ThousandEyes gives companies better visibility. So it shows you the effective notes on the network layer and the application's performance for anyone inside or outside the data center. It provides deep visibility on the network, legal support, and user requests.
In addition, it shows you averages around the world, so if there's a breach or problem on the public cloud around the world, ThousandEyes notifies you of this problem and if you're affected.
Provides deep visibility on the network with great internet and WAN abilities
Pros and Cons
- "ThousandEyes gives companies better visibility."
- "ThousandEyes gives companies better visibility, showing effective notes on the network layer and the application's performance for anyone inside or outside the data center, while providing deep visibility on the network, legal support, and user requests."
- "They only offer synthetic requests."
- "They only offer synthetic requests, so they should create an agent for users that can track your request."
What is our primary use case?
What is most valuable?
The best feature is the Internet and the WAN because ThousandEyes lets you see the network layers and every hop on the network. So, it's not only a browser or sensitive request that shows you the problem. It allows a deep dive into the problem.
What needs improvement?
They only offer synthetic requests, so they should create an agent for users that can track your request. For example, if I'm playing a game or listening to a song on Spotify, ThousandEyes cannot follow my requests and show me the problem. If they can do this, it will make them the best product in the market.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for one year. It is deployed on the public cloud, and agents deploy on the public cloud, data centers, and end-users computers.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It is a stable product and provides all the features they promise. I haven't seen any mark that affects user-to-user.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is a scalable solution. Each team member can get a user to connect UI and browse the data.
How are customer service and support?
I rate the support a ten out of ten. We've contacted the technical support team for integration purposes, and they answered on time and resolved our problems.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We chose ThousandEyes because of the internet and WAN ability. The Cisco FSO, Full-Stack Observability, is also good. ThousandEyes covers the end-user monitoring site, AppDynamics covers the APM side, and Intersight covers the whole infrastructure and the cloud.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was very easy, and the deployment was fast and took about ten minutes.
What was our ROI?
There is a return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The costs depend on the agency deployed and how many requests are made over the agents. The price is in the middle. It is not cheap and not expensive.
What other advice do I have?
I rate this solution an eight out of ten because of its ability to show the network list, and each top is the best that I've seen. Regarding advice, you should set up your agents carefully to cover all of your infrastructure and enterprise. The agent's installation and data centers being monitored are important. In addition, do not activate all of your agents at the same time. The price depends on the usage, and if you consume a license, you enable them simultaneously. Try to learn and get the data and analyze it.
In a future release, monitoring and user behaviour should be included. It would be great if ThousandEyes could monitor real user data and provide different packages for large, midsize, and small companies.

Provides an excellent analysis service; extremely reliable
Pros and Cons
- "The company provides excellent service."
- "I think the analysis service that Cisco provides is extremely valuable."
- "It's an expensive solution."
- "Cisco is the standard for anyone wanting something good, the problem with it is the cost and that means that it's not accessible to many smaller companies."
What is our primary use case?
We're in security and video, and Cisco is the main product we use as far as routers and switches. It's all high-end, we do a lot of government work. Right now, we have over 4,500 users, and we've been in business for close to 16 years. 85% of our clients are businesses. At the moment we have 300 users on the cloud, and maybe 30 or 40 cameras. We are resellers and I'm a systems integrator.
What is most valuable?
I think the analysis service that Cisco provides is extremely valuable. Our clients want to be able to grab the video and stream it to their phone, with alarm notifications.
What needs improvement?
Cisco is the standard for anyone wanting something good, the problem with it is the cost and that means that it's not accessible to many smaller companies. It really is a high-end product.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is quite stable, I've never had any problems with it but if there is an issue, then the IT personnel will take care of it. We have a couple of people taking care of maintenance. Usually IT takes care of the hardware and the software, and the administrator is the one that actually deals with the system management and operations.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is quite scalable, we have around 5,000 users in total.
How are customer service and technical support?
I haven't dealt with technical support but I believe they would provide a good service. With any big company service is probably the most important thing.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup requires knowledge of the system security.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
For now, billing is on an annual basis but it may change to a monthly fee. It's what we would prefer. Whichever way that goes depends on the equipment and service.
