We use UiPath to create automation for our clients. The best use cases are the ones where we automate an old system. We had instances where we migrated one customer's data over to another. Until that migration occurred to the new system, we could get an automated solution using the old system.
RPA UiPath Developer at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
An easy-to-deploy solution that saves time and money and enables users to build automation easily
Pros and Cons
- "The user interface guide helps speed up automation development for customers."
- "The tool has some bugs, and it doesn’t respond sometimes."
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
The product provides better customer service and builds better customer relationships. Customers receive statuses and reports in a timely manner. Instead of somebody constantly sending out emails to customers, automation is doing it for us.
What is most valuable?
I was doing automation development before UiPath and did everything typically by code. It had its own functionalities. However, when navigating older systems, we can use the solution's user interface to tell the cursor to go to a specific location on a screen. Another functionality also supported by the product is the ability to select the selectors, where we can define a specific attribute to a button and ensure the cursor clicks it. The user interface guide helps speed up automation development for customers. We can also use background code, so we have coding capabilities and a user interface to navigate some of the older systems.
What needs improvement?
UiPath provides Cloud Robots functionality but they should provide more Cloud Robot integrations. I feel that Cloud Robots must have a very, very strong integration with AWS or some type of cloud service where that integration is almost seamless.
We use a lot of virtual machines. It would be nice if UiPath checks the virtual machines and ensures they perform well. We have run into some performance issues. The product must have better performance checks to determine whether a virtual machine fits the functionality or if something is missing. It would be great to know if we will run into some issues. We will be able to think ahead of it.

For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for more than three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The tool has some bugs, and it doesn’t respond sometimes. However, it’s no more unstable than Windows. It is fairly stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We’re new to the tool. Around five people are using it in our department. The product must improve its scalability. Our security team hasn't approved the Cloud Robots functionality in some cases. I've noticed that our time gap is getting smaller, and we may need additional virtual environments. That is why I wanted better integration with the cloud. It will allow us to be able to launch virtual environments immediately. We would love it if the product could provide the same scalability that AWS provides. We would love the same type of scalability when integrating cloud functionalities with UiPath. If it needs another environment, another environment must shoot up right away so that we can immediately start working on it.
How are customer service and support?
I haven't used the technical support. When we contacted the other department connected to technical support, we got responses and workarounds within a few days. The support has been decent. The team replies pretty quickly.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is deployed on the cloud. The deployment was straightforward. The deployment was pretty quick. It was done within a few minutes. For my current organization, we need one person to deploy the product. My organization has multiple departments, but I only operate on one.
What about the implementation team?
The solution does require maintenance. While dealing with our websites, some changes or updates are done, and then we make changes to the code.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I chose UiPath because it offered UiPath Community, where I could learn UiPath on my own without a business license. I like the idea that there's community support for UiPath. We can learn and teach ourselves. I like UiPath Enterprise, too. Since they have a community version, it makes learning UiPath much better and easier.
What other advice do I have?
Building automation using the product is pretty easy. Over time, we get better and better through experience and create it more efficiently. Some of the additional functionality released by UiPath helps us enhance our automation. The solution speeds up digital transformation. We transitioned to a brand-new system. As we transitioned, we spent a lot of money on this new system and found there were limitations to the system. We used UiPath to mitigate that cost tremendously.
UiPath enables companies to implement end-to-end automation. Currently, we do not have end-to-end automation. Our company is going through a strong transformation. The processes are still a bit archaic. We use digital transformation to help us do our jobs first. Eventually, this will lead to automating new processes rather than someone else doing it. A bot doing 24/7 automation is better than someone assigned to do it 24/7.
We are not using the product's AI functionality yet. However, we are looking into incorporating AI functionality. The product has freed up a lot of employee time. The solution has saved us more than $ 400 a month in the current project. The solution has reduced human error. A lot of the work that the bots do is tedious, like sending a hundred emails to customers or consolidating reports from five different sources. Mistakes can happen in these processes. The solution has reduced human error in our organization by at least 80%.
