What is our primary use case?
My main use cases for
Dell Enterprise Laptops are related to what they are currently selling now, and we got a great price on them.
On a day-to-day basis, I do cybersecurity, so my whole task is to monitor the entire network, all the computers, the EDRs, MDRs. I make sure no bad things are trying to happen.
What is most valuable?
The feature of
Dell Enterprise Laptops I like the most is the touchscreen.
I prefer the touchscreen because I dislike the trackpad. The touchscreen is a good way to go.
There have been so many improvements—speed, reliability, battery life. It gets better every year with the new release that they make.
What needs improvement?
At the moment, probably nothing can be improved about Dell Enterprise Laptops. The weight and size are pretty good for what we use them for, though a better warranty instead of having to buy an extended three-year warranty would be beneficial.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for roughly 20 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability and reliability of the newer ones are great, but the older ones have typical wear and tear issues; nothing out of the ordinary, so far, it's satisfactory.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Dell Enterprise Laptops scale to the growing needs of my company about an eight out of ten; it does the job.
How are customer service and support?
I evaluate Dell Enterprise Laptops customer service and technical support, and tech support is a whole other issue. The tests they make you do for a simple issue are frustrating; you understand what the problem is, but you have to do their testing. Other than that, I have no issues.
From one to ten, I would rate the support about a six or seven, because if I didn't have to do all the unnecessary things they want me to do and they just sent me what I need to fix it, I would give it a ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have considered other laptops before choosing Dell Enterprise Laptops; we've tried a few and just come back to Dell Enterprise Laptops for the pricing that we get.
How was the initial setup?
I would describe my experience with the deployment of Dell Enterprise Laptops as simple, with relatively no pain. I just unbox them, light them up, and they're good to go.
What was our ROI?
The biggest return on investment for me when using Dell Enterprise Laptops is the support. Every time there's an issue, a tech is on-site and fixes it. We're good to go the next day or two.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been relatively easy, smooth, with no issues.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated other CPU vendors, including AMD.
The performance of Intel stood out to me, which is why we stay with Intel. It's the best bang for the buck, pretty much, as an overall purchase.
Choosing Intel is an easy decision; we just go straight for the Intel. It's the best bang for the buck, and we get the performance we need with no issues and no complaints.
What other advice do I have?
My advice to other companies that are considering buying Dell Enterprise Laptops is to focus on price, warranties, and support.
Regarding positive aspects, my recommendation is to follow their model; they are doing it right.
I have rated this review a 9 out of 10.
Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.