What other advice do I have?
There's generally a recommendation to go with Cisco, but most clients don't have the money for that and go for a lower end solution.
I would rate this solution an eight out of 10.

I've likely used the solution for about six months at this point. It's been less than a year. It hasn't been that long yet.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
In the time I have used the product, I have noticed that it's quite scalable. If a company needs to expand it, it shouldn't be an issue.
We have eight people in our organization that work directly with the product.
How are customer service and technical support?
We've only had good experiences with support. They are helpful and responsive. We're quite happy with the level of attention we get when we have issues.
How was the initial setup?
We found the installation process to be very simple and straightforward. It's not complex. It's not difficult. A company shouldn't have any issues deploying the product.
What other advice do I have?
We are a Cisco partner and reseller.
We are using the latest version of the solution, however, I can't speak to the version number we are on.
In general, I would d recommend the solution to other users and organizations. I've had a positive experience so far.
I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten overall.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Scalable with good authentification and great technical support
Pros and Cons
- "The authentication overall - including to the VPN and LAN - is excellent."
- "The authentication overall - including to the VPN and LAN - is excellent."
- "The guest portal is hard to use."
- "The guest portal is hard to use."
What is our primary use case?
The typical use case for this solution is for authentication devices in the network. It's for authentication in cable networks and WiFi networks and is used as well as enterprise WiFi for branch offices. The main use case, therefore, is basically for LAN and corporate WIFI.
What is most valuable?
The authentication overall - including to the VPN and LAN - is excellent. Authentication to devices with less duplication is great.
What needs improvement?
The guest portal is hard to use. Clients have faced many difficulties, especially around various mobile devices in order to get LAN authentication. They need to improve this area. Right now, the user experience isn't the best.
The guest portal customization also isn't ideal. It's quite difficult to achieve. In some cases, you need to point to another external portal completely in order to provide more functionality.
The solution is multi-connective and it's pretty good. If you compare Cisco to HP, Cisco is better, however, it's expensive to implement it and operate it. I need to consolidate and configure our Cisco systems and configure out LAN to DNA. However, the DNA has poor authentification and automation when configured with the solution. There needs to be better integration in the next version or better features that can patch the two together effectively. Otherwise, right now, if it stays as it is, it's not great.
In a future release, it would be nice to see more automation with integration in DNA and the product. This would make for an easier administration.
For how long have I used the solution?
We've had the solution for three years at this point.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is nice. It's good. We have small bugs occasionally, however, this is normal in software solutions. The complications of the solution come when checking the initially projected metrics of compatibility. We have a virtual suite, virtual controller, and virtual supplicant. If this works well in the initial process, we don't have any problems in the final installation.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is very scalable. We have two models and we've separated functions now in many servers. Admin solution monitors everything in order to receive logs. In many cases, it's a load balancer situation. If you want, you can, by using a load balancer, try to provide scalability. It's mostly scalable. It's very good.
We have multi-use cases and use the solution for both big and medium-sized companies.
How are customer service and technical support?
Technical support is very good and Cisco does a really good job of helping vendors. We're quite satisfied with the level of service they provide.
How was the initial setup?
I don't handle the implementation or deployment. I only project and provide a logical projection for the client's needs, including how many servers, how many licenses, how many features, etc. will be needed. However, I don't deliver the projects.
That said, the installation as far as I understand it, is complex.
It's complex in the sense of personalizing it. The implementation itself doesn't need to be complex, however, it takes a few hours of work. The actualizing of the VMware and hardware servers can be pretty expensive.
Usually, deployment requires 18 hours per server to install and actualize. However, if you need to personalize it, the rule is to authenticate and to provide tags, too. Due to the segmentation, you need to plan for a six to 13-day deployment period.
What other advice do I have?
We're a reseller. I sell products. I don't use the solution myself. I sell cloud products, security and network products, firewalls, data centers, and collaboration tools. We have many partners including Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, etc.
In terms of this product, we sell different versions of the solution and not just the latest.
We typically deal with on-premises deployment for this product and the cloud has many security issues in Brazil. For big clients, it's typically on-premises.
Overall, I would rate the solution nine out of ten.

