with various enterprise applications. These workflows can involve tasks like data generation, sending emails, or completing transactions within those enterprise systems.

We implemented Automation Anywhere to automate our workflows and save time.

How has it helped my organization?

In the past, these tasks were handled manually, leading to a lot of repetition. Automation Anywhere has eliminated that burden, making these same tasks much easier and significantly faster to complete.

We implemented AI-based automation that combines documents using intelligent document processing. This involved integrating generative AI to automatically create responses based on the data extracted from the documents. This automation streamlines the process and delivers the desired business output to end users.

Automation Anywhere caters to business users with its user-friendly interface, allowing them to build automation with minimal technical expertise. Our large business user community exemplifies this – after a five-day training program with hands-on exercises, they're empowered to independently develop their own automation within three to four days. This highlights the platform's ease of use from a business user perspective.

To ensure our business users can leverage RPA, we provide training through Automation Anywhere University. This platform offers in-depth coverage of both use cases and technical aspects, along with customized training that helps users directly connect their daily tasks to RPA methods. This blended approach has proven to be very effective.

Non-technical users can overcome the learning curve in four to five days.

While Automation Co-Pilot is a strong solution overall and integrates well with web applications, integrating it with legacy systems may require some effort on our part. However, this effort is typically minimal, taking just a few days to achieve successful integration. We're currently testing Automation Co-Pilot and exploring its potential for AI integration, which reinforces our belief in its overall value.

Based on our POCs, we project that Automation Co-Pilot will add value to our projects.

Automation Co-Pilot helps free up our staff's time on projects.

Automation Anywhere's service and customer support are improving. Their management prioritizes strong relationships with customers, evidenced by frequent collaborative meetings. This focus on customer solutions, along with other efforts, contributes to a clear upward trend in their overall support effectiveness. They've been a valuable asset to our organization.

Generative AI has the potential to revolutionize how we implement automation. Our organization sees a significant opportunity to leverage generative AI within the Automation Anywhere landscape. As a bot-focused organization, we have achieved a 30 percent automation feasibility rate. By combining automation with AI, we can achieve a 70 percent rate. This represents the kind of scalability we envision for our organization.

Our organization is expanding its use of Automation Anywhere. We have two main approaches: governance is handled through a dedicated platform integrated with Automation Anywhere, while bot deployment utilizes a separate web platform built with XTML or Java that interacts with Automation Anywhere for bot execution and deployment.

Integrating automation and APIs with Automation Anywhere streamlines workflows significantly. Users save time and effort since most integrations come with clear documentation readily available before the standard setup process, ensuring immediate functionality. Automation Anywhere's documentation serves as the primary resource for all integrations, and users can find most information there. For any remaining questions, support channels are readily available for further assistance.

Automation Anywhere has significantly reduced our operational costs and freed up employee time. With thousands of automated processes running on our platform, we're saving thousands of hours of work every month.

What is most valuable?

Automation Anywhere offers a complete suite of development tools to empower developers for various enterprise automation needs. These tools include packages specifically designed for SAP integrations and other commonly used enterprise applications, making them highly efficient for building automation across different use cases within large organizations. Additionally, the web-based nature of the platform adds further value by enabling easy access and collaboration.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere risks falling behind by focusing solely on Robotic Process Automation when competitors offer more versatile and adaptable solutions that integrate AI for a more intelligent automation experience.

Getting started is easy - the initial deployment follows standard procedures and can be completed in as little as two days for a simple use case. Complex setups may take up to a month, and the number of personnel required varies from two to ten people depending on the specific needs of each project.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Automation Anywhere falls within a mid-range price point when compared to other RPA tools on the market.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

After considering UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, and Automation Anywhere, we chose Automation Anywhere due to its ability to handle growth in our automation needs and its strong data security measures.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere nine out of ten.

Upgrading Automation Anywhere can be challenging, especially when migrating from a client-server architecture to Microsoft's. However, within the Microsoft architecture itself, upgrades are significantly smoother and can be completed within a four to five-hour downtime window.

While Automation Anywhere itself doesn't require application-specific maintenance, we still need to perform regular maintenance on the server it's running on. One person is enough for the maintenance.

The time to maintain bots varies depending on their purpose but typically ranges from one to four days on average.

Automation Anywhere is best suited for enterprise-level deployments due to its robust features. However, for smaller-scale needs, other options might be more efficient. If you're dealing with a large organization, Automation Anywhere is a strong choice. I recommend trying it to experience its microservice architecture, which allows for scalability and agility, as well as its integrated AI capabilities. Enabled our employees to focus on more creative, meaningful work
Pros and Cons
  • "We get a significant ROI even though the licensing cost is higher than average. The gains we realize from the initial development make up for it. In the last three years, I estimate we have saved around 2,200 hours of labor. To date, we've saved almost $6 million."
  • "The local support in Brazil could improve. While it has gotten better in the last few months, we've struggled as a global company trying to contact them sometimes."

What is our primary use case?

We use Automation Anywhere to automate tasks throughout the company, enabling our employees to be more productive and conduct more analysis.