I have used UiPath Academy courses. We have also provided our business personnel with the courses so they can see it from the business side to learn UiPath. I like the user community. There are a lot of forums where people post questions and help each other. There are YouTube videos where people share their experiences with certain issues. The community is strong.
The massive improvement from DBA to RPA is the user interface interactions. UiPath has a free community version. I would recommend the solution to others. I've taken training on Automation Anywhere, but I've never been able to touch it because my previous organization decided to keep it only in one department, and our department never received it. I could never use what I studied in Automation Anywhere because it requires business licensing. There was no community version. On the other hand, we can start working on Uipath on our personal computers. We can also use UiPath Academy.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

RPA DEVELOPER at a retailer with 10,001+ employees
Can be used to perform financial activities like invoice generation without human intervention
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature of UiPath is the complete queue system-based framework because it is robust for all clients."
- "The OCR is the only area where I expect a little flexibility and improvement."
What is our primary use case?
My current retail organization uses UiPath for finance-related activities like invoice generation. We also use the solution for pulling documents from any stored devices for customers. We save customer files like licenses, invoices, and other tax-related documents in the box. If customers want to use such files for any purpose, we need to extract them from the box environment. A bot will check for that particular customer-specific file, download it, and save it in client-shared locations.
Transactional details regarding whether a customer has delayed an EMI or paid the EMI on time will be updated in the system. A bot we defined using UiPath will do it around the clock without any human effort.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature of UiPath is the complete queue system-based framework because it is robust for all clients. If something goes wrong, we can define how many retries we can do for a particular request. In the next attempt, it can be achieved in a proper way.
The end users can expect the results without any manual intervention. This framework is very user-friendly, convenient for the developers or system integrators, and satisfies the client compared to other frameworks.
What needs improvement?
I would like to see more clarity in the solution's AI functionality. I have not completely implemented AI for our client. I'm trying to understand the areas in which AI will be more usable for my client.
The OCR is the only area where I expect a little flexibility and improvement. If you try to extract scanned documents or photos using any native or Google OCR, you won't get 100% accuracy.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
UiPath is a stable solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
UiPath is a scalable solution. UiPath is deployed in one location with around 5,000 end users using the solution.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I also have more than four years of experience with the Blue Prism tool.
The only major difference between UiPath and Blue Prism is that UiPath is deployed in the cloud, and now Blue Prism is trying to be deployed in the cloud. Other than that, I did not observe any differences between the two solutions. Both are good products in the market, and customers are happy with both solutions.
How was the initial setup?
UiPath's initial setup is easy.
What about the implementation team?
Around two people are needed for the solution's deployment and maintenance.
What was our ROI?
Our customers have seen a return on investment with UiPath and are happy with the licenses, pricing, etc. They haven't raised any concerns so far, and they're increasing the licenses based on the processes we are deploying.
What other advice do I have?
I'm a system integrator and one of the lead developers of UiPath for the end customers.
I use UiPath in the banking and retail industry.
UiPath is deployed on the Oracle cloud.
I would recommend UiPath to other users. The users need to configure the environment in a better way. If an organization wants to utilize only four or six bots, it needs to plan ahead and consider how big it plans to grow in the next five years. Planning in advance would clarify how the organization needs to configure the environment and what challenges it needs to handle. That's a better way to start using UiPath as an RPA tool.
Even before the deployment, we gave an estimation to the end clients regarding what to expect after deploying the solution. We told them about the things they will be very comfortable with and the time interval they will take to know things. They are comfortable and 100% satisfied with the solution.
Overall, I rate UiPath a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

UiPath Solution Architect at a computer software company with 1,001-5,000 employees
Reduces our physical infrastructure needs by eliminating server management, maintenance, and database backups that are handled by the cloud provider
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable features of UiPath are the user-friendly UI and manageable learning curve."
- "I've submitted feedback to UiPath, including a suggestion to improve the slow mainframe connection currently limited to a 300ms timeout."
What is our primary use case?
Our UiPath automations primarily focus on web applications but also include tasks like extracting data from Excel for queuing, automating transactional processes and desktop applications, and even populating CRM and ERP systems with data extracted from PDFs.