- "It would be nice if the solution covered other areas like server monitoring."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily used the solution mainly to monitor the network latency and network quality between different sites including company and internet sites. It helped us to see the connection quality.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable aspect of the solution was the ability to see how the connection quality is between the sites and get an alert if it was turning bad.
What needs improvement?
We didn't use the solution for that long, so it's hard to remember what we didn't like about the solution.
It would be nice if the solution covered other areas like server monitoring.
For how long have I used the solution?
I used the product a few months ago for two to three weeks.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We never tested the scalability, so I can't speak to it.
How are customer service and technical support?
During the trial, we didn't need to contact technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've previously used PRTG and Zabbix, among others. They are a little bit different because this solution is really focused on network quality.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is quite simple. It has a good interface which makes everything easy to grasp. It only took two people to deploy the solution.
What about the implementation team?
I handled the implementation myself.
What other advice do I have?
We used the public cloud deployment model.
I'd recommend the solution and advise others to check to see if it fits with their environment even if they're using some other monitoring solution.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Comprehensive monitoring has improved troubleshooting and now pinpoints network issues end to end
Pros and Cons
- "The advice I would give to those looking into using ThousandEyes is about the possibilities it offers to the operations teams, as ThousandEyes is an extremely powerful solution that makes operations able to detect issues effectively."
What is our primary use case?
ThousandEyes is primarily adopted for professional services and managed services within the company. This involves obtaining the solution, adapting it to professional and managed services, and applying comprehensive monitoring capabilities such as monitoring the enterprise network, implementing observability for end users, monitoring the ISP network, and tracking all network paths from the customer brand to the data center.
The solution is adapted to professional and managed services with this monitoring applied, and then sold to customers.
What is most valuable?
The best feature ThousandEyes offers is end-to-end digital experience monitoring, along with the ability to track the ISP network, which accelerates troubleshooting and identifies where issues are occurring within the network.
ThousandEyes allows me to track exactly where issues are happening—whether at the user end, in the internal LAN, in the ISP, or at the end application. This illustrates how ThousandEyes helps and benefits operations.
With ThousandEyes, I have been able to show customers the exact point where they are facing issues. The post-sales team has been able to perform assessments and provide deep visibility into the customer network, identifying where the issue was and resolving customer network performance problems.
The post-sales team, implementation team, and support and maintenance team have shared cases where ThousandEyes tracked and identified wireless performance issues, which enabled the expansion and increase of offerings to sell more to the customer. After wireless performance analysis with ThousandEyes, it was possible to identify issues in the wireless network, on user devices, and in the infrastructure itself.
What needs improvement?
Currently, I do not have improvements to apply to ThousandEyes, but having more clarity on how to sell the solution from ThousandEyes partners' perspective could help.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have used ThousandEyes for the past four years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
ThousandEyes is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
ThousandEyes is a very scalable solution where I can add more enterprise agents, cloud agents, or end user agents without any problems.
How are customer service and support?
The support is good, with different levels depending on the criticality of the issue. It is very good because if there is a high urgency need, I can directly contact ThousandEyes support and receive assistance.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
What about the implementation team?
Currently, I deploy ThousandEyes for end customers, depending on the customer case.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Regarding pricing, this can be quite difficult because it depends on the region. For instance, in Latin America, particularly Brazil, the cost can be high, leading customers to only want to use ThousandEyes for a short time frame. Customers might only commit for one to three months to identify issues and then opt not to renew or acquire more licenses.
What other advice do I have?
What stands out most for me is the comprehensive capabilities of ThousandEyes—its features cover everything from end user monitoring and experience to application performance.
ThousandEyes covers everything from end user monitoring and experience to the application itself. It provides the possibility to check for issues on the internet and visibility into routing inside the network. The solution allows me to identify any issues from the end user to the application.
ThousandEyes addresses ISP degradation, SaaS degradation, and business application degradation. I am a partner and reseller of ThousandEyes.
The advice I would give to those looking into using ThousandEyes is about the possibilities it offers to the operations teams. ThousandEyes is an extremely powerful solution that makes operations able to detect issues effectively. My review rating for ThousandEyes is ten.