How has it helped my organization?

We can save money by implementing automations. Before implementing Automation Anywhere, we had a lot of repetitive tasks that weren't adding value. It improved morale by automating some of the boring, repetitive tasks, allowing our employees to focus on more creative, meaningful work.

What is most valuable?

I like Automation Anywhere's development interface. Our developers love it because it's easier to learn, and they can pick it up quicker than the other tools. We can integrate Automation Anywhere with Slack to get alerts from our bots.

It's also integrated with our core banking application and many legacy applications that we could not integrate without the Automation Anywhere platform. Around 70 percent of our environment is integrated with it. The integration is fast and seamless. Integrating tools through the APIs is simple, reliable, and efficient.

We have a lot of ideas for leveraging Automation Anywhere's AI capabilities. For example, we use it to conduct analysis for our clients. We can use it to check a lot of documents. It can not only read but write documents. Using AI, we can run checks to see if a customer has been approved for credit.

It can help this process go faster, and we can enhance our employee's potential by augmenting their analysis with AI. We are already using generative AI. It has been a huge success because we are using it like a copilot to improve our employees' potential. We can scale it faster with another process in the automation manager.

We have developers, so all of our team has technical knowledge. However, Automation Anywhere's learning platform is comprehensive and it's easy to learn things on your own. Many of our developers didn't know anything about the platform, but it was easy for them to learn and become fully productive.

What needs improvement?

I think there are some opportunities to improve integration with monitoring tools already on the market to make this even faster. We struggle a little when applying the upgrades because the control room has some flaws. That's one advantage of migrating to the cloud. If we do that, then we don't have to upgrade manually. There is a SaaS option, but we decided to opt for on-prem and perform the upgrades ourselves. We're thinking of choosing the cloud options in the next version to make it easier.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used Automation Anywhere since 2022.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere is highly scalable. That's one of its advantages. It's easier to scale than other solutions. We are a financial institution serving around 26 million clients with only 3,000 employees. We need automation to attend to our operational tasks. Otherwise, it would be challenging to manage all of our clients

How are customer service and support?

I rate Automation Anywhere support nine out of 10. The local support in Brazil could improve. While it has gotten better in the last few months, we've struggled as a global company trying to contact them sometimes.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment took three months, but it took a year to change the legacy bots to Automation Anywhere. We decided to automate new projects that would yield more ROI before finishing the migration of our legacy bots.

What was our ROI?

We get a significant ROI even though the licensing cost is higher than average. The gains we realize from the initial development make up for it. In the last three years, I estimate we have saved around 2,200 hours of labor. To date, we've saved almost $6 million.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost of Automation Anywhere is fine.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at two other solutions before making the decision to choose Automation Anywhere. One reason was reliability. When we implemented it, Automation Anywhere was already a widely used and popular tool. It has high availability, which is one requirement for a banking solution. It's also easy to learn, use, and implement. We looked at the leaders in Gartner's, such as Blue Prism and UiPath. Automation Anywhere stood out for its development interface.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Automation Anywhere nine out of 10.

It is user-friendly, scalable, and helps increase productivity
Pros and Cons
  • "We have installed Automation Anywhere on AWS, Azure, and GCP, which works well."
  • "One of the main concerns with Automation Anywhere is the lack of a robust feature for capturing and managing information from the user interface, something competitors like Blue Prism already offer."

What is our primary use case?

I have used Automation Anywhere in various industries, including banking, telecommunications, retail, and oil and gas. In such clients, there's often a mismatch between systems, needing more integration. Creating new integrations from scratch, like calling APIs, is complex. Automation Anywhere bypasses this by integrating systems through their user interfaces. For instance, inserting data into an SAP database typically requires knowledge of connection strings, database design, and tables. This information isn't readily available. With Automation Anywhere, I observe users performing tasks like creating clients. I note the screen and information used, then load that into an Excel file. Automation Anywhere processes numerous transactions using Excel data and screen interactions. This accelerates digital transformation. While APIs are the ideal engineering solution for integration, robotics provides the fastest results.

We have installed Automation Anywhere on AWS, Azure, and GCP, which works well.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation Anywhere is user-friendly with its concept, even C-level executives can try automating tasks in five minutes, which is a great marketing strategy. However, for professionals in sectors like banking who design critical mission bots, deeper knowledge is necessary, including logging, API calls, etc. Automation Anywhere's best features are sufficient for newbies or those needing quick implementations.

Copilot is a good feature for those using machine learning and AI.

Copilot helps increase the productivity of new users.

Typically, extracting information from transactional systems requires tools like Automation Anywhere. For less structured tasks, generative AI is a great option. One area where these tools can improve is web scraping. For instance, if a website changes, traditional bots fail. However, with generative AI, we can create bots that understand page context and adjust accordingly. For example, if the input field for a flight code changes its location or ID, a generative AI-powered bot can still identify it by understanding the context of the surrounding labels, like "flight code". I believe we'll see a significant evolution in the coming years, with computer vision and generative AI enabling bots to understand the location of information on a screen and adjust web scraping strategies dynamically.