How has it helped my organization?
The recording feature allows us to capture a manual process as a starting point for automation. We can then customize the recording based on the specific transaction, including how often variables need to be initialized and whether data needs to be passed between workflows. This way, the recording serves as a foundation to automate the core functionality and build new processes within the framework.
UiPath offers end-to-end automation for many applications, but I encountered challenges with NetSuite, an ERP web app. The connection kept failing due to NetSuite's slow loading times. While UiPath has built-in connectors for these situations, the lag prevented interaction with the NetSuite interface entirely.
The UiPath user community is a large and active resource for users of all levels. With community pages dedicated to specific countries, users can easily find information relevant to their needs. The community fosters knowledge sharing and learning, allowing users to stay up-to-date on the latest UiPath features. Beyond traditional documentation, users can access demos and connect with motivated developers to enhance their skills.
UiPath, a market leader in automation solutions, comes with a higher price tag due to its wider range of features. However, the return on investment takes time as initial costs cover development team setup and licenses. It can take between six months to a year to determine if the number of automated processes justifies the cost savings for our customers.
UiPath reduces our physical infrastructure needs by eliminating server management, maintenance, and database backups that are handled by the cloud provider. On-premises deployments require a disaster recovery plan for database backups and regular data maintenance to prevent performance issues, which are burdens eliminated by cloud-based UiPath.
I honed my skills through UiPath Academy courses. Their learning portal proved valuable for exploring new features and pursuing certifications.
UiPath is a helpful tool for digital transformation, but its applications vary depending on an organization's needs. While many companies focus on automating tasks with PDFs like purchase orders or legal documents, UiPath can also handle images and perform sentiment analysis. Processing large, complex documents can be challenging manually, but UiPath can convert them into digital formats and quickly extract the necessary information, saving significant time. For example, a telecommunications client used UiPath to classify images from cell towers, while another client in the legal field used it to analyze contracts and identify key details like timelines and disputes. This eliminates the need for manual processing of large volumes of documents.
UiPath helps minimize human errors by automating tasks. It even allows us to create extensions in plain English. For instance, instead of writing complex code to find a phone number in a document, we could say "Fetch phone number" and UiPath would generate the necessary code for us. This makes automation development more accessible, even for those without extensive coding knowledge.
UiPath helped our clients save money by automating tasks. This meant they could reduce the number of employees needed. For example, a repetitive four-hour daily task could be eliminated. In a large call center with 100 employees, automation might reduce staffing to 20, saving the company the cost of 80 FTEs. This approach has been used in many industries, including airlines where manual searches in contact centers were significantly reduced.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable features of UiPath are the user-friendly UI and manageable learning curve. Their Academy offers valuable courses, and they keep users informed with clear communication and updated documentation whenever new features are released.
What needs improvement?
I've submitted feedback to UiPath, including a suggestion to improve the slow mainframe connection currently limited to a 300ms timeout. Focusing on the connector would be a user-preferred approach, allowing interaction with applications like ServiceNow, SAP, or Salesforce and future ones like Dynamics 365 or ERPs through activities instead of custom code. This reduces development time and reliance on technical expertise simplifies maintenance for future teams, and provides a user-friendly, reusable component.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for nine years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability of UiPath eight out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability of UiPath seven out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
I've encountered various issues with UiPath products, including activity connection problems that worked fine during development but not in production, occasional defects, and personal knowledge gaps. Sometimes these were bugs addressed in later patches or releases. To find solutions, I'd first search the UiPath forum for answers shared by other developers. If unsuccessful, I'd submit technical support tickets based on our UiPath service level. Responses came quickly, and for premium support, we could directly contact our technical account managers for immediate issue resolution.
We can expect an email response after submitting our ticket. Response times for standard support subscriptions range from one to two days, with issue resolution taking up to four days. Premium support offers immediate response and prioritizes issues based on the number of affected machines and their importance in our workflow.
How was the initial setup?
