Very easy to use but lacks network security and other features
Pros and Cons
  • "Easy to use."
  • "Lacking in features such as Wi-Fi and network security."

What is our primary use case?

We are partners with Microsoft Intune as well as customers.

What is most valuable?

The valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use.

What needs improvement?

I find the solution quite old school with not many features. Managing devices is a little complex when they are not Microsoft projects. Additional features I'd like to see would include Wi-Fi and network security.

Offers cross-functionality and simplicity of use, but communication on updates needs improvement

What is our primary use case?

My use cases for Microsoft Intune are to secure our mobile license and our platform.

What is most valuable?

What I appreciate the most about Microsoft Intune is that it's quick and easy to use from an authenticator perspective. There is simplicity in securing our platform. Microsoft Intune benefits my company because of its simplicity of use and cross-functional integration.

The user experience of Microsoft Intune is good because of its cross-functionality and simplicity of use.

What needs improvement?

Automatic updating is pretty rough. It doesn't give me as much control as I had in the past. With no ability to control release cycles, it's been more difficult for major IT organizations. They can give comfort to those who are using the utilities with predictability on when new releases are coming. There should be more predictability in the release cycle.

We don't feel we have any control over when new updates come out, and whether there are changes to the backend functionality or to the user interface. Updates just happen. When updates are visible to end users, organizations get the call, not Microsoft. Since we don't have a good amount of communication about when those come out or what the new features are before they're deployed, we're caught flat-footed. We have to get to our reps to see what the updates were. A much more proactive communication cycle, aside from just putting it out on Twitter, would be fantastic.

They can continue to improve security. Factoring in all the compatibility pieces and security components, there's more improvement to be done outside of Microsoft-specific products themselves. There are multiple operating systems out there. It has gotten better in the last couple of years. However, the reason that RSA and this big conference exist is that we need to have some cybersecurity capabilities above and beyond the standard that comes with the operating system, so an industry has formed around it, and with that, we can get more focused on that part of the product specifically.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Intune for approximately six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The reliability and stability of the Microsoft Intune platform are pretty good. I can't say the same thing about Teams, but Microsoft Intune is really good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Microsoft Intune scales absolutely with the growing needs of my company. When scaling, it's great.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support for Microsoft Intune is really good. I would rate them a ten out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We migrated from a mobile and endpoint solution to Microsoft Intune.

How was the initial setup?

Deployment of Microsoft Intune was pretty straightforward and easy.

What was our ROI?

The biggest return on investment when using Microsoft Intune for me is inter-compatibility with everybody.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's a bit expensive from a licensing perspective, especially as we look to have organizations with tenants across the globe. Whether in multiple commercial environments or as a clear defense contractor, there are times when we have multiple different user accounts, and we have to pay per seat. It would be great in the future if we were able to automatically associate those types of things within the licensing model.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Microsoft Intune, we considered other solutions about six years ago.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Microsoft Intune overall a seven out of ten. They could continue to improve on the security aspects.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Enables us to deliver a seamless experience and remote management for our customers
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is that it is more of a one-stop shop, providing an easier experience."
  • "The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is that it is more of a one-stop shop, providing an easier experience."
  • "From my level of analysis, the feature I would prefer to see added to Microsoft Intune is extensive support. Anything that helps to diagnose the problem and solve it would be useful."

What is our primary use case?

Our current use cases for the solution involve consulting and implementing for many customers. Primarily, the majority of our customers are India-based, but we have a few customers in the US. We essentially help them with all their device management, end-to-end, including mobile device management.

We are mainly using CoPilot in Microsoft Intune for configuration and from a productivity point of view. Additionally, we want to standardize many of these processes so we do not have to reinvent the wheel when we go to different customers. This is the context in which we are using CoPilot to help us speed up in terms of reusable objects that we can generate and then deploy across customers.

How has it helped my organization?

It is an ideal solution for customers who are a Microsoft-shop. The ecosystem plays a big role, and there is support for a variety of devices. I do not see any problem because Microsoft Intune supports all sorts of devices and platforms, but if their ecosystem is much more Microsoft, it is even easier for us from a configuration and implementation point of view.

We are using the enterprise application management feature in Microsoft Intune. We support end-to-end, and we have customers ranging from small to mid-size and large enterprises. Depending on the customer's needs, it may change, but we do use it. Enterprise application management in Microsoft Intune primarily helps in terms of throughput and productivity.

We can cater to more customers with the limited capacity that we have. We do not have to hire many more engineers, especially with CoPilot and other tools. Also, standardizing some of these deployment options across customers helps us to scale easily.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of Microsoft Intune is that it is more of a one-stop shop, providing an easier experience. The seamless experience and remote management for customers from our office with our engineers are the most convenient aspects. It increases productivity and helps us to scale and expand.