What needs improvement?

One of the main concerns with Automation Anywhere is the lack of a robust feature for capturing and managing information from the user interface, something competitors like Blue Prism already offer. In Blue Prism, you can create an "application model" to capture every control on a screen and assign them to variables, making it easy to reference and update them in your code, even if the screen layout changes. In Automation Anywhere, however, you must manually search and update capture instructions within the code, which is time-consuming and error-prone. Implementing a similar feature in Automation Anywhere would be critical for improving efficiency and maintainability. While this idea has been discussed with the company, it has yet to be implemented.

For experienced developers, there's room for improvement. For instance, code refactoring, a valuable feature, is currently impossible in Automation Anywhere. While Automation Anywhere is excellent for beginners, it could benefit from enhancements for advanced users.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for eight years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere is scalable. One of my clients, the largest bank in our country, is also one of Automation Anywhere's biggest clients. We have Automation Anywhere running on over 9,000 computers at the bank.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team is an excellent resource. We are a long-standing partner of Automation Anywhere in our country. My team possesses a deep understanding of the platform, but when we require assistance, the support team is always helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment of Automation Anywhere is straightforward. We use the bot model and deploy bot runners through the Automation Anywhere cloud, simplifying the process. While using the Automation Anywhere cloud is convenient, we've also deployed an instance in a private cloud environment like Azure or AWS, which works well. However, deploying in a private cloud requires knowledge of clustering and related concepts, so it's not suitable for everyone.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

On average, a bot runner in Automation Anywhere can cost $5,000, while in Microsoft Power Automate, you can get most of the same functionality for $100. However, when you factor in the materials, support, and ecosystem of Automation Anywhere, it proves to be a more cost-effective solution overall.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Automation Anywhere ten out of ten.

Typically, they release hotfixes, and if you're using Automation Anywhere's cloud platform, you receive these hotfixes automatically and at no cost. However, in my situation, as a system integrator partner of Automation Anywhere, they inform us of available hotfixes, which we then download and implement without issue.

Provides good operations efficiency and speed, but many finance applications do not support it
Pros and Cons
  • "The benefit of using Automation Anywhere is the efficiency of operations and speed."
  • "There should be a way to avoid recoding everything whenever there's an upgrade to the latest version."

What is our primary use case?

We use Automation Anywhere for all R2R processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets. Our systems are set up in a way that requires a lot of manual processes. We redesigned the processes so that we could move to some rule-based ways of working. Then, wherever we could make it rule-based, we implemented RPA.

What is most valuable?

The benefit of using Automation Anywhere is the efficiency of operations and speed. Humans cannot work 24/7 on a task, but a machine can work continuously on it. The solution saved us a lot of time on various processes. We needed fewer people to work on those processes, which resulted in cost savings. For every one bot, we were able to save the effort of one and a half STE.

What needs improvement?

There should be a way to avoid recoding everything whenever there's an upgrade to the latest version. A lot of finance applications do not support Automation Anywhere. Many ERPs and finance tools do not talk to Automation Anywhere directly. If there are any updates or changes on the UI, you have to recode everything, which used to be a big concern area.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for seven to eight years.

How was the initial setup?

We faced challenges while implementing the solution because we were probably among the first to do it in the R2R space. However, we were able to work through and overcome those challenges.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with Automation Anywhere.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution's pricing is pretty decent. We get good rates since we work with platinum partners.

What other advice do I have?

We have a development team, and our business users do not do the coding. I think it depends on how simplified your design is. We try to make things quite dynamic. If there is a matrix behind the automation that defines the rules, then the business users will handle that matrix.

However, the technical team will handle the coding of how that will translate into an RPA automation. We focus on the design to ensure that it doesn't get stuck.

AI is definitely the future, but it depends on how well you can integrate it with your processes. From a financial perspective, it is still evolving. I don't think anybody has cracked the code for end-to-end automation using artificial intelligence. However, we are using AI in bits and pieces and intend to expand on that.

I don't think we have integrations because Automation Anywhere works more on the UI. Essentially, you'll create a bot ID, which is a mirror of a human user ID. Any access that that human has is replicated to that bot. You don't necessarily need to integrate Automation Anywhere with your systems. It just sits in your VDI, and then it works like any human user would work.

Upgrading the solution was a challenge because it required a whole project and some coding.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

It saves us time and reduces the likelihood of errors, but it lacks some functionalities.
Pros and Cons
  • "Automation Anywhere can grow alongside our automation needs."
  • "Several competing products now offer superior functionality compared to Automation Anywhere's current capabilities."

What is our primary use case?

We have implemented Automation Anywhere for 2 finance use cases: recurring collections and payment forms processing. To achieve this, we leveraged the platform's invoice-tracking capability and built our bots around it.

We implemented Automation Anywhere to explore more automation possibilities.

How has it helped my organization?

We are happy with Automation Anywhere and the good experience it has provided. Automation Anywhere has successfully allowed us to implement our use cases.

