What is most valuable?

Spot-on anti-malware and risk scanning features
Pros and Cons
  • "The anti-malware, risk scanning has been pretty spot on."
  • "Their technical support is slow to respond."

What is our primary use case?

I have a couple of clients who are using this solution. We use this solution to scan email for viruses.

What is most valuable?

The anti-malware, risk scanning has been pretty spot on.

What needs improvement?

They should allow copier release without having to create email accounts.

I've run into situations, especially when I'm using Office 365; if we're actually using copiers to send emails (of course you'd barely actually have to set up an email account, you just set it off to relay). If your exchange environment is only set to accept email from Sophos Email servers, those messages will never get delivered. Sophos flags them as spam and kills them even before they get there.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Sophos Email for two to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sophos Email is pretty stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is not relevant because they're on cloud-based servers.

How are customer service and technical support?

Their technical support is slow to respond.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Years ago, I used to use Symantec for email security. Sophos offers a giant suite through their central managed console, they became MSP friendly. That's why we made the switch. We had a central pane of glass that actually viewed every single Sophos product that we would deploy to our clients.

There is an additional fee for their central managed console.

I haven't looked at the costs of that because I'm in a tier program. The licenses I sell for any Sophos product go into a pool. As long as I'm using a thousand different Sophos products, or a combination of those products, my tier drops.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

If you're thinking about implementing this solution, keep in mind that the tech support Is usually very slow.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Sophos Email a nine.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable, scalable, but the security could improve
Pros and Cons
  • "I have found Sophos Email to be scalable."
  • "The security of the solution could improve."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily deploy Sophos Email to customers for email phishing prevention.

One of our clients is using Microsoft Exchange and they have their email server on the cloud and they wanted an email phishing email solution to be provided into the cloud. Every email which comes to the endpoint and to the users would have to pass through this support email-based in the cloud.

What needs improvement?

The security of the solution could improve.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Sophos Email for approximately 18 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I have found Sophos Email to be scalable.

We have two customers using this solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have not needed to contact technical support. Everything has been working smoothly.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward.

What about the implementation team?

We have two engineers for the support of Sophos Email; one for the prime contract and the other one as a backup in case the prime contract is unavailability.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Most of our clients are on a perpetual license. If there is a budget issue, they can choose a subscription. However, most of the clients choose the perpetual license.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate Sophos Email a seven out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