UiPath deployment is very manageable. With their cloud option, they handle everything and provide a URL for easy access. Even on-premise deployments are straightforward thanks to UiPath's clear documentation. While some IT team coordination is needed for on-premise security and Active Directory integration, the process is generally simple and can be done within a few days. Overall, cloud deployment is the easiest option, but on-premise is also achievable with good IT support.
UiPath deployment on the cloud is fast, but additional setup is needed for large organizations. While integrating with our existing IT directory keeps user creation a few hours, creating separate environments, machines, licenses, and folders can take a few days depending on the complexity of environments, machines, libraries, and use cases.
One admin person is sufficient for deployment from our end.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated Power Automate but UiPath has more features.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Uipath seven out of ten. UiPath's process mining feature, while desired by many users, appears to be limited in its current functionality. Since many haven't implemented it yet. UiPath still needs to refine this area.
UiPath does not require maintenance from our end when it is deployed in the cloud.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Enables faster process automation, reduces human error, and improves the quality of work
Pros and Cons
- "Robotic process automation is one of the most interesting features."
- "The product does not provide features for chatbot development."
What is our primary use case?
Unattended Automations are the best value from an RPA solution to an organization. It makes sure human employees are now more productive 95X. I am interested to expand the usage of UiPath to Agentic AI automation development.
How has it helped my organization?
I have seen a 70X improvement in employee productivity. However, due to some beauracratic and territorial challenges, we are unable to fully automate the processes. As a result, the technology team is spending more hours in production support rather than innovation and automation, Not the fault of UiPath, though.
What is most valuable?
Robotic process automation is one of the most interesting features. RPA allows us to automate what people do manually. It appeals to me from a technical and a business standpoint. I have heard of UiPath apps and I am afraid I haven't seen wide usage, mainly because it is available exclusively on the automation cloud and not on-premises installations. Data Services, Agentic AI development should be available on-premises, especially because most UiPath clients are large public sector organizations and they prefer on-premises.
What needs improvement?
I want UiPath Data Service to be expanded. It must include many more features as an online database. Many online databases like QuickBase and Force.com are 100 times better than UiPath Data Service. Not sure why UiPath is not adding such features to Data Service.
The product does not provide features for chatbot development. It is one of the reasons why people do not use UiPath because they have to use a different tool for chatbot development. Competitors like Microsoft have all process automation capabilities in their Power Platform. They have RPA, attended bots, unattended bots, application development, databases, and chatbots. UiPath has not gotten into chatbots for several years. They are doing many things except chatbots.
I express the need for chatbots in every insider event I attend. UiPath’s team says it will take it to the product management group. But nothing happens after that. I want a product for chatbot development from UiPath without having to purchase licenses from a third-party company.
The documentation needs a lot of work. The documentation is "boring". They just mention a feature and add one line about what it does. I wish the documentation had examples. The document should be associated with a video or sample code. The documentation is too minimal. People give many sample codes and links to their YouTube videos in the forum. The uipath forum is much richer than the documentation.
Further, as I mentioned above, on-premises should match the capabilities that are available on UiPath cloud, such as Agentic AI, Apps, Data Services and so on.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for the last eight years.
How are customer service and support?
UiPath provides support only when we have an Enterprise license. I have contacted support several times.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I use Microsoft Power Automate to develop chatbots because UiPath does not have such features. I have to buy extra licenses from Microsoft for chatbot development.
Although I can use UiPath Data Service's online database, creating forms and screens in it is hard. UiPath doesn't have some preliminary computation features for creating formula fields, so I use third-party tools like QuickBase.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I also evaluated Automation Anywhere, Microsoft Power Platform, and Pega Robotics.
What other advice do I have?
The ease of building automation depends on the developer, the size of the process that is being automated, how many applications there are, and how many systems there are. Compared to high-code environments, we can build the product much faster in a low-code environment.
Automation can be done ten times faster in a low-code environment than in a high-code environment due to the number of syntax errors that we have to encounter in a high-code environment. All these things are completely eliminated in a low-code environment. We drag and drop activities. It's like a prebuilt code. We just have to fill in the gaps. On average, the tool is five to ten times faster than other RPA platforms.