We have identified several areas where we could potentially optimize the AI within our automation processes. However, the ultimate decision depends on the cost-effectiveness of automation. While we have a couple of significant use cases that seem well-suited for automation, others involve lower volumes that may not justify the investment. Currently, we're considering Microsoft's automation solutions due to their existing integration with our other Microsoft products. However, we might also explore Automation Anywhere for specific, complementary automation needs.

Someone with little automation experience can still create a bot using Automation Anywhere.

The learning curve of Automation Anywhere is adequate.

The time it takes to train someone to create a bot with Automation Anywhere depends on their existing technical background. For individuals with no prior technical experience, the learning process can take two to three months. However, if someone simply needs to become a casual user of a pre-built bot, a few weeks of training might be enough to get them comfortable navigating its features.

Automation Anywhere has significantly reduced our error rates, particularly in areas like allocating payment receipts and collections. Before implementing it, human error was a major issue. Automation Anywhere has effectively addressed this problem. Of course, reducing human involvement is a natural consequence of automation. However, a surprising benefit we've observed over the past two and a half years is that data quality has also improved significantly. Allocations have become much more accurate, which is an incredible advantage. Initially, the existing data was riddled with errors. Consequently, the automation rate was far lower than anticipated. However, as we progressively corrected the database, the automation rate steadily climbed, and error rates began to decline. It took roughly six to eight months to see the benefits.

Our organization has a defined AI automation strategy. We recognize its importance and have prioritized its development over the next two to three years. This focus on AI, particularly in customer service, will help us gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

Automation Anywhere is integrated with our ERP, human portals, supplier portal, and CRM.

Automation Anywhere has been instrumental in saving us both time and money. It serves as a core strategy in our efforts to streamline operations and reduce our reliance on manual labor. This has allowed us to handle multiple workloads with increased stability. We are committed to continuing on this path of automation to further optimize our processes.

What needs improvement?

While we initially implemented Automation Anywhere due to its inherent strengths, the software landscape has evolved significantly in the past two and a half years. Several competing products now offer superior functionality compared to Automation Anywhere's current capabilities. Microsoft's automation solutions are particularly compelling. They integrate seamlessly with the wider Microsoft product suite, which is often the core software environment for many businesses. This integration advantage isn't present with Automation Anywhere, which operates independently of Microsoft products.

The price has room for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for 2.5 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere is known for its scalability. This means that financial institutions can leverage it to automate large processes without worrying about the platform's ability to handle the increased workload. In simpler terms, Automation Anywhere can grow alongside our automation needs.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In the past, we relied on other automation applications. However, these applications lacked the flexibility and adaptability of a bot.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment process was successful thanks to the contributions of the third-party implementation team.

The full deployment took eight months to complete.

What about the implementation team?

For the implementation, we leveraged a third-party vendor with expertise in Automation Anywhere.

What was our ROI?

The positive return on investment for Automation Anywhere is clear after two years of successfully automating a few business processes.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Automation Anywhere, once a competitively priced option in the RPA market, has seen a shift in its pricing strategy. Currently, it stands as one of the more expensive RPA tools available.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

In our evaluation of RPA tools, we've considered Microsoft Power Automate and UiPath. Automation Anywhere, while a strong contender, appears to have a steeper technical learning curve compared to the other two options.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere six out of ten.

We rely on an external company to handle the maintenance of our Automation Anywhere software.

Companies considering an Automation Anywhere solution should approach it with a long-term perspective. Ideally, they should be prepared for a ten-year commitment. This allows them to understand how the product will evolve and adapt over time. A ten-year timeframe, or at least eight years, provides a significant advantage compared to a two to three-year outlook. By taking a long view, companies can ensure they are well-positioned to benefit from the ongoing development and reshaping of the Automation Anywhere platform.

It is compatible with most platforms, integrates well, and is maintenance free on our end.
Pros and Cons
  • "By implementing processes using Automation Anywhere, we can save up to 3,000 euros within two weeks of development."
  • "The help Automation Anywhere offers during setup isn't great for smaller companies like ours."

What is our primary use case?

In the retail industry where I work, we need to track our working hours every Sunday. This is because some Sundays have work restrictions in our country, with exceptions. We record these hours to ensure our national system can verify the accuracy of our payroll.

For example, we use Automation Anywhere to automate tasks. It takes changes from an Excel spreadsheet and updates two different systems. Another process involves checking discrepancies between the quantity of items received and those paid for. For our back-office bonus processing, we use automation for transactions in our ERP system, ensuring all necessary data is entered.

We implemented Automation Anywhere to reduce the amount of manual operational work currently required in our company. This decision comes as we are experiencing significant growth, with new stores opening and a corresponding increase in back-office workload. Additionally, Automation Anywhere will help us improve data quality and minimize errors, ultimately reducing costs.

How has it helped my organization?

Since implementing Automation Anywhere, our processes are much better documented. Previously, we lacked process documentation in our company. Now, not only do we have it, but it's also created quickly and accurately. Additionally, we have more control over logs. This means if a robot encounters an issue, it can automatically escalate the task to the responsible individuals. Furthermore, we now benefit from reporting capabilities that were previously unavailable.