The user experience of Microsoft Intune is very good. For the last eight years, we have been using it effectively. It is probably one of the best experiences. I do not have any complaints or problems. My team quickly gets through it, and they understand it easily. Training becomes easier, especially when people move out and then get new people onboarded. It is a seamless experience.

What needs improvement?

So far, I have not heard any complaints because it is a pretty mature product. From my level of analysis, the feature I would prefer to see added to Microsoft Intune is extensive support. Anything that helps to diagnose the problem and solve it would be useful. Helping the engineers, especially with CoPilot, with ready or out-of-the-box solutions would make life a lot easier because that helps us reduce tickets and respond faster. They can support engineers to do their job better and in a much more proactive way. They can also suggest solutions so that we do not have to waste time. Being more proactive is essential.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Intune for more than eight years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Microsoft Intune is very stable. I have not experienced any downtime, crashes, or performance issues with Microsoft Intune at all.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Microsoft Intune scales with our growing needs. We are mostly catering to our customers, and scaling is never a problem. We have worked with customers with over 100,000 employees, so it performs exceptionally.

How are customer service and support?

We support the entire M365 end-to-end, and Microsoft Intune is a part of that. We support all features and capabilities around Microsoft Intune. My team is technical. We give L1, L2, and L3 support, and we only escalate to L4, L5 when needed, which is a very limited situation. This happens only when new features and products are released, such as CoPilot, which we have not experienced before. Generally, my team is self-sufficient.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

Its deployment is seamless. We have on-premises and cloud deployments. The cloud provider is Azure.

What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment. There are more revenue generation opportunities for us and productivity. Those are the two key aspects, along with customer satisfaction.

We have data points and metrics to calculate our return on investment, as we continuously track our internal stats, especially on the support side. We have to report back from the reports point of view, so we have many internal stats around it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup costs, and licensing of Microsoft Intune has been good. As a partner, we always look for how we can generate more revenue from a consulting point of view, but I do not see any complaints from the customer side regarding pricing, so they are satisfied with it.

What other advice do I have?

We have been using Microsoft Intune for a long time. We are a Microsoft partner, so we will stick with them.

I would rate Microsoft Intune an eight out of ten.

Reduces management burden and allows us to remotely wipe devices
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature of remotely wiping devices in Microsoft Intune is what I prefer the most."
  • "Microsoft Intune has definitely reduced management burdens."
  • "In terms of the admin experience, it is straightforward, but the Windows enrollment experience could be improved. Sometimes, for enrollment, we have to reset devices and re-enroll them. Just configuring Windows, Azure, or Active Directory doesn't enroll the devices. We need easy enrollment for Windows."
  • "In terms of the admin experience, it is straightforward, but the Windows enrollment experience could be improved. Sometimes, for enrollment, we have to reset devices and re-enroll them."

What is our primary use case?

My main use cases for Microsoft Intune are to manage devices, remotely wipe lost devices, and enforce device security.

How has it helped my organization?

Microsoft Intune has definitely reduced management burdens. It has helped us significantly.

Microsoft Intune has changed my customers' abilities regarding app discovery, deployment, and automatic updating. They use it extensively.

What is most valuable?

The feature of remotely wiping devices in Microsoft Intune is what I prefer the most. When employees come and go, we can remotely wipe devices. This is what we primarily use it for.

What needs improvement?

In terms of the admin experience, it is straightforward, but the Windows enrollment experience could be improved. Sometimes, for enrollment, we have to reset devices and re-enroll them. Just configuring Windows, Azure, or Active Directory doesn't enroll the devices. We need easy enrollment for Windows.

Microsoft Intune can be improved by integrating Lighthouse and making it easier for partners to manage customer devices. They have remote help in Microsoft Intune, but they charge a license for it. For partners who manage thousands of devices, they should not charge, as it could be integrated with Lighthouse to provide remote support and better help customers.

It is at times slow. It takes time in the backend whenever we push out enterprise apps or reset devices.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Intune for approximately five years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Microsoft Intune meets my needs for scaling and is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

It's good. We pay for premium support, so we receive good support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We also experimented with Google's solution before choosing Microsoft Intune. The main difference was that Google only supports Chromebook and doesn't handle Windows, so we use Microsoft Intune for Windows.

What was our ROI?

The return on investment when using Microsoft Intune is good. It has been helpful for us and our customers.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

It's bundled with Business Premium and an E3 license, which is beneficial. If you have to pay extra, it's pricey, but with the bundled package, it's acceptable. They recently increased the Business Premium pricing, which we don't appreciate. The price increase and yearly commitment are causing some problems for us.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We considered TeamViewer. We went for Intune because it is included with our Business Premium licensing, so we don't have to pay extra for it.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Microsoft Intune an eight out of ten. To make Microsoft Intune a perfect ten, they could provide remote help for partners with Lighthouse, make it easier to enroll all devices, and make it faster.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Simplifies device management and enables us to create unique deployments for security
Pros and Cons
  • "The thing I appreciate most about Microsoft Intune is that the management of the devices was very simplified. We have all machines connected to it at all times, whether they are in the office or working from home."
  • "The thing I appreciate most about Microsoft Intune is that the management of the devices was very simplified."
  • "Reporting can be better. Only global administrators can see detailed reports at the moment, and I don't want to use the global admin."
  • "Microsoft support was not very responsive, and it took approximately one and a half months to get on a call to clear what the problem was."