UiPath does not do digital transformation. It works more on process automation. However, it does contribute toward digital transformation. From the face of it, everything looks end-to-end. I have used AI Center to learn machine learning skills and build training datasets and evaluation datasets. I have developed ML skills and used them in bots. UiPath Academy has a whole set of courses on AI Center. I want to complete the courses diligently.
The solution has reduced human error and increased the speed and quality of our work. It reduces the time taken to get things done. I use UiPath Academy courses all the time. If we go to similar content on YouTube or Instagram and try to find videos, the information might be right or wrong. It depends on the experience of the person in the videos. The content in UiPath Academy is official. UiPath creates the videos. We can be assured that the information is correct and reliable.
There could be a lag between the product released and the videos on Academy. Sometimes, video creators on unofficial channels like YouTube and Instagram come out with videos faster than UiPath. However, UiPath's videos are complete, authentic, and reliable. I assume UiPath uses professional training software in the platform. The format of the courses is similar to those of The Wharton School.
The community is excellent. People help each other out. UiPath encourages users by welcoming new joiners, incentivizing answering questions, providing links to external or internal documentation, and celebrating anniversaries. The solution has a wide variety of topics that the forum members can take advantage of.
We can learn about Studio, different parts of the platform, and different functionalities. If we have a question, Google will show all the relevant links to UiPath with just a single word search. We usually find a good answer to our doubts in the forum eight out of ten times. I like the forum and encourage people to use it.
People looking to buy the solution must try it out. They must look into the documentation if they cannot do it with the tool. They must also visit UiPath's forum. The forum is more helpful than the documentation. UiPath also has a search facility to search for activities. They can also look for UiPath Marketplace. If we face bugs, we can go to the forum.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Offers flexibility to seamlessly automate diverse tasks and it can integrate with different sources to automate process
Pros and Cons
- "The document understanding feature is perhaps the most significant and useful use case for UiPath."
- "However, challenges arise when attempting to automate multiple VPN connections."
What is our primary use case?
One of the use cases I've worked on involved uploading a small book containing mathematical formulas, images, and other content to a website. We converted the book's introduction into an XML file and utilized UiPath to seamlessly upload all the information onto the publication website via a step-by-step process using notes.
Another use case involved generating reports by scraping data from specific websites, particularly in the banking sector. The information gathered from one website was then uploaded to another website. These automation tasks included handling schedules, duplicative tasks in Excel, and automating financial processes. This encompassed tasks such as fetching data from databases, manipulating the data, and updating the database accordingly. Furthermore, reports were generated and distributed to users both via email and Excel files.
The automation processes also extended to extracting data from various sources, such as PDFs, images, and tables, showcasing the versatility of the automation solutions implemented so far.
While we haven't incorporated AI or machine learning into our automation programs yet, I have acquired knowledge about these technologies through the Academy.
How has it helped my organization?
It empowers us to implement end-to-end automation, a crucial capability for our needs. Achieving full automation is pivotal, and building a process from start to finish ensures a comprehensive, 100% automated solution.
The UiPath user community is beneficial, especially when new features are introduced. For instance, with the recent addition of mail integration, the community provides valuable information. In cases where we encounter challenges using specific properties of activities in the APAC, the community forum becomes a reliable resource to discuss issues, seek solutions, and stay informed about various processes and functionalities.
It helped us in entirely minimizing our on-premises footprint.
I've seized learning opportunities through the UiPath Academy, where my initial learning journey began. I continue to rely on the Academy for various courses and continually update my knowledge.
It is expected to accelerate our digital transformation, enhancing the speed of various tasks over time. While I cannot provide insight into the cost implications, the positive impact on speed is noticeable when it comes to digital transformation efforts.
It has significantly minimized human errors, especially in tasks involving extensive document processing and repetitive jobs.
It has contributed to time savings for us. With the ability to automate the monitoring process for any website, we can now sit back and relax.
We have achieved cost savings by implementing automation. Utilizing automation allows us to streamline the tasks currently handled by multiple team members. With automation, we can allocate just one team member to monitor the automation board, resulting in reduced costs compared to the expenses incurred for seven individuals performing their specific tasks.