There are three scenarios where AI could significantly improve our efficiency. Firstly, we deal with weekly discounts. We offer reduced prices on certain items and advertise them in flyers. Unfortunately, sometimes the printed flyer prices don't match the prices in the original digital tables. This inconsistency is problematic because our stores operate independently, carrying different products and offering varying discounts based on location. Consequently, we create multiple flyer versions for different cities. Currently, this process is entirely manual. Back-office staff print the flyers and then meticulously compare prices with the digital tables. We believe artificial intelligence coupled with advanced OCR could automate price verification on flyers before printing. AI could analyze the flyer images or scans and ensure they match the original data. Secondly, we encounter discrepancies between product names in vendor data and the names we use internally. AI could streamline this process by matching equivalent products and eliminating the need for manual data entry.

Automation Anywhere offers an academy that is helpful for non-technical users to learn the platform. Learning the basics typically takes up to three months.

We implemented Automation Anywhere about a month ago and developed a comprehensive solution for our office. We've already observed a significant increase in satisfaction among back-office workers who previously performed these tasks manually. Automation Anywhere has freed them from repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on more strategic activities like report oversight. Management is also very pleased with the results, rating their satisfaction at eight out of ten. Additionally, Automation Anywhere has helped us improve both speed and accuracy by significantly reducing errors in this process.

In the first year of implementation, we have identified 20-30 processes that could benefit from automation to help us manage our growing volume of office tasks. We are considering incorporating AI as early as this year-end, depending on the success of our current implementation and any unforeseen challenges. Additionally, we see potential in generative AI to improve efficiency for both our clients and back-office staff. We've identified ten HR processes in particular that could be streamlined with this technology.

We have integrated several internally developed HR applications with Automation Anywhere to manage timesheets and vacation planning, and also integrated retail applications for checking product quantities.

I've been using Automation Anywhere for a few years now, and it's addressed most of the issues we had with previous versions. It runs smoothly, especially since our company uses Google Workspace. Overall, I've had a positive experience with Automation Anywhere. It's worked well for me, and I haven't encountered any problems so far. In the past, I also used Microsoft Workspace, and Automation Anywhere functioned well with that too. In my experience, it seems to be compatible with most platforms.

Automation Anywhere has helped save us costs and almost 40 hours per week.

What is most valuable?

In terms of development, we've been relying on the provided operations so far. However, I haven't yet explored Copilot for the discovery phase. I believe it could be a very helpful tool for us moving forward, and I think it's a great feature.

What needs improvement?

The help Automation Anywhere offers during setup isn't great for smaller companies like ours. It could be improved.

Many users in my country lack, for example, advanced Excel skills. This makes using Automation Anywhere a significant challenge for them.

The Automation Anywhere community doesn't seem very active. Additionally, navigating their site can be quite difficult when encountering problems. As a developer and engineer, I found it challenging to locate information. Support could also be improved. For example, I had trouble connecting my Google account, and finding help was nearly impossible.

In terms of variable initialization, I prefer the previous enterprise version. It was simpler and required less code. Object access could also be improved in the current version. Ideally, there would be an easier and more precise way to retrieve objects.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere does a good job of providing automation at scale.

How are customer service and support?

It is difficult to get proper help from the technical support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

Deploying cloud solutions can be relatively straightforward. Therefore, I don't anticipate the initial deployment of Automation Anywhere being particularly complex. It seems the Automation Anywhere salespeople provided excellent information to facilitate the implementation process. In total, three people were involved in the deployment.

What was our ROI?

By implementing processes using Automation Anywhere, we can save up to 3,000 euros within two weeks of development.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is fair and allows for scalability. This means we only pay for what we need, and if our needs increase, we can easily upgrade our plan.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Upon joining the organization, I discovered they were already using Automation Anywhere. However, before implementing this solution, they had evaluated UiPath, Blue Prism, and Microsoft Power Automate. Ultimately, Automation Anywhere won them over due to its competitive pricing, fast implementation speed, and responsive support.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere nine out of ten.

Understanding the trade-offs between different solutions can be challenging for higher management. While some local RPA solutions offer free or cheap services initially, they may not be as efficient, especially as automation needs grow. It can be difficult to explain to the board that maintaining such solutions becomes increasingly complex as automation demands increase. Additionally, limited vendor support during implementation can be another hurdle.

Upgrading the solution is easy because it is cloud-based so it is all done by Automation Anywhere's people.

Currently, three departments are contributing to the development of automation solutions. We anticipate even more involvement this year. On the personnel side, ten individuals are currently involved in developing Automation Anywhere. Additionally, two people utilize the tool – one developer and one business user. We are experiencing a growth phase and are actively hiring additional staff to develop new processes.

Since it's a cloud solution, maintenance is handled by Automation Anywhere. Our team maintains the custom software and processes we've developed.