What is our primary use case?

We are using Microsoft Intune for the management of desktops and laptops because we have a business where we don't have all users in the office. Many of them work from home from different countries. Management of the devices was almost impossible with the tools that we were using before, such as ServiceDesk. We are using Office 365, and we are Microsoft users in a Microsoft environment. After that, we decided to grow with Microsoft Intune. Initially, it was planned to better manage the devices and serve as a deployment tool.

How has it helped my organization?

Microsoft Intune has definitely affected IT productivity in our company. We shortened the time for issuing new PCs and changing PCs. It enforced our security and deployment of the Gold Build. We were waiting for that; it shortened that time significantly, and we got our security certifications regarding that very fast after we bought it. Junior technicians and help desk staff had much less time to spend on the deployment of the PCs.

We are using the endpoint privilege management feature and find it very useful and good.

What is most valuable?

The thing I appreciate most about Microsoft Intune is that the management of the devices was very simplified. We have all machines connected to it at all times, whether they are in the office or working from home. The greatest thing is that we create unique deployments for security, which we call the Gold Build Windows 11, and the deployment of that operating system with all the security settings that we set up for our business is very easy; it is much simplified compared to before. We created everything that we needed on Microsoft Intune, and all you need to do is just set up a new PC or an existing one, put it on the network, and let Microsoft Intune do everything else in order to have a completely full machine with everything you need from one place. Everything that you need to change, when we decide to change something, is in one place and will be deployed immediately.

What needs improvement?

Reporting can be better. Only global administrators can see detailed reports at the moment, and I don't want to use the global admin. We have only two global administrators in the USA and Europe, and it should be available for the global reader role because currently, when I need to do some reporting, I have to send a request for the global admin report.

We didn't have any complaints in terms of user experience, from administrators or from users. The only problem for us was that we had different access levels for the administrators, and that was very hard to accomplish. That was the one part that we were keen on and contacted support. It's not so granular. That was the problem.

One thing that I don't appreciate in deployment is that it needs to be put in the group of the machines over the security group; you cannot put it into only one PC.

For how long have I used the solution?

I started using Microsoft Intune in my last company, and I have been using it for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We didn't have any issues regarding stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Microsoft Intune is very scalable.

It's a great suite for big companies that have over 3,000 users and many devices to manage. It's great from the management point of the devices, and also users; it's collaborative with Office 365, and the pricing is for companies that have more than 3,000 users.

How are customer service and support?

We contacted them when we had the issue with the serial numbers of the machines. Microsoft support was not very responsive, and it took approximately one and a half months to get on a call to clear what the problem was. Every time they changed technicians, we had to explain the problem again. We were explaining for one and a half months without getting help. We ultimately resolved the problem ourselves. They are not responsive and not intuitive in giving solutions.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used Service Desk Plus previously. At the moment, we are using other management tools, but very soon, we will go for Microsoft One. Between Service Desk Plus and Microsoft Intune, I prefer Microsoft Intune because of its pricing and features.

In terms of app discovery, deployment, and automatic updating, it's great; although sometimes, it's very hard to find the deployment version of the applications for Microsoft Intune because some software companies do not create them. For example, we find it much simpler in other software, such as Datto. We use Datto for remote access and deployment of some specific applications, but for most applications, we use Microsoft Intune.

How was the initial setup?

The initial deployment was not difficult for me. The project took one month to deploy.

We saw the benefits of Microsoft Intune after some time. We had some issues, and we contacted support at Microsoft. We used a lot of non-brand machines, and that was the issue. We couldn't enroll them in Microsoft Intune because they didn't have serial numbers, and unfortunately, Microsoft couldn't help us on that. We solved the issue by ourselves by writing down in the BIOS our internal number with a script, and that was the solution. After we crossed that bridge, it was much better.

What about the implementation team?

We had a very small team; three engineers were doing the implementation.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The overall pricing of Microsoft Intune is good for companies that have big IT budgets, 3,000 or more users and devices.

What other advice do I have?

We started using Copilot, but we stopped the usage of AI at the moment in our domain. We want to make it more granular in terms of who can use it. Our end users cannot use it. It was a request from our clients to set that up at this point, and we have an IT department in the company that will make improvements. We took Copilot professional licenses, and it's very good.

It is important for us that the capabilities of the Intune Suite are integrated with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Security for both cloud and co-managed devices. We are still in hybrid mode, but within Intune, Office 365, and Azure, we will soon be in the cloud, totally independent of anything on the ground.

I would rate Microsoft Intune an eight out of ten.