What is most valuable?
I find the pivot feature particularly noteworthy as it enables seamless connection to any source system, allowing for data retrieval from diverse sources. Whether dealing with conventional or unique source systems, UiPath's pivot feature empowers us to connect, extract data, and efficiently integrate it into the system. Additionally, I've been impressed by the task mining and task capture functionalities. This feature provides insights into the entire process, making it a compelling addition. The document understanding feature is perhaps the most significant and useful use case for UiPath. It allows for extracting data from both structured and unstructured formats, providing versatility in handling various document structures.
Creating automation with UiPath is straightforward, whether you're building them or simply learning how to use the tool. It offers a trial version that's accessible for two years, making it convenient for anyone looking to learn and apply the platform. The simplicity extends to the process itself; setting up conditions and building automation becomes easy and intuitive. Regardless of the complexity of the task, UiPath enables the creation of goal-based automation, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in achieving specific objectives.
What needs improvement?
When dealing with a VPN connection, automating the process becomes essential. However, challenges arise when attempting to automate multiple VPN connections.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using it for more than four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of the automation depends on how we establish the rules for a specific automation task. When we define a set of rules for rule-based automation, it tends to operate smoothly without lagging or getting stuck. The automation remains robust as long as the established rules are adhered to, even when there are changes in the user interface of the system.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I would rate the scalability capabilities eight out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
We reached out to tech support when encountering challenges that we couldn't resolve independently. Although direct contact with them has been limited to the initial stages, such as during the license purchasing process, we have relied on the technical team's assistance for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
blueprism
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was relatively straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
We have the flexibility to deploy both on-premises and on the cloud. The ease or difficulty of deployment is somewhat contingent on the client's machines. Various client systems may have specific restrictions; some are more stringent, while others have fewer limitations. The complexity arises when certain systems impose restrictions, especially concerning data source connections. The number of systems to be deployed dictates the need for a team knowledgeable about effectively integrating the software into diverse systems, but mostly two individuals are enough. Overall, I find the deployment process to be quite straightforward and maintenance to be easier compared to other alternatives.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The pricing is quite reasonable. I believe it is more affordable compared to other automation tools such as Automation Anywhere, which is often considered out of budget.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
UiPath is a low code platform with one designated orchestration. Easy to adopt and learn to automate task compared to other tools
What other advice do I have?
My suggestion would be for any user interested in learning about UiPath to start with the trial version before committing to the implementation. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Enables efficient problem-solving across diverse business needs
Pros and Cons
- "The best feature of UiPath Platform is that it is platform agnostic; it's an environment where you do not need to be dependent on any platform."
- "The OCR technology needs improvement, particularly for reading invoices, especially scanned invoices."
What is our primary use case?
In eight years, I have done many different things with the UiPath Platform. I work as a software developer with the UiPath Platform in the insurance industry.
How has it helped my organization?
The UiPath Platform has helped meet diverse business needs. It helps in every way possible. Whatever use case I receive, I have always been able to perform with the UiPath Platform.
What is most valuable?
The best feature of UiPath Platform is that it is platform agnostic; it's an environment where you do not need to be dependent on any platform. The analytics dashboard enables us to showcase what has been done and what has not been done with the UiPath Platform.
What needs improvement?
There are a few areas in the UiPath Platform that could be improved. The OCR technology needs improvement, particularly for reading invoices, especially scanned invoices.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have eight years of experience with the UiPath Platform.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The UiPath Platform is stable, which contributes to their continued success.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The UiPath Platform is definitely scalable, which contributes to their continued success.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service and technical support for UiPath Platform are good. They are very quick to respond, and they have a strong support community.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Negative
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup for UiPath Platform was pretty easy, though it depends on the organization.
The setup process depends on your network configuration and how you need to set up the Orchestrator, whether in the cloud or not. For a smaller organization, it could be quick, while for a larger scale organization, it might take longer. Security issues must also be considered. Implementation can take anywhere from a day for a single user to months for setting up a COE.
We have a team of 20 plus people involved with the deployment of UiPath Platform. The team is servicing an enterprise-level organization.
