Sophos Email Room for Improvement
Price is obviously a challenging part, and I think it is the biggest problem we have suffered from over the last two or three years due to a 7 to 8% hike per year, twice a year, which is why we have some renewals on Sophos Email, Sophos XDR, EDR, and the firewall, but due to price hike, they are unable to renew it. The price is going to be very high.
It would be better if Sophos can provide a more flexible pricing model for different types of businesses. Price could be lower. The main competitor for Sophos in the market is Palo Alto, which has reduced their price by more than 35 to 40%, making it a very challenging part to sell this product. Palo Alto provides the same functionality for email security, which adds to the challenge because the price is going very high.
View full review »While Sophos Email is generally sufficient, one challenge we face is the 24-hour email storage limitation. This presents an issue when internal systems are down for more than 24 hours.
The solution could be more flexible for clients.
View full review »Sophos Email does not work with split delivery. If I have a domain with 100 mailboxes and want to protect only 50, it is not recommended by Sophos or not possible to configure.

Email installation could be more user-friendly so that it can be done without involving the partner. If made more user-friendly, even a user could do it on their own.

It needs to add additional feature that helps in enhancing the scanning processes of these emails. While adding these features, it should work towards improving the current features also.

The tool has some performance issues and bugs, making it an area where improvements are required.
I believe that Sophos Email is not as effective as FortiMail and Trend Micro. To address this, improvements can be made in rule-based functionalities, offering more tools and options to customers. Enhancing rule creation and customization features would provide users with greater control over their email security settings. Specifically, adding more custom rules would be beneficial in this regard.

View full review »There have been some issues with compatibility and effectiveness, particularly when integrating it with our firewall. The main challenge has been email protection, especially due to compatibility issues and difficulties with log access and email relay configuration.
I would like to see more detailed logs in the future releases. The firewall logs don't show the in-depth logs, so we can only see the software in detail, not the logs themselves. This is a problem we've been facing in customer environments for some time.
Emails go to spam even though there's no legitimate reason for them to be there. There's no summary of the necessary issues, either.
If an email goes to spam, the system will drop it. There should be a certificate email on the query, but support comes and goes, and they might see learning and run the Linux command or show the unrigorous answers.
But if there is some read-only show on the reporting or clear reporting, it would be good for the customers.
However, the setup was tricky, particularly with the DNS routing between Microsoft Exchange Online and Sophos cloud services. It took me about four attempts to get it working correctly.
Despite that, Sophos Email does everything we need, so we don't require any additional capabilities now.

The main drawback is regarding the technical support. Unfortunately, we may not receive immediate assistance, and the resolution process might extend beyond a week. Internal filtering is an additional feature that should be incorporated. I would appreciate having the option for spam blocking.
View full review »Sophos Email could better detect fake emails, especially when the domain names are similar. It needs to improve spotting spoofed domains, like when one letter differs in a domain name. It also needs to incorporate AI detection. Barracuda detects suspicious emails better. However, malware scanning is better in Sophos Email.
The solution could offer the option to integrate third-party RBL. This would allow users like Omer to use their own RBLS.

Phishing email is evolving. Sometimes we use tools to send an email. Some companies are using those tools to send an email keeping the face of another company to make it look like that email came from the same person. The solution has not found a way to block these kinds of emails.
I would like to see improvements in the initial setup process, ensuring better compatibility with diverse customer infrastructures. Additionally, in the next release, it would be valuable to have enhanced features for seamless interaction with customer infrastructure, making the setup more user-friendly and efficient.

The solution should be able to support the cloud environment.
Sometimes, if there is any ransom email or mails are queued, it will take little time to deliver.

View full review »They're making improvements all the time but I'd like to see visibility into the spam emails so you can easily see them directly on the dashboard.
They should allow copier release without having to create email accounts.
I've run into situations, especially when I'm using Office 365; if we're actually using copiers to send emails (of course you'd barely actually have to set up an email account, you just set it off to relay). If your exchange environment is only set to accept email from Sophos Email servers, those messages will never get delivered. Sophos flags them as spam and kills them even before they get there.