I recommend Automation Anywhere, but before implementing it, every user should first identify the processes they have that are suitable for automation. Be critical and optimize everything that can be streamlined without RPA. This is important because automation requires well-defined tasks to plan resource allocation effectively. When nominating a process for automation, evaluate the time it currently takes for a human to complete it. For example, a four-hour manual process won't become instantaneous with RPA, but it will certainly be faster. The goal is to understand the time savings and resource allocation needed for the robot. This includes determining how frequently the robot should run and on what schedule.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Improves our service and helps us streamline administrative tasks for our financial professionals and employees
Pros and Cons
  • "We've had many sit-down conversations with the Automation Anywhere team when we were testing out the document automation. We gave them feedback about potential enhancements, so when we launched our most recent document automation use case, the capabilities were already there. We didn't need to come up with a workaround or put the project on hold because the things we needed were unavailable. That commitment to customer success stands out because they know that without us, the product won't succeed."
  • "I would also like to see better communication with their customer success teams. It often takes longer than expected when we submit requests for help or come across a problem we want to resolve. While I can appreciate that it sometimes takes a while to get the appropriate answer, it would be nice to be in constant communication about where they are in the process."

What is our primary use case?

Automation Anywhere is used to elevate the customer experience for our financial advisors. We aim to improve our interactions with them in terms of their requests for updates to their banking instructions or anything else related to their accounts.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation Anywhere has helped us improve our service. Our financial service professionals gave us some feedback that they are spending a lot of time calling our home office to check on the status of requests and doing other things that I would describe as administrative activities. That takes some time that would be better spent building their businesses and growing their relationships with their clients. It allows us to automate and streamline those administrative tasks for our financial professionals and employees.

We did everything manually before we implemented Automation Anywhere. When a financial advisor initiated a request, someone had to input that information into the appropriate record system and communicate with the advisor to update them on the status. Someone needed to follow up on the request and ensure it was completed.

Automation Anywhere has challenged us to rethink the art of the possible. We're still considering how to leverage AI. Our attitude toward AI is evolving, but we know that it's something we must address. We believe that a delay in adopting could have an exponential effect on our ability to compete and remain among the industry leaders. We are evaluating a few use cases. In particular, we see content and knowledge management as a huge opportunity. We're exploring ways to leverage documentation and natural language processing to quickly process the information and take the appropriate action.

What is most valuable?

We have the unattended bots running in our environment and recently launched our first document automation use case. We are also excited about the automation copilot. These use cases are crucial in the wealth management industry, which is paper-intensive, so it's essential to leverage automation for document-focused tasks. Co-pilot allows us to streamline that process while improving the accuracy of the information entering the system record and ensuring efficiency.

The unattended bots are working behind the scenes so that employees don't need to do work that they had done previously. Our tests of the document automation and copilot features have received a positive initial response.  Employees like the UI and how it brings out the information for them to validate.

We've integrated Automation Anywhere with our internal homegrown systems and a couple of third-party applications through APIs and UI interactions. The integration has been smooth, especially from an API perspective. We can quickly pull together API endpoints for our development and leverage APIs from third parties. It's been pretty easy to bring it all together using some basic Python coding. We spend more time ensuring we have the correct information from the API owner, so we get the right connections.

What needs improvement?

From the product side, I like the minimum viable product approach, where the first generation of a new product is released and tested in the market, but it would be great if some of those pieces were a little bit more thought out from a user experience perspective. They could take a little more time to get some insights from their customers like in a beta test or something like that.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have used Automation Anywhere for the last 15 months.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Automation Anywhere's ability to automate at scale is very impressive based on what I've seen internally and heard from subject matter experts. We're starting to see what we can do with it. When we developed a rudimentary proof of concept with co-pilot coupled with document automation, it was eye-opening for our leaders and stakeholders to see how versatile and accurate it was.

How are customer service and support?

I rate Automation Anywhere support seven out of 10. I would also like to see better communication with their customer success teams. It often takes longer than expected when we submit requests for help or come across a problem we want to resolve. While I can appreciate that it sometimes takes a while to get the appropriate answer, it would be nice to be in constant communication about where they are in the process.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

Deploying Automation Anywhere was relatively easy. We implemented our first bot last year as a proof of concept. We tried various things to give us a bit of a different flavor. Whether we're using an API, UI, or doing a physical task within a third-party application. Our first bot took 10 weeks to deploy, and the rest took between eight to 10 weeks. The development time is about half of that. Most of our use cases were simple, but it took time to coordinate with various teams, like infrastructure, security team, risk management, and other IT departments.

My role is in the center of excellence. We're on the business side, not the IT side. The company is a little different in how it sets up its CoE programs. We focus on business processes and engineering. I rely on our technology and security partners for those other pieces. There's a little bit of trial and error. We have to think of security first and foremost. We're protecting our data and our client's data.

We needed to figure out how it fits into our ecosystem because we had never done it before. We needed to set up virtual desktops, servers, and those sorts of things. We needed to create an Active Directory account for our robots to interact, receive email, use Excel, etc. Early on, we had to learn the nuances because we would need to replicate the processes going forward. We created some reusable runbooks and IDs to set access to the system with different privileges for employees and contractors.