What was our ROI?
The UiPath Platform definitely helps improve efficiency. It helps save money, reduce time, and reduce errors, though this varies from process to process. These benefits cannot always be quantified as they differ across various processes from small to large. Sometimes the gains are non-materialistic, making them difficult to quantify.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Licensing for UiPath Platform is overly costly, particularly for an unattended bot. They should reduce the pricing to compete with Microsoft Power Automate.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Microsoft provides many different features, which is where UiPath Platform needs to focus its competition. The UiPath Platform has more years of experience and is more robust, working seamlessly with various applications. Power Automate currently has many issues to address, though they perform better in Microsoft environments.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate UiPath Platform nine out of ten overall.

Easy to use, excellent support, and cheap for the value you get
Pros and Cons
- "One thing that we love about UiPath is that the pricing is very good. While we are developing, they have a free option. The Pro option is for just $420. Once we go live, we do not mind paying, so the price point is very good."
- "We would like to see small modules that we can pick and use. Currently, we have to implement a lot of things. The platform is very good, but we would love to have some more templates that we can quickly implement."
What is our primary use case?
We are an EdTech company. We are working on a solution that allows us to customize our offering by reviewing the intelligence that we have about a person. For example, based on how a person learns, we can customize our offering. If a person is more tactile, we can give more quizzes and other things so that the person uses his or her hands to interact. It is a work in progress. We are still implementing it. It is a lot of work.
How has it helped my organization?
It is very easy to build automations with UiPath. It is completely visual. You can easily drag and drop and create a process. It is fairly easy. People who are not technical are also able to work very well. In education, we have to work with educators apart from techies. In EdTech, we have people who understand learning, so we are able to deploy them for this, and we are able to build a better solution. Techies will not be able to build it because they are not educators. We have educators with over 20 years of experience. If we train them to be techies, they will take 10 years, but if we ask techies to become educators, they might take 100 years. With UiPath, we are able to use the skills of our education specialists along with IT and other departments that are needed.
UiPath enables us to implement end-to-end automation. We can use AWS, Azure, or any other product. It is easy for us to integrate UiPath with our current offering. It is very easy to implement and go live.
We are working on using their AI functionality. We are trying to use the user data that we have to understand about a person and deliver a solution accordingly. For example, right now, in education, one size fits all, so there is one program that is directed at a hundred people. If you see Coursera, they have a completion ratio of around 3%. What we have observed is that when we use a solution like UiPath, for the test cases, the completion ratio is very good. It is close to 80%, which is very good. It is going in the right direction.
As far as our business is concerned, if a person does not complete the program, we do not get paid. There is a revenue leakage. By using UiPath, we are seeing a higher completion ratio. For example, if a person enrolls in a university and completes the program, he will pay up for four years. If he drops out in two months and finds that we are not useful, then obviously, we would lose the revenue for three years and ten months. It is helping us reduce wastage. It is helping us increase our revenues with minimal cost addition. The pricing of UiPath is negligible compared to the benefits. We can recover its monthly cost from the revenue that we get from just one student. We have close to 5,000 students. It is very good for us.
In terms of reduction in human error, when you are developing a program, initially, you will discover many errors that you have been missing out on, so human error will be reduced to minimal if your protocol is right. If you make a basic flaw in your design, then it is different, but otherwise, human error is more or less eliminated. There is close to 30% reduction in human error. Once we scale up, that percentage will go up and efficiency will go up.
We plan to automate all manual processes. Some of them are already automated using UiPath, some of them are in progress, and some of them will be automated in the future, but we will save a lot of human time. Human resources are very costly these days. It takes years and years of training for them to add to our business. UiPath has been good for a lot of things that we thought were not possible. We are able to do them after using UiPath. They are able to help us in finance. They are able to help us in HR. They are able to help us with contact centers. It is very good.
What is most valuable?
One thing that we love about UiPath is that the pricing is very good. While we are developing, they have a free option. The Pro option is for just $420. Once we go live, we do not mind paying, so the price point is very good.