There is some maintenance for bots that utilize UIs, but not those that use APIs. We face more challenges when working with third-party applications because they have scheduled updates. If the bot is scheduled to run on Thursday at 2 pm, but suddenly, a pop-up window appears to run the update. We've mitigated a lot of that. If we don't have APIs, those use cases require a little bit more handholding.

What about the implementation team?

We leveraged a consulting firm to partner with us on that proof of concept. They brought expertise and ensured we were set up for success. They helped us configure our control room and enabled us to perfect the concepts, so we could see the results and realize how successful we could be with Automation Anywhere's product.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We looked at some other solutions initially, but one of our sister firms was already an Automation Anywhere customer, and they gave the solution glowing reviews. We saw how successful they had been in leveraging Automation Anywhere's platform, so it made the decision easy for us.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Automation Anywhere nine out of 10. They're passionate about the product and want to see us succeed as customers. They will go to bat and contact the engineers to help us achieve what we want. We have on-site visits with them and business reviews where they will talk about our roadmap and potential use cases.

We've had many sit-down conversations with the Automation Anywhere team when we were testing out the document automation. We gave them feedback about potential enhancements, so when we launched our most recent document automation use case, the capabilities were already there. We didn't need to come up with a workaround or put the project on hold because the things we needed were unavailable. That commitment to customer success stands out because they know that without us, the product won't succeed.

Easy to implement and integrate with workflows, APIs, and applications
Pros and Cons
  • "They can build an end-to-end solution with Automation Anywhere."
  • "Automation Anywhere is headed in the right direction but they still have a good way to go."

What is our primary use case?

We mainly use Automation Anywhere for pod development, to automate repetitive tasks by replicating them into bots. We conduct tests and POCs with other tools that Automation Anywhere offers. We try to see what's the best fit for our company. Because of the large offering of different tools, we see how we can leverage them and identify if they are the best solution for our teams. Mainly, we use Automation Anywhere for RPA bots for automation.

We wanted a tool that was easy to use and to implement, that we could leverage to then do the applications, and it was quick enough in our trial that we could just take our opportunity, design, and develop the requirements, and then build the solution from there and help the business with tasks that didn't add value to their processes.

How has it helped my organization?

We currently are looking at different use cases for AI such as document automation, process automation, product automation, communication, and many others. So we are looking at different platforms, including Automation Anywhere. Now that Automation Anywhere is offering the AI capability we want to see how we can best feed to our company and leverage AI to help us implement processes, and projects faster and automate processes in a way that will help our business.

When it comes to generative AI, the technology is here, and it's open to people to use. We wanna make sure that we leverage fully, to continue being a leader in the market. Generative AI is here to stay. We wanna make sure that we get the best use of it while maintaining quality and transparency, and making sure that we have all the security in place to leverage generative AI.

I did not have a technical background and I was able to build my first bot using Automation Anywhere after just one course. The learning curve is simple. Automation Anywhere has prebuilt blocks so we don't have to code. It is user-friendly and simply a matter of understanding best practices because we can build blocks and create with 50 steps, but we can also create with five steps if we are using best practices. When we start using the solution we look at different ways to approach the same problem and best practices so it gets better. It is a straightforward and user-friendly platform to start our journey with RPA and automation.

We are trying to start using Automation Co-Pilot but we have not fully deployed it yet because we are still trying to create the connectors. We do see the value of Automation Co-Pilot for our business. We want to be able to add humans into the loop and trigger bots. This way businesses can review the processes and even make changes. It is a better interface with fewer clicks and added value for the business user.

We touch every application in our business with Automation Anywhere. We connect to some using APIs and others through the UI depending on the applicability of the solution we are building.

Automation Anywhere is easy to implement and integrate with workflows, APIs, and applications.

We do have savings with Automation Anywhere. When we implement, we look at how much time we are saving the person and how much we can save by reducing the repetitive manual work for a business user. We have a good amount of bots that we have developed that help save the business time.

What is most valuable?

Even though we haven't used all of their features for some of our use cases, because they look at the end-to-end process, it's very useful for businesses that are starting their journey. They can build an end-to-end solution with Automation Anywhere. In our case, we leverage the automation RPA solution, but we do see other use cases to leverage other tools and applications that they prefer.

What needs improvement?

My background lies in continuous improvement, and as a black belt, I think we always have the opportunity to improve. Automation Anywhere is always looking for what is next. Even though they may have implemented something today, they are still looking at what can help our clients in the future. That is a great way to have the right offerings for clients and more of an opportunity to build a bigger community on the automation group and leverage that with the lessons learned and the challenges. Automation Anywhere is headed in the right direction but they still have a good way to go.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for one year.

How are customer service and support?

I appreciate the technical support of Automation Anywhere. They are knowledgeable, senior, and jump to help us find the right solution and assess from our business case what would be the best way to approach it.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere eight out of ten. It is a great tool that is easy to implement and they are always looking for what is next.

The time it takes to learn Automation Anywhere depends on what the user wants to do with it. Do they want to be a developer, a business analyst, or help businesses understand processes and identify opportunities? If a person has a good understanding of processes it can take anywhere from a few months to a few years. For a developer, it can take a bit longer.

When we analyze a problem, we consider the most effective solution, which may not always be automation or RPA. We employ other tools when appropriate, but Automation Anywhere is frequently used in our process improvements.

When there is a version change we have to conduct maintenance. It is a fair amount of time but not so much that it would impact the quality of our services.

We have a group of close to ten people who have a relationship with Automation Anywhere and deal with the maintenance.

We have a bot support group for our full portfolio because we have attended and unattended bots. This group supports the bots 24/7.

With generative AI we can create test scenarios and test data more accurately
Pros and Cons
  • "Other products are more low-code, whereas Automation Anywhere is no-code making it easier to learn and user-friendly."
  • "Automation Anywhere can improve process mining."

What is our primary use case?

We teach Automation Anywhere to people with refugee backgrounds. It is cutting-edge technology that requires no code which makes it easy to learn and earn. This has given them greater opportunities for job inclusion.

We also use Automation Anywhere in-house in collaboration with other corporations in our Social Impact office to create curriculum and scholarship programs for people with refugee backgrounds. We train them and we do projects where they can test automation delivery for Automation Anywhere's new features. They can learn quality assurance and delivery. This way they are well trained and can provide test automation services for other companies.

The reason we implement Automation Anywhere is two-sided. For refugees, it is about evolving their skills and digital career development. For corporations, they want to utilize automation with generative AI so they can do both automation and analytics at the same time which increases their productivity even for test automation.

How has it helped my organization?

Automation Anywhere changes everything drastically. Testing software takes long hours, but with Automation Anywhere we can do it within seconds. With generative AI we can create test scenarios and test data more accurately. There are a lot of changes going on.

We get a lot of requests related to documents. We can use automation, OCR, and generative AI. OCR works like eyes where we scan documents and we can use the data with automation to let the AI read it. The AI functions as the brain. Many retail companies have import and export departments dealing with many papers. They can automate them using OCR, generative AI, and automation.

The most popular programming language is now English. It has expanded the digital population. Everyone can use generative AI with just natural languages and people can focus more on local technology to handle that AI. Automation Anywhere together with generative AI is great because it is easy to use and automate.

Automation Anywhere did a lot for us. Neeti Mehta who is one of the co-founders of Automation Anywhere believes in our purpose. Everyone deserves a second chance. The number of refugees on Earth is now one hundred million people. This means that every second another human is being forcibly displaced. These people need another chance. Automation Anywhere is used by corporations and governments. People are looking for a solution that works well with generative AI and Automation Anywhere is the best solution for that. Automation Anywhere accelerates the productivity of humanity and at the same time creates inclusive job opportunities for refugees.

Automation Anywhere is super easy to use for people who don't have technical skills. Our people with refugee backgrounds didn't have IT knowledge but now they have the talents to professionally provide automation technology for corporations. It is really easy to use.

We train our refugee talent professionally, so it takes about three months to learn. Professional coding training usually takes six months. The learning curve for Automation Anywhere is shorter for our people. Our members deliver projects to teach other employees in large companies. This doesn't take three months because we provide workshops to learn bot creation and they work together to create their first bot within two weeks. It is really easy.

We started using Automation Co-Pilot around two months ago and it has helped increase everyone's productivity.

I anticipate that Automation Co-Pilot will help save us and our customers time and money, not just because we can automate our tasks but also because we can do many analytics that we couldn't do without Automation Anywhere. It is about how to enable value-add work that we can't do without automation technology. It is not just about saving time but also about advanced analytics.

Automation Anywhere is one of the best companies for automation technology and we invest a lot in integration with other systems. We have many requests from other companies but Automation Anywhere goes well with most of the systems.

Automation Anywhere has saved us and other organizations who care about social impact a lot of time and money. As an estimation, Automation Anywhere is about 60 times faster than a human. The time spent goes from one hour down to one second when we use Automation Anywhere.

What needs improvement?

Automation Anywhere can improve process mining. Many people have started using generative AI. There are many types and many systems. People are reshaping their operational flows and with a process mining system, we can visualize what we are doing with generative AI and easily spot where automation can be used to improve productivity.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Automation Anywhere for three years.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other automation products and find Automation Anywhere to be easier to learn and use. Other products are more low-code, whereas Automation Anywhere is no-code making it easier to learn and user-friendly. It is also cloud-based making it more portable and easier to integrate with many cloud systems.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment is easy. We are not implementing huge ERPs, but rather automation technology so it is easier than traditional huge systems. It is more flexible and we can use it to automate any task we desire.

The time it takes to deploy depends on the tasks. When automating critical operations we need to be careful in the assessment but it should not take more than six months to complete. We can complete an easy deployment in two weeks.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am working on the democratization of DX. I teach refugees digital skills and then our members accelerate DX of society by teaching other people digital skills. Automation Anywhere is easy to learn. The metrics we focus on when evaluating products are the learning curve and how much the product is used in the market in different countries. Automation Anywhere is used in many countries and we can support many global corporations.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Automation Anywhere ten out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