The platform is robust. Particularly in process mining and task mining areas, it is very good. We are working on integrating it with our solution, and the API is fairly easy for us to work with.
UiPath is very good. They have OpenAI integration. It is a free integration. They have something for extracting data. They have something for copying text from an image. These are all free and ready to be used in automation.
They have a UiPath community. They have a lot of activities to engage people, and the community is growing. It is not as wide as some of the older products such as PHP or Java, but for AI, it is a very good community. They have DevCons that are very popular as well. Their community is all over the world. They have developers in India. They have developers in the Philippines. It is very good.
What needs improvement?
We would like to see small modules that we can pick and use. Currently, we have to implement a lot of things. The platform is very good, but we would love to have some more templates that we can quickly implement. Other than that, it is very good. We do not require anything else. We are very happy with UiPath. It has been an eye-opener for us. We have discovered things that we thought were not possible earlier.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using UiPath for 3 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is completely stable. I have not had a single downtime in our development journey and usage. It is a very stable solution. I would rate it a ten out of ten in terms of stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is easily scalable because of the way it is implemented. You start with a small license, and as your needs grow, you can keep taking more resources. UiPath also makes money as you grow. They scale it up for us, so we do not have to worry much about the product as such. It is quite scalable.
We have UiPath in multiple departments. We are an EdTech company, and we are using UiPath in the product department and the finance department. We are integrating some elements of HR. Customer support is the most vital component for us because you save a lot of manhours in customer support. Our tech teams are based out of India and the Philippines.
At the implementation stage, we have only 14 developers, but once implemented, it will be used for at least 5,000 customers.
How are customer service and support?
They have been very prompt and helpful. They pay attention to detail. They are available. Their support is a class apart. There are no issues. I would rate them a ten out of ten.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We tried several products but did not implement any RPA. We tried Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate. We found UiPath to be the best in terms of features, community, and support. Some of the things that we tried did not work well for us.
UiPath is a class apart. Automation Anywhere is a standard solution. Overall, Automation Anywhere is very easy. It does not have a community. It does not have all the features. You are mostly platform-dependent when you are using Automation Anywhere, whereas UiPath has a community. You do not need UiPath to help you with everything. There is a lot of talent available. UiPath Academy is good. A lot of people get trained in UiPath. Pricing-wise also, UiPath is cheaper. It is also easy to implement. Automation Anywhere helps to get started very quickly, but we needed customization for our business. This is something where UiPath was better.
How was the initial setup?
It is deployed on the cloud. Everything is on the cloud. UiPath has helped to minimize our on-prem footprint. Ever since COVID, everyone has been moving to a phase where they can be completely remote. We have been transitioning from on-premises for the last few years, and this is a step in the right direction. Of course, we need to do more, but it is going in the right direction.
The number of people required depends on what you are using it for. We are using it for our own custom solution. We have 14 resources working on UiPath for our solution, but a small enterprise does not need that many people. A smaller team is good enough to implement because it has everything. For example, if you want to integrate Salesforce, you can easily integrate Salesforce. You can go and click on the marketplace and just use Salesforce.
It does not require any maintenance from our side. Everything is automatically maintained. The platform is continuously upgraded in the backend. We do not need much maintenance. It is a cloud solution, and everything is maintained at the backend. You do not need any intervention.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
It is super cheap for the value you get. Their free version is good enough to implement. When you are building a solution, it takes months of effort, and sometimes, it takes years. Its free version is good enough for you to test out everything, so when you are developing, you do not need to pay. After that, there is a Pro version at $420. It is reasonable for the value it is offering. Their basic support is also very good, which comes with the Pro version.
The Enterprise license is suitable when you need a hundred automation licenses. It is also reasonable. They give good pricing when you negotiate.
What other advice do I have?
I would highly recommend UiPath. You can definitely go for it. I would suggest being a little bit patient while implementing this solution initially because it can be overwhelming. There are so many options.
UiPath as a company is also good. They respond quickly. It has been a pleasure so far. Our product is not yet live. We are still working on it. It is a very big solution for us, and it will be a game changer for our business.
Overall, I would rate UiPath a ten out of ten.
